Edit: hey guys sorry I’m taking a little break. I’ve been busy with schoolwork and family/friend problems and I haven’t had any energy to write. Whenever you ask for his name he just says “I am…. a medicine vendor” to which you first gleefully responded to with “hi medicine vendor, I’m dad”

He didn’t laugh. He doesn’t laugh often but his eyes crinkled just slightly more when you crack a joke.

He doesn’t like people. He’ll be polite and he’ll save them because he still cares and he’s not allowed to hurt humans. But he won’t go out of his way to interact with them and if a Mononoke ends up snatching the people who created it, whoops can’t save em all am I right?

You don’t blame him for that. He won’t tell you but you can guess from what you know of his job that he’s been witness to some the most depraved human acts imaginable. You can see how each time the reason of a Mononoke is revealed, his eyes hollow out with grim and unsurprised determination.

He much prefers to observe and learn from humans.

Humans are such strange things to him. In a lot of ways he’s just like them. He can feel happy, content, angry, frustrated, get upset on other’s behalf. Though by now he doesn’t feel as much joy as people do from forging relationships. He’s far too deeply intimate with the realities of what humans are capable of to ever really trust people. The only things that really get him excited are a finished hunt(and proving assholes wrong).

You’re an exception to that of course. At first he helped you because he was nice enough to give you the benefit of the doubt. You were a vulnerable human in need of assistance, you’ve done no harm as far as he can tell and if he left you to fend for yourself then wouldn’t he be just as bad as the creatures he’s despises? The world may be cruel so he won’t be.

He lets you travel with him and you do everything in your power to make sure that he doesn’t regret it or decide to dump you wherever. He may be nice but he’s awful at communicating. It takes you a while to realize that yes he does actually care about you. You listen to his directions, help out with keeping people calm or tending to their injuries. Overtime, he realizes that your kindness is genuine and it doesn’t take long for become to become fond of you.

You’re like a well loved dog to him. Fleeting and fragile, but oh so cared for.

He doesn’t tell you much about himself and he’s immune to any form of questioning or begging but there are little snippets you’ll get if you’re patient and observant enough.

You notice that he likes art, of all kinds. He doesn’t have any interest in making art himself but he enjoys looking at it. If there’s a performance somewhere you’re passing through he’ll take a break from traveling to watch it. Sometimes he’ll stare at paintings or tapestries a little bit too long and you have to call his name a few times to get him back on track.

The only art he’ll actually partake in is music. He’s no master but he can play a lot of instruments well enough and he’s a good dancer but it’s rare that he does those for fun. Usually he won’t do those things unless it has to do with hunting a Mononoke. The only music he makes for pleasure is singing which he does sometimes when you’re on the road traveling all day.

He’s very attentive. He’s no human(you’re sure of that even if he won’t tell you what he is), he doesn’t need to eat or sleep or drink(although he does enjoy those things time to time), but he knows that you do and he will make sure that you get enough. There’s no skipping meals or staying up late with him around!

Even if you aren’t someone who forgets meals he still asks whether or not you ate yet and if it was enough or are you still hungry.

His main job may be to slay Mononoke but he does sell actual medicine and has basic medical knowledge, though he’s no doctor.

One time he agrees to let you do his makeup(idk if it is makeup or tattoos but for this it’s makeup). You sit in his lap, holding his chin in your fingers while you delicately paint lines over his lips, eyes and cheeks.

Him sneaking his barrier papers into your clothes and belongings.

He also likes to stack them like card houses on your face while you sleep. It gets boring traveling sometimes.

This one is more personal because my hair sheds like a horse during spring. He finds your hair over all of his stuff. He even finds it in some of the drawers of his box.

It’s not strange for you to always be close to him. Mononoke’s are highly dangerous and unpredictable, you never truly know when will show up. There’s not much a human like you can do against Mononoke without his help so the safest place to be is usually within a few feet of him but still far enough that you don’t unintentionally get in his way.

If you ever get back to your time you WILL make sure that he tries soda at least once. It’s not that you really love soda it’s just that you can’t wait to see his expression when you don’t tell him about the carbonation.

Not even playing nonchalant since before your great great great great great grandparents were born can save him this time. Though it does help him manage to swallow his mouthful instead of spitting it out, he still cant manage to keep his face from scrunching up in a way that makes you laugh your absolute ass off. He then chugs the rest of it out of sheer spite and you almost piss yourself at his immediate expression of regret.

He does get back at you by putting iching powder or something on your pillowcase and never again trusting your food opinions(still worth it).

It's not everyday you and jabber get a chance to just lay back and relax like this, usually he's pricking you with mankira, testing poisions, or out catching fades left and right due to his insane greed for pain. You also are busy with your own missions and hobbies, to which are a lot more tame than fighting, let's just say that.

Although, obviously, today isn't that day. No missions, no fights, no pain and no having to deal with the cleaners. Just you and jabber resting together, which was well needed from the amount of stress jabber has given you, mostly from his new obsession of tryna get you to try "just a prick" of his NEW poison...yeah, hell naw.

With nothing else to do, you two lay in the bliss of laziness, the sin of sloth taking over the both of you and you've both struggled to move, all motivation to do anything completely vanishing into nothingness. Albiet, you were a little..on edge..

Why? Because jabber, the one guy who is utterly off his rocker and the most energetic person you know, is..staying still, and...not talking. At all, not in the past ten minutes. Still comforting being with him anyway, hard not to be considering, in your book, he's the only one not to bring down the mood.

"It's so nice and quiet.." you mumble, eyes droopy with sleep and the comfort of his presence looming next to you. The both of you laying on the ground instead of the bed next to you, one because jabber had tackled you down and two? You both didn't have the energy to get back up after that..

"Ya know...you sayin' that makes me wanna bother you." He sighs and ignores the immediate side eye you give him, full of betrayal and wariness that he absolutely adores and eats up.

"Why would you say that. Just why." You sigh and try to roll away from him but he groans and wraps his arms fully around you, very much objecting this act of escape from him.

"C'monnn..'is not my fault! You bring up the fact it's peacful and now i gotta ruin it!" He says as if that's an obvious rule you should know, and you just continue to try and budge from his grasp.

"Insane. Cat behavior." You scoff and try to budge further until he basically rolls over directly on top of you, leaning ALL of his weight on you. He probably even debated pricking you just to get you to chillax again. Also proving your point.

"Ghet awff of mhe!!" You demand in muffles, trying to push him away but he just gets even COZIER and shakes his head, a little satisfied smile etching across his face at the warmth you emit.

"You just lucky i ain't prick you yet, if ya stop fightin, i won't do it, i'll admit i been thinkin' about it." He threatens and lets out a chuckle at the way you immediately stilled.

You would like to say 'no you wouldn't'...but you know who this is. Yes he fucking would.

You gain whatever strength you have left, and you toss him to the side, glory washing over you as you victoriously take two steps and dramatically reach for the door, everything moving in slow mo..until you feel someone basically toss themselves against you. Oh, guess who THAT could be.

Oh and what's that? A prick of something sharp? And the sound of michevious giggles from someone wayy too amused by all this? Jabber.

"gotcha!" He laughed, knocking you down onto the ground once more, pricking you with mankira and watching as the horror washes over your face at having to go through another dream trip, ONCE AGAIN.

"Damn, not even gonna cuss me out?" He pouts a bit, expecting a bit more fight from you after he ruined your attempts at escape. He waits a few seconds for an answer, and lifts his head to look down at you just to find you fast asleep.

"Huh." He tilts his head, dumbfounded by how quickly you fell asleep. Maybe next time he'll get some fighting words out of you.

Just for fair game (totally..) he pricked himself, too. Just for you.

Yeah, cthoni walked into your room just to see the sight of you and jabber completely knocked out, snoozing, and all the same exactly where you wanna be. It'll take a few hours for the both of you to wake up, so she just leaves. Both bothered and swiftly moving on.

He doesn't know how he ended up here, at some point he just started to follow you along as you both talked, and now he's sitting here next to you outside your bathtub, busy polishing assistaff as you lay back and enjoy the warmth of the strawberry scented bathbomb you used.

Zanka took a once over look of assistaff before nodding to himself that he was satisfied with the fresh re-paint he gave her and the glossy look she now bears. His heart overwhelmed with joy at the sight of his prized posession, until he remembered you and glanced over his shoulder.

"At this point, yer gonna fall asleep in there.." he comments, making you peel an eye open and look at him with a little smile.

"Most likely, i'm with my favorite person and in the most relaxing bath, how could i not?" You chuckle and lean even further into the water that zanka just sighs and tried to brush off your comment of him being your favorite.

"Ya throw that 'round so casually."

"It's true?" You giggle, seeing him fully turn away so you don't see the embarrassment on his face (and also the smile).

although he's quick to look back in alarm when he hears the water swish around and see you now leaning on the rim of the tub, feeling an urge to lean away because of your vulnerability.

"Y'know...people say you grow tired around people you love, or are particularly fond of. You let out a lot of oxytocin, which causes it. You also just feel safe." You inform happily, feeling complete bliss from just being next to him meanwhile zanka is busy taking in your information.

"Yer gettin' water everywhere..." He brushes you off again, just enough to make you pout this time and you lean further towards him to stress him out more. He didn't think you'd feel this safe with him.

"Stop trying to act cool! You aren't easily replaceable, ya know!" You scoff, easily offended by his nonchalant behavior towards you. "Assistaff looks nice, though."

He side-eyed you for a moment before turning to assistaff aswell and holding her up to the light of the bathroom.

"J'st polished her—"

"Could you polish my vital instrument? Please?" You bat your eyelashes to him, practically giving him puppy dog eyes that he never refuses to, he doesn't say it but he likes making you happy just as much as you like making him happy.

"Why didn'tya do that before yer bath?" He judged and stood up, moving anyways to go find your jinki.

"i forgot." You simply stated and zanka could only roll his eyes at your behavior before stepping out of the bathroom.

He took a look around your room, realizing after a few glances that, unfortunately, he'll have to put effort into looking for this thing. Cursing you silently as he moved about the room, opening drawers and lifting various items until he finally found your jinki.

He walked back into the bathroom and looked up at you the second you groaned and decided to tease him with; "you took so longggg!"

..probably shouldnt've, because he tossed your vital instrument into the water with you and accidentally spooked you, which caused an even bigger mess of water splashing everywhere.

"Then ya shouldn't have shit everywhere in yer room! It's a goddamn maze in there!" He argued and huffed with an unfathomable amount of sass.

"M-MY BATH?!" you shrieked and he covered his ears with his hands, your once calming bath now turning into a full fledged argument with him.

Not like it mattered, it only took an hour until you two were back together and sitting on one of the couches, with you invading his space as always and him having to deal with it.

How good are they at driving?(Gachiakuta addition)

Enjin: We already know this one. Bad. Moving on.

Gris: We know this one too. Good. Moving on.

Tamsy: Average in all aspects. Will headbang so hard he’s basically smacking his forehead into the steering wheel to his music when he’s waiting at a light. It’s pretty concerning to anyone also waiting at the light. When the light turns green he’ll stop and smile at anyone who saw him before driving off.

Semiu: Safely average. Will swerve the car on accident if she sees a pretty woman or will speed to catch up to one in another car though.

August: Drives as bad as Enjin but blasts music louder and ALWAYS has all windows down. Would have one of those cars with the removable roof.

Riyo: Pretty average but more on the risky side. Usually stays at least a few miles above the speed limit and will break a driving law if if it’s more convenient and no one is around.

Zanka: Again, pretty average but on the more cautious side. Rarely goes above the speed limit and follows all driving laws.

Rudo: Can’t drive yet but when he does HUGE road rage problem. Will get mad at people for passing or tailgating him and will yell out the window at them. He will also easy get baited into street racing random people.

Fu: Really does try but gets super nervous about not messing up and getting other drivers angry at him that he actually drives bad. Constantly speeding up or slowing down because he can’t decide which speed is the one he’s supposed to be at. Same with turns, he can’t decide how fast or how sharp to take them or when to start slowing down that he’ll often hit curbs.

Jabber: I know what you’re thinking. Who the fuck gave him a license? The answer is no one. There are no driving laws for Jabber. The only wrong side of the road to be on is his. As soon as he gets on the road you’re done. If a cop tries to pulls him over he’d immediately hit the gas and swerve off the road. It doesn’t matter if he’s next to trees, a cliff, a building, or an open field. He will then keep driving and pressing as hard as he can on the gas until the car inevitably crashes into something. Then he’ll get out(somehow mostly unharmed) and either run away or fight the cops just because, depending on what mood he’s in.

“I’m not a babysitter” Gojo had said years ago. Of course he then proceeded to go become a teacher and pick up every stray kid in sight. He has never been perfect but he truly does love his job. Helping and watching kids as they grow not just as sorcerers but as people too. Everytime a student reaches a higher grade, or smiles for the first time in a while, or helps a random pedestrian, it gives him a high like no other.

If someone asked him what he thought his greatest achievement was they’d probably expect something to do with his status as the strongest. Instead, he’d turn and point towards every wonderful person who he’s ever had the privilege of guiding.

So when he stumbled upon an alleyway coated in bits of curse like blood in a slasher movie, saw you crouched in the middle of the carnage, covered in grime, he knew you were next. You whirled around to glare at the unfamiliar man, brandishing a kitchen knife like how an animal bares its teeth.

You had no cursed energy of her own, only the weak output of the cursed knife. As the strongest, Gojo didn’t often get impressed by other people’s powers. But here you were leaving a trail of defeated curses in your wake without being able to even see them. Even he had to admit that you were skilled.

It took a bit for him to convince you to come with him. You reminded him of a feral cat. Someone who didn’t get the proper touch as a kitten that was needed to develop a good relationship with humans and as such reacted to pets with hissing and clawing. Gojo is not a naturally patient man but he will be if he needs to.

He started with asking you what you knew about curses. You responded “curses?” And he realized that you were indeed fighting creatures that you couldn’t see without any real training. He told you then what curses were and that your knife was a cursed object and that’s why you were able to exorcise curses with it. It was clear you had no idea where you found your knife, just that it worked against the creatures so he’d have to wait to find out how exactly it came into your non sorcerer hands. He told you about jujutsu high and that they could use a student like you.

You were distrustful of this random man who found you, I mean who wouldn’t be? And it was clear that you didn’t have a home to go back to or a good source of food so he started there.

He brought you to the closest fast food place he could find and you tore into your meal like you hadn’t eaten in days(you probably hadn’t). It took a bit more convincing to get you to go back to jujutsu high with him though. And by convincing he means picking you up and teleporting you both there. It’s not kidnapping if you have no where else to go 🙄.

Actually getting you enrolled into the school would be a bit of a longer process and you weren’t quite in a state able to handle that yet, but for now you could stay in one of the spare rooms. You avoided him like the plague for the most part, rarely leaving your room except to steal food and water. You spent the rest of your time fortifying your room to be as best defended as possible and plotting escape plans. They never worked of course, you can’t hide from a user of the six eyes, although you did keep him on his toes with how creative you got.

You disliked the other students just as much. They would invited you to train or hang out with them all the time, or leave food on your doorstep if they went out to eat. You had to admit that you appreciated it but you still couldn’t trust that they had good intentions.

You couldn’t stay like that forever though and one day you snuck out just to watch the others train. You tensed when Yuji saw you but he only gave you a smile and a wave. You kept going to training then, day after day. They’d never punish or approach you, just letting you watch them from afar.

So, you eventually worked up the courage to walk up to them ask to spar. It was Nobara who agreed to be your sparring partner and although you were naturally gifted and passionate, Nobara had experience and formal training and was the eventual victor.

You didn’t give up though, you kept coming back and sparring with them. You even asked Gojo to give you one on one lessons, something that he was incredibly proud of you for, and he gave you your own pair of glasses to be able to see curses(you kept your knife though). Everyday you got stronger, as did your trust in them. They never belittled you, hit you(outside of sparring), encouraged you when you messed up, and when you finally did hand Nobara her ass in sparring, she laughed and congratulated you.

You were close with your peers now, but not as close as you were with your sensei.

Overtime you began to trust him. He’d bring you your favorite foods, give you space when you needed it, distracted you when memories filled your head, wiped your tears with his sleeve, held you whenever you had a nightmare. He proved over and over again that’d he’d be there to take care of you. You felt safe with him around. After all, what could hurt you with his fingers combing through your hair and the thrum of his infinity encasing you both.

And when you were ready, he asked you to officially enroll in the school.

It was a pretty emotional day, even if it was only the beginning of your jujutsu career, it was still a big step for you and Gojo was there practically bouncing off of walls with how excited he was. You both may have cried a bit and afterwards he took you out to eat at whatever restaurant you wanted of course(no matter how expensive), maybe with the other students or just you two if you would prefer.

He assured you that you were safe here in Jujutsu High, and that you’d always have a place with him and the other students and you believed him.

Eisha has always had trouble making friends. It’s not that she doesn’t get along with people it’s just that whenever she meets someone new her nerves kick in and she’s suddenly too anxious to keep a conversation.

So when you walked in; someone with the same interests as her and who has patience in spades, it was like penicillin to strep throat.

You start by asking her to help you read through medical journals, after all you have to keep up to date on any advances in medicine and refresh your memories.

It helps to bring her out of her shell a bit and she’s more comfortable talking with people when it’s related to her job.

You didn’t tell her to hurry up when her voice stuttered, you didn’t push her to speak when there were long stretches of silence between you, letting her choose your interactions on her own terms and with her own confidence.

Her self-esteem grows everyday with you.

And if she ever has a bad day you’re right there to assure her in her abilities.

You defend her if a patient or loved one of a patient or anyone really gets out of line and starts to question her nursing skills.

She appreciates your help and support more than she can ever tell you.

Overtime, she becomes more sure of herself and a more outspoken young woman. Sticking up for herself and actually starting conversations with other people outside of a professional capacity.

You help her grow not only as a person but as a nurse too. Since you’re more experienced, you’re always ready to help teach her more effective treatments or give a second opinion on a diagnosis.

She still makes mistakes of course but you’re there to gently correct her when she does.

One day you’re both prepping the infirmary in the morning and she walks up to you and gives you a tight hug.

With heartfelt tears in your eyes she thanks you for all that you’ve done for her.

“Tamsy. Tamssyyyyyy. It’s time to get up.” The pile of fabrics and long, silky hair let out a low groan, the only sign of life. He’s never been a morning person as long as you’ve known him. You can understand it, you hate waking up too but he seems to loathe it with a burning passion.

“Cmon! you promised to take me shopping for things to add to my room!” He gives you a slightly more energetic reaction to that(‘more energetic’ being the equivalent of going from -10 to -8), a mumble that you can’t make out but was probably something along the lines of ‘just five more minutes’, and him pulling his blanket further over his head.

“It’s already one in the afternoon! At this rate we’ll only have a couple of hours until all of the shops close!” He doesn’t answer to that so you grab the edge of his blanket and begin to yank. Unfortunately, even three quarters of the way asleep he’s strong and if you keep tugging you’ll end up ripping it.

You flop onto his bed, then roll over to drape your full entire weight on him. “Tamsyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!” You whine into his ear.

“Damn alright, alright! I’m up! Just get off me!” he snaps, using his legs to kick and send you tumbling down onto the floor. It doesn’t hurt at all of course, you’ve fallen from far greater heights.

You giggle as you watch him stomp over to his desk to turn on his radio, then to his closet to pick through his clothing options. “How did you get in here anyways?”

“Riyo taught me how to pick locks!” You say from where you were splayed in middle of his bed, having climbed back up.

“Of course she did,” he mutters and walks to the opposite side of his room. “Close your eyes.”

You oblige, dropping your head forward to bury it in his sheets while listening to the sounds of clothes shuffling and fairly loud heavy metal music.

“Okay you can look now.”

You lift your head and stare at the pictures on his wall. Most of it is landscape paintings but there’s a photograph of you both after your first mission mostly on your own. You’re grinning wide and true, holding up two fingers behind Tamsy’s head while his arm wrapped around your shoulder and held you at his side, pressing a kiss to your cheek.

It was rare for him to express his affection physically, especially in public. Usually only a hug or a hand on your shoulder here and there if you needed the comfort. You never minded it. He just preferred to show his love through his actions. Even still, you treasured every scarce hug.

You were so incredibly happy that day. There ended up being a lot more stronger trash beasts than anyone anticipated but still you managed to figure out how to defeat them all without having to ask your mentor for help. When you finally finished he gave you the biggest smile you’ve ever seen on him and gave you the tightest hug. Even Enjin took you(along with his kids but you weren’t picky) out to dinner when you got back.
