I will admit, I have had a long sabbatical from writing, however in that time I’ve been working on a new project to get me back into writing, something that I at least haven’t seen done before, something that’s had my overtly complex planning phases draft an entire new AU based upon another AU.
I present to you, inspired and loosely based upon concepts from the Agreste Twins AU by @edorazzi, Personnage Divisé, or Divided Character, an AU inspired loosely by the experiences of Dissociative Identity Disorder which will start to be explored in a few chapters time after the resemblent instance develops.
Set after the death of a twin, the parents are driven to desperation, yet when the mother disappears without a word to the remaining twin, who'd fallen into feeling neglected from his parents obsession over a project he was kept in the dark from, on the anniversary of his twin's death, the father becomes more and more frenzied until he finds a way to return what was once deemed lost, albeit being a compromise with a cost for the twin who lived on.

Disclaimer: This is in no way an entirely accurate representation of DID, particularly the development of the instance and the prior backstory to the alter being obviously notable examples of this diversion from realism (as is obvious in the summary above alone), whilst it is designed to be a resemblance of the experiences and effect that one may experience living with an alter once the story has passed what is essentially the phase of setting up the scene for the parts which resemble DID to continue from, this also does not imply that what is described fully resembles universal experiences as such a thing simply doesn’t exist outside of some very broad scenarios and concepts. I also wish to state that I am no expert in DID and I welcome all criticisms from anybody with insight into the field as I’m writing primarily from my own experiences as well as what I’ve gathered from others with DID.
