Why is Inside Job trying to convince me that the main characters are white? You couldn't of added a bit less melanin to convince me?? 🤣🤣🤣

Being neurodivergent is not a choice. Neither is being neurotypical.
Think about that next time you call a harmful person "neurotypical". Do you know if they're neurotypical? The correct answer is no. You do not. And, most likely, they do not know if they are neurodivergent. So you do not know who you are complaining about. Just stick with calling them a bully instead of assuming all NDs are good and all NTs are bad. It's ignorant, unrealistic, and shameful to the ND community.

It is offensive when people believe that women can not handle the consequences of our own actions. ✅️
Like when a woman hurts a guy - physically, emotionally, financially, or mentally - and the guy rightfully defends himself. Not every situation is "Oh, well, the guy did something really bad that deserved it, so!" Many times, it really is that the guy is the victim. They're people too, fucking duh. They can be used and killed like us, regardless of what the world says and women want to ignore. ✅️
But instead of fussing out the grown ass woman, they fuss out the guy! Why not her for doing the wrong thing, or at least fussing out the both of them to get the full story!? ✅️
To me, this says that the public believe that women are too weak to be able to handle their own consequences, and the men should shoulder all the weight while girls are too weak to take it. Because WE know girls can grow and learn from the consequences of their actions. It's obvious. But why don't they think we can? ✅️
People don't take it seriously because it's not the saddening kind of misogyny. It's just the kind of misogyny that we can relax in because it is in our favor. It's inwardly degrading, but because people don't see it immediately, they think it's good. Protective. Loving. ✅️
That makes it worse, however, because it means other forms will always have a place to live. If a woman should "stay in her place," then, 'protecting her' from that growth will keep her there. ✅️
If a woman does something wrong, it is harming her growth to support those wrongs. Period. It doesn't change because "oh! But history! If a man does something wrong-" Nobody said men shouldn't go through the consequences of their actions. I SAID that women still need to grow, regardless, and "protecting us" from our consequences harms our growth.
Don't ever stop a woman from growing because you don't feel like men don't get punished enough or because you wanna protect women. There are other people being hurt by those harmful actions. Don't dehumanize them in the name of Women.
This is only a criticism on how I've seen too many books and films and shows banking on using this specific sexual assault trauma to look deep and feminist without any of the depth involved, not on real life trauma.
The worst way to portray the sexual assault women/people go through is by having the victim willing to be alone with the person who is about to hurt them.
Don't get me wrong- this happens. Maybe people change their mind the last minute or are manipulated, so having a character do so- with good communication to the audience- is fine and can make a story better.
But the problem is that most shows and books that use this method don't go as deep as they think they do.
Many shows ((the ones I am thinking of now, but I've seen others do this) I-Land, Degrassi) and comics (specifically (the one I am thinking about is) The Ribbon Queen) do this thing;
Character A is romantic with character B- who they just met and do not know in any way. They willingly go to a room alone with this person. THEY SEE THE DOOR CLOSE (or realize they are alone with others being too far to call too), but A is still happy being with B despite the impending horror that should arrive at this point. They might get nervous, but obviously, they still trust them.
Then, they kiss, and A's all happy still, until B tries to force sex, in which A is all of a sudden scared and traumatized.
The problem with these scenes, is that it makes it look like the victim is a fucking idiot.
Yes, A is still a victim, but the difference is- A is often old enough to see the moment they should have said no just to be safe. Even at 16, you understand the concept of stranger danger. They don't know them! That should be enough to be careful! But they won't, and something happens due to it.
But then you could say, "Hey! They wouldn't have listened!" Yes! But unlike being pulled or drunk or manipulated into an uncomfortable situation, they are fully aware of how bad this could be and just don't care until it is too late.
Yeah, folks do dumb things, and the person is still a victim regardless. However, when the victim trusts the unknown person the entire time, DESPITE the warning signs and knowing how society thinks about sex,
1. It is a valid story, but without more depth, It makes it look like we ask to get raped bc we're too trusting and dumb to notice the obvious and glaringly radioactive red flags.
2. It's harder to understand someone's (who has gone through this particular) sexual assault as more than just a "consequence of their lack of awareness." Think about it. There are kids being manipulated by rapey uncles and families who won't believe them bc they won't break up the family. There are boys and girls in war-torn countries being used in the worst way possible bc they are not seen as human in the eyes of the opposition. Hell, boys can't even talk about sexual assault without a bunch of women saying the same things misogynists have told them just because they literally assume they just want attention (again, when the misogynists have done and said to them.) There are drunk people who wake up without even knowing what happened! Why would someone care about a grown person who should've known better and just didn't care until it was too late! There's others to worry about!
This is different because the person usually says no from the beginning OR truly believes they want it, but changes their mind.
In this case, character A said yes the entire time, and then- unless they were born on Mars and don't know how people work- I guess they figured they were gonna play some fuckin Mario Kart because they're SURPRISED when the abuser tries to rape them, or thinks the "no, no, no" is all a game.
The worst part is, these are often people who KNOW how the world thinks of sex and would be just as confused if a person went into a locked room with someone and came out saying they were raped.
WHY WOULD YOU GO INTO A LOCKED/CLOSED ROOM WITH A PERSON YOU DON'T KNOW IF YOU DIDN'T WANT TO HAVE SEX!? IF THEY WANTED TO JUST TALK, THEY WOULD HAVE DONE IT IN PUBLIC! NOT ALONE!
Once again, all rape stories are valid. None is less painful than the other. I just think if any entertainment media wants to have a serious, valid and thought provoking talk about the shit women and/or sexual assault victims go through; they can't constantly bank on the one situation that- if used without any depth or care- makes the victims look more like idiots who stood in front of a racing car and got surprised when they were hit.
I watched the Dune movie for the first time. Loved it.
But now I am reading the first book, and let me tell you; the first chapter is already more intriguing than the beginning of the movie.

"Oh no! My favorite celebrity did something discriminatory and evil back when everyone else was doing it, too! Oh no! They're evil NOW!"
Or, they changed over time. You don't gotta forgive them, but if you wanna convince me, instead of looking for something that happened 16 years ago. Give me something from within at least a few years, and then we'll talk. But if we hate every single person who ever did everything shitty without giving them a chance to change
May as well never look a person in the eye again.
Turns out, writing is so much easier when you have one of those study session videos on. I straight up worked for about 6 out of the 7 hours without getting too distracted. I usually do a podcast (my fav being Every Frame a Pause or EFAP!) But sometimes even that doesn't work.
At least, with studying, it makes me feel like we all workin.
Makes you feel less alone 🥰
There’s a snow storm outside my window. I’m feeling kind of spontaneous. Spontaneous enough to post the first chapter of a fic I just wrote on a whim?
Hey, do it! I'm stormed in, too! No work, and I'm thinkin about doin something crazy today, too 🤔
Watching a lot of Spanish shows makes me realize that a lot of white people are more Spanish than they think 🤔
I am currently watching "Discovery of Witches" and it is so dumb.
What is up with some of these shows trying to make me feel for vampires? "Vampires and Witches should be together! Vampires are people too! Vampires should be able to love anyone! Fuck the old rules!"
BRO! IT'S A VAMPIRE! THEY EAT YOU FOR POWER AND STRENGTH! WE ARE THE VEGETABLES, THE PROTEIN BARS, AND THE STEROIDS TO THEM!
Fuck you mean, "Interspecies relationships should be allowed!" It's a VAMPIRE! If one wants to abuse you it will SUCK YOUR BLOOD and if it can't control itself, YOUR DEAD!
And demons... you mean those things that torture us in hell? This dude really said "You know demon suicides are on the rise? Homelessness?" WHY THE FUCK SHOULD I CARE ABOUT A DEMON'S
Like, each species is really sitting here, talking about the ignorance of each species (but especially the humans, the weakest ones but they're so STUPID AND IGNORANT even tho we have no abilities or connection to magic and it's not our fault but WE'RE THE WORST!) like they're minorities in the 60's.
It's pathetic because it's not having an actual conversation about the bigotry between each other - it's just saying, "Bigotry bad! Acceptance good!" Even though it's different between bloodsuckers and those who can curse someone because their coffee had whole milk instead of oat milk.
My people are human, Latinos are human. White people are human. Asians are human. That's why the "bigotry bad, acceptance good!" Works.
Vampires FUCKING DRINK HUMANS! Witches are a bit safer, but a bad mental health day can KILL someone. Demons torture humans!
I, the rabbit, am not going to give a shit about the soul of a wolf when I know it can eat me whenever.
This is so stupid.
Now, I am not saying the show is woke or harmful to society because it's a stupid fantasy show. It is just plain dumb.
However, this is a great example of what I mean when I complain about wokeness. Not "gay characters exist" or "i won't watch the movie if the mc is black."
But "vampires, witches, and demons are just as people as everyone else and their differences just make them unique 🥰" kind of bullshit. Because they're not, but I'm supposed to be blinded by their love and trauma and ignore the other shit? Uh, no.
One drinks humans, the other can curse them, and the third tortures them after death, but hey! Don't we all? 🥰
It is literally snowing- a fucking blizzard- outside and every other department has gotten a message that they are allowed to leave.
Except us.
BUT HEY, WE DID GET A MESSAGE SAYING NOT TO COME TO WORK IN RESPECT FOR JIMMY CARTER'S FUNERAL SO LOOK AT THE FUCKING BRIGHTSIDE EVERYONE!
We're snowed in but HEY! FREE DAY!
And before you say "Just walk out." I like my job, ok? I need the money. Don't judge.
I like how F is for Family portrays the impacts of a destructive and bigoted society and how it harms the mindset of any family. The show genuinely portrays the impacts of discrimination and putting societal expectations over human values way better than (too many) shows today, that try to spread a message but ultimately is just a diary on how much the creator hates white people (or anyone that's not them while also harming the ones who are by acting like a damn fool)
