I have been thinking who Centaurs reminds of. And I found it. As a former Haikyuu girlie, Centaurs remind me of MSBY Jackals from time skip. SakuAtsu is Hollanov but different front. I don’t know it made perfect sense when I saw old skit of MSBY. MSBY chaotic vibes translate perfectly into Centaurs.

Shane is not friend with Ilya’s friend. I think ilya was super excited for them to get along and they do. Shane likes to spend time with them while Ilya is there with him. But he doesn’t consider them friends a least not a close friend.

However, he has his own friend even his own rookies. He doesn’t know how that happened but now he has them and it’s fun. Nick and Boyle aren’t as loud as others. They are reserved like Shane but they like Shane bitchy side. Rookies worship him but out of the rink they call him gramps and make fun his knowledge of internet, mostly lack of. With them he is not the Shane Hollander. Just guy a is good at his job. They don’t care when wants to talk about hockey gor hours and they listen ask questions. When they can’t listen they schedule it. (Hey! We can meet next week you can tell me about the evolution of the pucks) so he doesn’t feel too much with them. Best part is they don’t hate his husband. They even like him, respect him. Are they close? No. Shane is pretty sure Nick finds Ilya little much but they never bring it in bad way. That’s Ilya. He is annoying little shit but he is ours. He loves that he doesn’t defend Ilya 24/7. He can complain about him without feeling like they would hate him. So he loves his friends

I don’t know where this “Shane can’t get the joke” idea comes from but it is wrong. He is funny. Sure he’s not cracking jokes left and right but when he feels comfortable he is sarcastic and funny. Most of time you need to know him to understand his jokes. It’s not even head canon. We saw this on the show with Rose, Hayden, and Ilya different versions so stop this nonsense.

because it turns out that rose got a LITTLE too enthusiastic in locking it after her plan worked PERFECTLY and now something in the mechanism is broken.

so in one sense, shane did come out of the closet, but in another sense that's going to be funny only probably a few months from now, he AND ilya are now stuck in the closet in a way that is both metaphorical and also. painfully literal.

One thing about Heated rivalry is that they make me believe they genuinely want each other. The way that they kiss and all the other scenes, it is so obvious they like each other. Sooo why are we writing Shane that he always annoyed at Ilya? Did we forget about bathroom scene? He was looking at Ilya with stars in his eyes, mind you, after got ghosted for 6 months. That man don’t get annoyed at his husband. On the contrary he is the enabler. Ilya wants to prank people. Shane makes the plans. Ilya wants to eat out. Shane finds the restaurant for them. Ilya wants kiss. Shane is running to give him. So no Shane doesn’t get annoyed when his husband acts himself. He loves it and makes sure Ilya feels good enough to be himself.

I love Time travel fix-it fic but what if instead of Hollanov, Yuna goes back in time to fix their relationship. Just think about it. Yuna finding Ilya on draft day and saying he is really good and his mom would be proud of him. Forcing Shane and Ilya to spend time together. Giving Ilya her number so he should contact her about the brand deal.

She would do a lot and make their image so different from the beginning so they wouldn’t suffer like the first time. No one can stop Mama Hollander if she needs to protect her sons.

I think Shane having “the support system” makes it harder for him in the long game. Bear with me. Boxing day fight, Ilya mad/sad he doesn’t get to have people knowing about them(I am oversimplifying) and Shane doesn’t understand him. Not at all. He doesn’t understand why would Ilya want to tell people because his experiences of telling people about either their relationship or him being gay is not helpful at all.

I don’t think his coming out was something glamorous like they supported him. It is just another thing to put up with him. And also I firmly believe that if Shane didn’t win the third cup, everyone would blame him. Only reason we don’t see his team having problems with him being gay is he is hockey god.

So coming back to my point, so he has a team that tolerates him at best. A best friend who knows about his relationship but keeps trying to convince him to find someone. So people knowing doesn’t help. It adds to the pressure it already crushing him.

So why would Ilya want that pressure? So yeah it doesn’t make sense to him at all.

Do we know what position Holmberg, Young, Lapointe plays? If there is no certain position I have my headcanon which I need for my Shame with rookies fic.

In my perfect world Holmberg is a center but not good enough. He has instincts but he is little cocky to take advice on other people. So Shane is perfect mentor to shape him. “ you think you good let see if you can score more me I’ll acknowledge you.(spoiler alert he didn’t score more) Shane think he is similar to Ilya in some sense. So can’t help himself to be closer to Holmberg.

Young is a defense man. He is the first rookie to ask for Shane’s help which is surprising because Shane isn’t a defense man. “If I can stop you I can stop anybody in the league. You are Shane Hollander” He doesn’t care other people’s teasing. He knows shane is the best player. (Did you hear that Rozanov) even though Shane helps him practice, He asks Chouinard’s help for Young. “I’ll help but Chouinard is a good defender he could help you more.

(Btw Chouinard Shane is bestie in the team. No one knows but they love to gossip in French)

Last but not least Lapointe. He is a left wringer. One thing everyone needs to know about Shane that He despises Tanner Dillon. You may ask why? That excuse of a hockey player should retire and never allowed on ice again. He hated him when he was on Ilya’s line. Now he despise him when he has to play in his line. So if you can’t choose your line mate you’ll grow one in lab. So that’s how he started to help Lapointe. Kid is promising, in practice he can keep up with shane no problem but in the match he looses his nerves so he messes up. His best idea was an exposure therapy so he convinces Wiebe to put Lapointe to his line. Kid thought he was gonna die but it work out when Shane helps (forces) him to score end goal of the match. So one stone two birds.

He doesn’t help Luca. That’s Ilya’s responsibility he has enough rookie to help. (He may see himself in Luca)

Luca Haas' 72 boyfriends (and counting)

This is the Luca Haas boyfriends masterpost which I will try my best to keep updated! Basically, this was born out of a desire to find out how many boyfriends we have invented for him. This is likely not complete, and always a work in progress, as I've mostly based it on the Luca Haas/Original Male Character tag on ao3 but I've noticed a few being tagged different, so if you find any boyfriends not included, slide into my dms or comment on the post with their name, link and description! Now, I have not read all of these fics, and this is not a fic rec post. The boyfriends are listed in alphabetical order. This is also not a post or space to critique people's OC's or fics, just to celebrate the hivemind creativity of what a fandom can do with a minor character with what, ten spoken lines? I hope this post inspires everyone to give all these fics and boyfriends some love <3

The criteria for the boyfriends (and non binary partners) of Luca Haas to be included are as follows:

Not a named character from the Game Changers universe (i.e. Young, LaPointe, Cliff, Hollanov, or even Theo the Mascot Guy);

They must interact in the fic at least once OR be a central point of discussion/plot and not be a one off mention;

They must be the main pairing involving Luca (for example, boyfriends he breaks up with to be with hollanov are not included)

Endgame relationships only (not because I don't like slut era Luca, but I am defining boyfriend as a loving, long-term relationship. This also means this list excludes any abusive fuckers who don't deserve the title of boyfriend)

Now I want to say things may trigger some people but I know we love the idea of codependency for Shane and Ilya. They deserve to spend time together as a couple. But they need their own time. It isn’t because they don’t love each other or they have marriage problems. Shane is autistic and Ilya has depression. Sometimes Ilya’s bad days require him to have alone time because seeing Shane trying to help makes him feel guilty. Sometimes Shane needs to have no one to around to decompress not because he doesn’t want Ilya. But his nervous system won’t stop working even his husband breathes so needs alone time.

And I am a firm believer that they need different friends and friend groups, especially after Shane moves to Ottawa but that’s a another post
