iâve had this url for four years if you think iâm releasing it bitch u thought
âLilies.â He deadpanned. âIf you want to help, I wonât say no. You can set them down on that coffin over there- Iâve been using it as a dinner table, itâs very flat- and Iâll manage from there.âÂ
âI shall remember that for next time then.â He set down the first batch of flowers on the coffin, albeit a bit cautiously. âAh-- is this by chance occupied?â
âWatch it,â she snapped, pushing back a little. âRoadâs crowded enough, youâll get where youâre goinâ soon enough.â
âWell excuse me if itâs hard to see,â he replied, voice muffled around the swathes of flowers in his arms.
âAnd here I was, thinking they were for me. Thank you, sir. Iâll make sure these get to their graves.â
âAh, sorry-- I donât give people flowers unless I know their favourites.â He laughed just a bit. âEr-- you sure you donât need some help? Thereâs quite a lot of flowers.â
âWhat, do you have a dead body for me, or are you staring for another reason?âÂ
âIâm actually here to deliver the floral arrangements ordered on behalf of your... ah, clients.â
âOf course Iâm jokingâ Gogo laughed at how protective he seemed to get over the plants. âI get my adrenaline in other ways. Iâll make sure they stay safe from anyone who actually wants to break themâ She reassured him.Â
He didnât fully relax. âI still donât know if I trust you. These plants are fragile, okay?â He wouldnât say outloud that they were living organisms in case he sounded like a weirdo.
âPeople get careless when they see something they want.â She shrugged. âHey man, startup funds would be so easy to get. All we gotta do is get some pictures of our future mermaids splashing around in some water and show them to old business men. Theyâre skeevy enough to throw money at us. We take their money, build our awesome aquarium with extra wide bathrooms, and get rich. Super easy, yeah?âÂ
âThatâs weird mate. Canât really imagine that myself.â He snorted. âAre you sure? I mean, itâs worth a try I guess. No one is gonna agree to be an exploited mermaid though.â
âNo, I look distinguished and manly. You just look sad and skinny.â He smirked. âWhy so worried, ass? You think Cal has some dirty secrets of yours that sheâd share with me?âÂ
He laughed at that. âIâm ripped, mate. Just because your biceps are thicker than ya head doesnât mean youâre stronger than I am.â He pointed a finger upwards. âFor one thing, thatâs a lame insult. For two, I donât have anything to be ashamed of, I just canât believe youâve actually met her.â He was getting on his nerves.
âWell, you are older than me, so Iâll give you that, at least. But I still stand by my word that you arenât old. Thirty five is still young in my books.â She nodded at his question, hands still clasped around her teacup. âSomewhat, I suppose. Iâve been here nearly a year now, I believe.â Time had seemed to move so fast here, she had actually lost track of how long sheâd been here before, though it wasnât as if she was really counting the days anyway.
He laughed, shrugging lackadaisically. âI suppose youâre right. My perspectiveâs just a bit different, I guess.â He found it hard to have a comparison of ages when he had no family to grow up with. He brought his cup to his lips, considering her response. âSo youâre not as fresh-faced as I thought. Where do you work? I donât think Iâve run into you much before.â
âIâm 6â˛5, and you look like youâre ten. Thatâs what Iâm saying about you.â He shrugged. âCal does always catch them. I trust her judgement. Which is why Iâm going to defer to her opinion of you, despite your sparkling first impression.âÂ
He puffed up even more, like an offended porcupine. âI look more like an adult than you do, yâ look like a bald baby in a muscle suit.â He was raring to sock this guy right where it hurt and it showed in how tense his body was, but he didnât make any move to act on it. The next words caught him off guard though. âWhat opinion of me? Cos I havenât heard much if anything âbout you.â
Of course she had a fair point. It came out of her mouth. Still she needed to stay in securityâs good graces so she didnât come right out and say it. âI work with the lost and found. Itâs amazing what falls out of peopleâs pockets when theyâre hurrying to get a pretty lady wet.â She laughed with him. âOh no no of course not in the oceans. We can partner up with some aquarium to get started and from there, the world.âÂ
âUh, wow, people really lose their stuff over that?â He liked pretty women as much as the next person, but he didnât see the sense in being careless over it. At least not theoretically. âGood, good, an aquarium is good. So how do we get the money to start this venture?â
âIâm only warming you up.âÂ
âWhen youâre done with the jacks, push ups. Twenty of âem.â She walked in a circle around him, checking his form. âLittle faster.âÂ
He laughed, letting his jumping jacks turn him in circles as he did. âRight right, warming me up.â
âFaster huh? Trying to get my heart rate up? Well, this isnât the way to do it.â He listened though, just being cheeky.
Gogo looked up when someone came in with flowers? That was curious, she should be use to odd things happening around the carnival by now. âI donât know, I mightâ Gogo shrugged. âThatâs what I usually do in my spare timeâ She continued, completely monotone. âGo and smash random pots of flowersâ Gogo looked back to her drawing. âIt gives me this rush of adrenaline, like smash a potted plant over your head and you can take over the worldâ She smirked a little to herself as she blew a bubble with her gum. Cabin fever was really getting to her head.Â
He bristled, and immediately picked up the pots again, protectively. âOi, you best be joking. Otherwise Iâm taking these right back to my room.â Not that it would make a difference to her, but he wasnât about to leave his precious plants in danger.
âWhat? Youâre tellinâ me you donâ like disco?â Reuben froze, completely still without wobbling at all, and looked him square in the face. âNo. No. Nuh huh.âÂ
Not liking disco was like not liking pizza. Everyone liked pizza. Everyone liked disco. Walking over to his phone, only wobbling twice, Reu flipped through his albums until he got to the Mama Mia soundtrack. âOkay look, listen,â He bopped his way back to the door. âSo what ur not young and sweet or only seventeen? you can still be tha dancinâ queen.âÂ
Awh hell, he was going to the musical based on ABBA songs. Whyâd he bring up disco when he shouldâve just left it? âHey, who says Iâm not young and sweet?â he protested, rubbing his forehead. âI mean-- I never said I didnât like disco.â The other was drunk, it wasnât like heâd remember this in the morning, so he gave in.
