The polo shirt was weird, I ended up having to rebuild half of it using amtopshortsleevecollar or the preg morph would have looked very pointy. Compatibility with existing recolors is unaffected, polycount went very slightly down from 1,184 to 1,176.

3t2 CandK Snow Cone Machine Recolour GUIDs fixed

Don't know if anyone has already shared a fix for this. But tidying up my downloads folder, I noticed I actually had all the original recolours for crispsandkerosene's 3t2 snow cone machine in my folder. But they were not showing up in game. I love using this in my game and I had been playing with only the default colour. The problem: GUIDs were not matching.

So I fixed the GUIDS of the recolours in SimPE and tadaa, they are showing up in my game now. In case you haven't done that already, this might save you the extra step :)

Get the fixed files here and delete the original recolour files in your folder.

My Contribution to GoS’ December Monthly Theme, Two TS3 Conversions First is the Seasons snowcone machine, which had been hanging out in my

5 recolors of pantless 3t2 Cowboy Boots, for ages child to adult, set as everyday wear only. CF and TF recolors are repo'd to the AF files. Notes, download link and swatch are under the cut.

TF and AF meshes by @impishsims;

CF mesh by @deedee-sims (not pictured above because I didn't know about it until after I took the preview pics);

The recolors are by different creators, as my idea for this project was to reuse recolors from other clothes that use these same boots: red boots with printed-on design (not pictured above) by fakepeeps7 (MTS); light brown and purple recs by @whattheskell; dark brown rec by @serabiet; and finally a new, solid red recolor made by me.

Rural Lanes ala Dark Mode

I am a big fan of all things @criquette-was-here, including this Rural Lanes set. However the bright dirt was not suiting the grim darkness of my Medieval hood and I wanted to create an alternative version of the Rural Lanes that matched my road textures and was darker and muddier.

So I did! This set has every piece of Criquette's awesome original set and is not a default replacement, all objects have unique GUIDs and can be used alongside the originals. I take zero credit for either the awesome meshes, or even the dirt texture, which I ripped from the wonderful dirt roads that @lordcrumps made for Midiville long ago.

While I was poking around inside Criquette's files and shamelessly using them for my own purposes, I did notice that the "rural_lane_curve90_long_01" file had a tiny little error in one of the TXMTs, where the "heavy snow" texture was being used for the "light snow" txmt, so I also fixed that and have included a fixed file in my download in case anyone wants it. Let my file overwrite Criquette's original. Honestly have no idea how likely it is I'll ever see that piece with light snow but oh well lol. More pics and a comparison below, otherwise:

so, yeah... decorative pools that don't look like an entry into the abyss!

the mesh consists of two planes: floor tile and water tint. the water tint plane is above maxis water level; any higher and it would probably look unnatural, any lower and it would intersect with waves and lose color in places of intersection. the water texture isn't seamless all around; you might want to avoid combining darker tint shades with floors for which the rotation matters, because then the mismatch becomes more visible.

normally can only be placed in REAL pools (need moveobjects on for corner placement). ofc you can place it outside of pools as well, but the mesh is below ground level, and it doesn't look that good without real water.

can be placed in round pools, too, but watch out for weird shadows. I have some guesses as to why that might happen, but it doesn't bother me much.

both subsets are recolorable. available swatches are below.

4t2 EP04 Catch of the Day Food Stand as functional food stand

Another food stand conversion! A thing about me is I love my sims being able to eat on community lots but I don't always love sending them to restaurants. So food stands are really my jam and I always want more.

These stands were previously converted by @tony-veis as a fish kiosk here, but I decided to convert them again this time as a functional food stand.

These stands also don't require any custom foods. Sims will be able to purchase all of the seafood related maxis dishes, as seen in the pie menu image above.

The dishes are:

I've also included a recolor to the "Foodies Seafood Sampler" food stand (the shrimp one). In Sims 4 they're two separate stands selling different things but it's the same mesh so— recolor!

** tutorial to add your own foods: I personally plan on adding custom seafood related dishes to this for my own game, but wanted a "maxis only" base too. If you want to add your own dishes to this you can follow this tutorial. Just mind that in this particular food stand the “Create New Object Instance” appears three times, not twice like the tutorial says. The first instance of “Create New Object” is for the plate's GUID. If the food you're adding uses the default maxis plate then you don't have to change the GUID here. The other two “Create New Object Instance” toward the bottom are for the food GUID and both must be changed to the GUID of the food you're adding in the way the linked tutorial describes.

Simple Counter Solution

This little counter may not look like much, but it's the start of something that I'm quite excited about!

This is a super low-poly counter island. No doors or drawers, but the base is repository linked to BB's Niche and I made a variety of different textures for the counter top.

This counter set is designed to blend in with walls. I envision using it as a retail counter or a reception desk, but it does function as an island where Sims can prepare or eat food.

It comes in two versions: one with edge pieces where the base gets narrower and the countertop has edging, and another which doesn't so it will remain flush with an adjacent wall. The no edges version takes both its textures and its meshes from the original.

There are three colours of laminate bundled in with the mesh, and three separate recolour packages with marble, tile and wood textures. All the textures are from TS4 kitchens and I edited them to get them to play nicely with a TS2 counter with a sink in it. (Coming Soon™). They all have a corresponding dirty state.

I've also added a PSD file for recolours to the folder. It includes greyscale versions of the four patterns I've used above, a dirt overlay, UV maps of the counter tops, and a template for where to copy and paste various sections of the texture to make it work if you want to have a matching counter, as you need to squish the texture a bit to get it into the right shape.

Sims 2 Mod: "Read Novel" want Satisfied...By...Reading a Novel!

I got so sick of this want clogging up my Wants panel, and it doesn't make sense that they can only read novels written by playable Sims to get this want.

So, this mod changes the resource "Read-Loop Reading" 0x2012

For any Simmers who were watching me on Twitch earlier today, I was actually putting the code into the wrong BHAV.

Now, it's coded properly and Sims will get the "Read Novel" want by reading the genres of books available with Apartment Life, NOT just "novels" written by playable Sims.

Sims 3t2 Traits Project - Athletic - Fixes and Edits

This mod fleshes out the Athletic trait in the Sims 2 (using 3t2 trait objects by Hexagonal Bipyramid) (Clumsy and Couch Potato are in there too)

Athletic Toddlers can escape cribs! Athletic Sims will enjoy basketball more! Athletic Sims will never fall during Yoga!

These two BHAVS and associated TPRP code for the Exercise Bike. Athletic Sims will use the Exercise Bike autonomously if their needs are okay. These are Yoga BHAVS. Clumsy Sims have a high chance of falling if their Body skill is 5/10 or less. Athletic Sims never fall. Athletic Sims are also able to do Yoga regardless of their Body skill level. They will do Yoga autonomously if their needs aren't shot.

This codes for children playing on the playground “look out” structure. Athletic children learn Body skill faster!

Put in Crib - Cry to Get Out 0x200E Group: 0x7F890CAC

This codes for toddler Sim behavior inside a crib. Unmodded, the code makes sure the toddler can walk and then allows them to escape the crib. My mod enables Athletic toddlers to be able to escape even if they haven't learned to walk. Also checks for Fun motive and Active personality.

Work Out - Find good Spot 0x2007 Group: 0x7F92832C

This is me incorporating this mod from MTS to hopefully allow Sims to work out using the television easier.

Interaction - Use - TEST 0x2007 Group: 0x7F9AB517

This is code in the group "Exercise Machine Globals" so it should affect darn near everything fitness-related?? I'm not sure. Athletic Sims, or Sims into the Fitness hobby, will autonomously exercise.

I removed the entire top part and recreated it using my edit of H&M mesh - fixed arm UVs, removed jeans underneath so nothing clips through, sleeves don't clip with hands as much. Sneakers had holes underneath - that could've been fixed by editing recolors but editing UVs was faster. Belly part behaves kinda weird while sitting, but it's acceptable. Mesh has new morphs.
