drawing is so stupid it truly makes you google shit like “table”
getting over the fear of being bad is so fucking hard… like, it’s literally a super power if you can start something and say ‘it doesn’t matter if it’s bad, it just matters that it exists’
‘bad’ is so terrifying, ‘bad’ is wrecking, and the ability to apply self-compassion to things deemed ‘bad’ is beyond amazing, to understand not everything in life will be ‘good’ and that’s okay
essays, art, novels, school, relationships, anyone out there starting things when they are terrified of the arbitrary metric of the result… I am so fucking proud of you, you are so brave and strong
keep starting new things, even if ‘bad’ is a possibility
jerking hard or hardly jerking lol

I think about this comic every day
You can tell when someone doesn't really have a strong ethical framework beyond a shallow "Listen To [Oppressed Person]" because they'll hear one person go "Healthcare should be universal" and another go "Racism is great" and they'll be like "Well they're both trans... :/"
I need you people to understand that there is not a single marginalized group that doesn't contain members with heinous, regressive beliefs, and trying to determine who to believe based on the ""validity of their experiences"" is no way to make political and ethical judgments
Soft boyo - head empty
Adults that tell little boys they shouldn’t cry are trash.
Quote from @SwampAdvice on Twitter (written by frequent collaborator on The CryptoNaturalist Podcast Leslie J Anderson).
Here is a secret about things you love. If you put them down you can always pick them back up again. You can always paint again, sew again, hike again, play music again, read that book again, watch the movie. “But it’s been so long.” The thing you love doesn’t care.
Why can’t it just be fine for anyone to look however the fuck they look. Why can’t anybody have big boobs or body hair or pattern baldness or muscles or curves no matter what gender they are. Why can’t anybody just be fat. Why does anybody still get mean about it. Why does anybody even still get mildly befuddled about it. Everybody’s looked like a bunch of ways for 200 thousand years
My advice to any and all of you would be:
Don’t tell your religious parents you’re an atheist/have joined another religion until after you move out.
Don’t tell your homophobic parents you’re gay until after you move out.
Don’t tell your transphobic parents you’re trans until after you move out.
Don’t feel invalidated in your identity because you have not told you parents. Sometimes your family are the last people that should be informed. Your safety is so much more important.
My advice is that if you have shitty but not quite abusive parents, gray rock them until you move out. Keep interactions as pleasant and short and surface-level as you can manage.
People have written a lot of touchy-feely pieces on this subject but I thought I’d get right to the heart of the matter
