Not much focus on rehabilitation

This seems like a good time to mention the Prisoners Literature Project and Inside Books Project. Both of these organizations send free books to incarcerated people, and are always looking for donations - both books and money -and volunteers! (Prisoners literature project sends books everywhere but Texas - Inside Books project is just Texas).

A Palestinian doctor on Wednesday lost his last Israeli court appeal for compensation over the killing of his three daughters and a niece in

Yet another proof that nothing in the Israeli regime can be humane, including its so called "justice" system.

The doctor, Izzeldin Abuelaish, whose three daughters Mayar, 15, Ayah, 13, and Bessan, 21, and his niece Nour, 14, were killed by Israeli tank bombings of their house in Gaza strip. There were 25 people at the house then, his children and his brothers' children. 2 of them (including one of his daughters) were severely injured. The doctor has been working in Israeli hospitals at the time.

The Israeli military had position tanks near his home, he had contacted the media and it was proved that the doctor had contacted the military and the tanks indeed moved since he is a doctor working in Israel.

But all his relentless efforts, and his years work as a doctor saving the lives of Palestinians and Israelis alike, were not enough.

Minutes after his daughters were killed he contacted the media person he knew and spoke to a few hours before, and his cries of grief were heard on live television.

Izzeldin Abuelaish had sued israel for killing innocent civilians. During the trial it was conveniently brought up that the shrapnel that killed the girls may have been from weapons concealed at the house, that exploded due to the Israel bombardment.

The district court and now maintained by the Israeli Supreme Court decided that the military is not liable for wartime actions.

Personally, I don't care if they had the top people of Hamas or hidden weapons (which I completely don't believe btw, israel is notorious for its fabrications and carelessness). There were civilians in the building which the military was well aware of and they still chose to target the building with tank fire. They knew and simply did not care. Just like they didn't care about the 1417 people they killed in the same war, the 1417 killed in the next war in 2012 the over 2000 gazan killed in the next war in 2014, or the 256 killed in the recent war of may 2021.

the reason bisexual and nonbinary people get so much hate is because we challenge the idea that people can be separated into little boxes to stop them from mixing with and “corrupting” the others. doesn’t matter which bathroom i use, if they’re marked with a binary gender then i’m gonna be in there with people who aren’t my gender. doesn’t matter who i date (or don’t), there’s always the potential that i could date someone with a gender different from previous partners. we are living breathing proof that any attempt to contain human gender & sexuality is doomed to failure and i think that’s very sexy of us
