Something told her she hadn't heard the last of Joss - that girl was headed somewhere in life, she just knew it.

"I don’t drink, no." He shook his head, not willing to elaborate.

"I really don’t want to say anything in the fear that it will change the future and I’ll cease to be," He put his hands up defensively. "I mean, I’ll still be me but you will never meet me because of alternate timelines. It’s complicated.”

There was a long pause as he looked at his feet. “Maybe I should just go.”

January pursed her lips at his assertion he didn't drink, undeniably disappointed. "Hmpf. Fair enough, I suppose" She didn't understand how anyone in their right mind could turn down an offer of free alcohol, but she didn't push the matter. She'd wind up drinking later no matter what, so when she started wasn't really all that important.

"Alternat-" Any understanding of time travel January had was minimal, so she cut herself off with a quick shake of her head and a wave of her hand. "Look, you know I don't understand any of that stuff. Much more Frexa's area than mine... She'd be proud, you know. That you were sticking to the rules." A small smile slipped onto her lips, and her stance softened. She couldn't shake the feeling he hadn't been told much by his parents that they were proud of him.

Eyes widening at the suggestion he should leave, January took a slight step towards Godric "No- no! You don't have to go,"  Her arms moved with her as she talked, reaching out to him ever so slightly before dropping to her sides as she let out a breath. "I shouldn't have pushed it. We can talk about something else, it doesn't matter"

"He’s not my boyfriend," She sighed in annoyance. Everybody always assumed that.

She looked at Alice, her eyes sad an full of affection. She didn’t want to just snub Jan. It was her best friend, but not doing so would cause or problem in the future. 

"I’m sorry, dear but we can’t tell you yet. Please don’t push the point. We really must be going." She gave buddy a look and began down the path again, back the way they came.

Buddy took the time to lean in and whisper “just because you were seduced, doesn’t mean I was trying,” and throw a wink to her before following like an obedient puppy.

Sighing with frustration, Alice tried her best to cross her arms over her chest whilst still keeping ahold of her sketchpad. "Then surely he can talk to whoever he likes?" She bristled with a glare. They were the one's who'd disturbed her walk, after all - why were they now so keen to snub her off?

"Mmhm. Sure" Her tone was more disappointed than annoyed and she gave a dismissive hand gesture as the woman began down the path, beckoning the man after her. His whisperings brought a grin to her lips, however, and she shot him a teasing glance, "I never said you were succeeding with the seduction~"

There was no point in following after them as they left, Alice had learned that much; but she wasn't going to let that get away that easy. Both of them still had a lot of explaining to do. "My name's Alice, by the way! Just in case you wanted to know!" She called loudly after them, in one seemingly final goodbye, watching as they walked down the path.

If they weren't going to tell her the thing she wanted to know, she'd find out some other way. Now all she had to do was find a way to follow them without getting spotted...

The night air is crisp and pleasant and he lets his eyes flash red again for just a moment, since she appreciated it so much last time. “Which way, Ms. Gaines?”

A flirtatious hum left her lips at his teasing, "Oh, is that so? I might just keep that in mind..." Her voice was almost a purr, and she raised an eyebrow suggestively. Their little game of seduction, toying with one another in such a way that January wasn't entirely sure just who had the upper hand, remained just as enthralling to the girl as ever.

Flicking from amorous to nonchalant in a mere moment, she shrugged at the mention of the name "Dean? No meaning to me, no..." January paused, a curious glance at the man. "Should it be meaningful?"

After taking a moment to nod at the man's chosen name (Jason... a little dull, she thought - she'd much rather continue with using her nickname), January followed him out of the door with eager steps. The red flash of his eyes sent a shiver of excitement down her spine, and she gave an impressed grin, looking him over with exhilarated eyes. "Left," She instructed, tone dripping with an almost electric energy and her eyes still lingering for a second before she began to walk.

Jan had no doubt - tonight would certainly be interesting, to say the least...

Alida felt the comfort that someone was on her side as she watched the world pass by outside her window.

Eilif thought this upstart bitch has no right to make demands of them like that. They had taken her in and she should just be grateful he didn’t just assume she was infected and shoot her. He only didn’t speak because his sisters would kill him.

Hatchett read the subtext- that there was something Jan wasn’t saying; that maybe something has happened to people she knew and was worried about it happening again. She decided to ask her later.

"What’s that?" Buddy called out, ducking into the back of the jeep. He was mostly oblivious to the argument, apart from the icy silence when he looked inside.

"There’s something up ahead," He pointed at the windscreen, drawing their attention to what he had seen.

The icy quiet left hanging in the air sent a shiver up January's spine, leaving her frozen in her slumped state, fearful that any noise caused by movement could shatter the whole vehicle. She shouldn't have said anything - it wasn't her place to comment, and it certainly wouldn't have gained her any popularity. Silently, she pledged to herself to keep her mouth shut from now on; she wasn't about to let a few careless words cost her life.

It had taken a lot of restraint for January not to let out a sigh of relief as Buddy slid back into the car, refreshingly ignorant of the argument that had gripped the car just moments ago. Propping herself up from her seat to get a better look, January's gaze followed his pointing hand, coming to land just off the side of the road. Something was moving...

No... Someone was moving.

The silhouette of a man was just barely evident through the foliage and leaves blocking her view. He was stood, leaning up against the thick bark trunk of a tree, fingers grasped tightly around something seemingly metal that glinted in the sunlight. He barely moved; only leaning, panting, staring off into distance (at what, January had no idea) with his back to the road.

"Shit." It was a quiet murmur under her breath, all that she'd allow herself to express after her last slip up. It was impossible to tell from the car just what he was - human, or walker  - but either way all he spelled was trouble for January. If he was human, who knew what state he was in? He'd be a waste of resources. Worse if he was a walker, since he could attract the whole horde.

She shot a glance to Buddy, then Hatchett, waiting to see their reactions before commenting. January didn't think it was worth the risk to stop... but if that wasn't the popular opinion, this time she'd keep her stupid mouth shut.

January giggled with a slight shake of her head, shifting her gaze away from his eyes as she replied, quoting the moment from Frozen; “Go away, Clayton.” A wide smile was across her lips when she looked back to him, shoving him playfully in the arm before placing a quick kiss on his cheek.
