Warnings: can be read as either human or elven reader but it is implied that reader is an elf, reader is shorter than Curufin, a teeny bit of angst but it doesnโt directly relate to the scenario.
A/N. I love the evil wet pathetic man
Dragging your husband away from his workshop was usually an entire task.
It would take you from early morning to late afternoon to sweeten him up and convince him that no, his work will not sprout legs in the evening and flee.
Maybe it was the rain drizzling down with a soft pitter patter on the roof or the sweet scent of your baking flowing through the air, but it only took a couple bats of your lashes and tugging his arm to your chest before he yielded and allowed himself to be tugged along, though not without a grumble and a useless gesture to his work to convey some sort of urgency, but you knew how wrapped up your husband could get in his work. Besides the sun was shining through the trees as the rain provided cool relief from the heatwave that had blessed the usually colder lands of Himlad.
When you had dragged him out into the downpour he wasnโt impressed, arching his brow and crossing his arms, making the defined muscles bulge slightly as the wetness drizzling down caused them to shine.
โNow what on earth are you trying to do here, Melda?โ He had questioned, his cocked brow waylaid by the twitch of an amused smirk worming its way onto his face.
You gave him a completely innocent and unassuming grin as you pried his arms apart and laced your fingers through his, bringing his hands to rest upon your waist and he took the opportunity greedily, looking down at you as he pulled you close by your waist, nudging your nose with his as a droplet of rain ran down the bridge of his nose.
โShowing my husband affection on this perfectly unassuming rainy day?โ You offered with a tilt of your head.
Your words made him snort and he pressed his forehead to yours, โthere is nothing unassuming about youโ he ribbed.
โShushโ you pressed a finger to his lips, trying to fight the giggles materialising in your throat.
He tries to give you a smart retort back, but you cut him off by pressing your lips to his, curling your hand around the nose of his neck, threading your fingers in the short baby hairs that rested underneath his thick black curtain of hair.
You felt him still in surprise for a moment before he melted into you, his tongue prodding at your mouth asking for entrance which you granted almost immediately. He wrapped his arms around your waist as you wrapped yours around his shoulders. The feeling of the cool rain dampening your clothes and hair contrasted the warmth that always radiated off of your husband.
The same warmth that kept you cosy in the night when you snuggled in together under the thick furs of your bed, that you felt bloom under your skin when he makes love to you infront of the fire, the warmth that you find comfort in even on the most bitter of days.
A/N: I was not expecting to get all sentimental and long with this piece, even though itโs a favourite of mine because I get to write about knight Beleg. Yay!! Hope you all enjoy this piece as much as I did writing about it.
Warnings: female reader, royalty reader, knight Beleg, angst, mutual pinning, forbidden love, talks of marriage, mentions of elopement and children, talks of alternative futures and what ifs

Synopsis: When marriage loomed around the corner and everything became suffocating, the sudden possibilities of another life with someone else who stood in the shadows arose. What would then become the future of you two, and would it be a reality?

The sound of birds calling fluttered through the evening air. Their songs of love and yearning for a mate reached you from where you sat against the tree bark, still garbed in an attire too formal for a forest stroll. Yet, it matched the ambience of your emotion: sombre and hopelessness. The skies were painted vivid tints and tones of oranges, pinks and reds, small blotches of blue were still present amidst the colours of loveโlike a small beacon of light within the turmoil. It was hard not to given into the solemnity when most of the ambience mimicked your mood. There was barely any inspiration to lift you contemplative spell.
It further drove your thoughts into the one reason you escaped the palace wallsโmarriage.
Duty always came first in your line of responsibility, and that was the purpose behind the agreement to marry. He was good prince. Noble, fair, and respectful. Qualities impossible to come by when most princes were swallowed by vanity, egotism and pride. It was enough to move you towards accepting the requestโfor the sake of your people to sleep well at night and have their bellies filled with proper food.
Spiralling into another deep pit of thoughts, before you could plummet, the wind gently tugged at your gown. The embellishment shimmered under the rays of sunlight peaking behind the clouds, enough to attract a few magpies, and distract you. Reaching into your satchel for a few pumpkin seeds, you lightly scattered them to your left for the birds to eat. Soon enough, the melodic sounds had turned into shrieks, with the addition of a few snickers from you. However, it was enough to draw your attention back to the cliffside view of the settlement below, and at how calming it was to look at your people. Not an opportunity you often got the chance to experience, and when you did, it was never alone. You had the company of one who knew the people hearts and taught you how to read them.
You exhaled. This time, more wearisome than the last.
Tomorrow changes everything. But is it necessary? Must Iโ
โYour Highness.โ
Your heart lurched at the sound of his voice, prompting you to swivel around and come face to face with the owner.
Beleg. A knight of the Royal Guards. Your knight.
Your heart clenched at the acknowledgement and at the heartbreak.
Sitting upright and forcing your lips to stretch into a smile, he further stepped out from the shade of the forest and took three strides to stand beside youโstill at armโs length. The sounds of his armour clunking, filled the opening. Hand on the pummel, the other at his side, a loose braid fell against his temple while his hair remained neatly braided down his back, and his silver and green armour. Silvery robes bellowing behind him, adding a regal touch to a man who served the nobles. And lastly, his faceโstill pleasant to look at, even when a frown marred it.
โAlways one to disappear on the eve of ceremonies,โ he announced with a small tug of his lips to break the ice.
Exhaling with raspberry, you rolled your eyes and lightly shook your head, returning your eyes to the village below. The reminder was like stabbing you with a rusty knife. You said nothing, not trusting your voice now that he was here. His presence only brought tightness to your throat as the looming sense of betrayal threatened to fill your heart and mind.
Taking your silence and lack of motion to address his comment, remained standingโat easeโwhile taking in the pinching of your brows and upturn of your lips. It was out of his line of duty to question or pry, and as a man of honour of duty, he chose to follow his vows and remain silent at your side. For as long at it took, even when the sky grew darker and the star twinkled overhead, he said nothing. Even while he quietly shuffled around the opening, assembling a small fire.
It didnโt matter how many twigs crackled, the silence that filled the void was loud, blaring in your ears like an announcer at the stands during the tourneys. And with Beleg here, quiet like his oath demanded him to be, your nerves picked at you. You didnโt know how long you could maintain your composure, or was your expression not enough to warrant concern from the one person you had hope it would trouble?
Clearing your throat, you worked up the courage to speak up. โWere you not to return with me?โ you managed with a small, hoarse voice.
Lifting his head, his eyes peeling away from the swirls of red and orange, to face you, his expression wasโฆserene. As though it was a scenario he was trained to face within his line of duty. โI thought it best to grant you a moment of peace.โ
โAh,โ you breathed, not knowing whether to cry at the acknowledgement or laugh at the lack of concern.
Unsure of whether to genuinely cry, you bit your lower lip and looked at the fire. Inhaling, you opened your mouth to follow with another question but found yourself hesitating. The cliff winds tugged gently at your hair, carrying the smell of the fields belowโfresh dew and earth and faint smoke drifting from distance villages. For a long while you let it be. At last, the though that had been gnawing at your chest broke free yet refusing to stay unspoken.
โBeleg,โ you began softly, the sound of his name almost swept away by the breeze. He shifted slightly enough to show you he was listening. You toyed with the fabric of your gown in your lap, steadying your voice before you dared to continue. โWhatโฆwhat would your life be, if you were not a knight?โ
He stilled. A heavy pause followed, as though he had been turned to stone. For a heartbeat you assumed he might pretend not to have heard, that he would cloak himself in more silence the way he had done so many times when feelings pressed too near. His jaw tightened, his throat worked once, and still no words came.
โI mean it,โ you whispered confidently, turning your face towards him, though his eyes now avoided yours. โIf you had never been bound to oaths or duty, if the crown had no claim on youโฆwhat then? What would you have chosen for yourself?โ
You saw the hesitation in his bodyโthe stiffness of his posture and flaring of his nostrils. โIโฆhave never dreamed of such a dream,โ he answered. โTo do soโฆwould be to invite folly.โ
โBut for me,โ you urged softer. โJust once. For nowโฆ For me.โ
At that, his head turned, and for a fleeting moment his eyes met yours. The flakes of gold within his forest green orbs were undeniably tender, as though all the things he had never spoke balanced on the cusps of that look. Then, as softly as he met your eyes, he looked away, towards the town below.
โโฆI supposeโฆI would find some patch of land. A cottage by the trees. Nothing grand, nothing gilded. Enough space for quiet, enough roof to keep the rain off. That would be enough.โ
The vision was so simple that it made your chest ache with something bittersweet. It painted more warmth than all the splendour of the palace halls and awaited marriage. A smile ghosted your lips, though it trembled at the edges.
โAnd me?โ you continued in a hush-hush tone, almost afraid to hear his opinion. โIf we were not bound as knight and princessโif we were strangers who met by chanceโwould you still have sought me out?โ
Immediately, he closed his eyes to shut out the vision that was blossoming out of that question. It cut him too deeply to imagine an alternative life. But when he finally responded, each word was carved out of the silence with care.
โโฆFrom the first moment we met, I would have sought you out. Always.โ
You didnโt know whether to laugh or weep at the certainty in his voice. Instead, you turned you face back towards to the fire, trying to soften the tremor in your chest by spinning the threat further, drawing the dream out until it felt almost real.
โAnd in that cottage of yours,โ you whispered slowly, โwhat would our days look like?โ
He shifted as though the very thought unsettled his armour. โI would hunt and trade the furs. Perhaps mend bows and carve weapons from the bones or teach the village boys to string them true. That is work I know.โ
โAnd I?โ you pressed, half-teasing, half-yearning. โWhat task would I have, in your imagined life?โ
Slowly, he released a breath that might have been a laugh, though it carried more ache than mirth. โYou would tend your garden. Scatter flowers about the hearth. Keep bees, chickens and ducks, perhaps. And also scold me whenever I trampled mud through the door after a long day.โ
That earned a small bubble of laughter from your throat, undoing the chokehold. โScold you? Perhaps, but I would also spoil you insteadโstews and roasts rich enough to make you soft, and bread warm from the oven until you grew lazy with it.โ
For the first time that evening, his mouth curved into a true smile, and the shadows dancing on his face, vanished. โThen I would grow lazy, gladly.โ
His smile lingered momentarily before fading, but its memory warmed you. The fantasy felt alive now, almost tangible, and you carried it further before silence could settle again.
โAnd children?โ you ponder, much softer with inquisitive eyes and a pounding heart. โWould we have children, in this life of ours?โ
He froze as if a bolt of lightning ran through him. For a moment, he said nothing, and you feared you had pressed too far. But then his shoulders eased and his voice, though strained, found its way to you.
โโฆIf you wished it, yes. I would want to see you cradle them.โ
Slowly, you felt the tears return, prickling the corners of your eyes and gathering at the entrance of your nostrils. โHow many do you think?โ
He gave a quiet, strangled laugh, rubbing the back of his neck as though the very idea left his unmoored. โโฆOne would be enough.โ
โTwo,โ you insisted, eyes brightening with the spark of life. โA boy and a girl. The boy with your eyes, the girl with my temper.โ
โGod save us,โ he groaned softly, shaking his head as a reluctant smile touched him again.
Tranquillity had settled against between you both, broken only by the distant rustle of the forest and the wind that sighed through the grasses below the cliff. You wrapped your arms around your knees, leaning into the rough bark behind you, eye half-closed and ready to capture this moment of stillness forever. Seeing you shivering urged him to rise from his seat, unfastened his cloak and drape it over your figure, bundling you like a babe.
Offering a smile, you patted the ground next to you for him to sit instead of the valley between you two. And begrudgingly, he caved in with a defeated smile and sat himself beside you, shoulder bumping against yours, and fingers twitching to hold you.
Once he settled down, your thoughts slipped, unbidden, into daydreamsโyet not of a crown or palace. โWe could wander too, you know,โ you muttered softly, almost as if afraid the words might drift away with the wind. โGo where no one knows us. No guards, no courtiers, no rules. Justโฆus. Sleeping beneath the stars, waking with the sun. And eventually building your dream.โ
The faint clink of his armour accompanying the movement echoed with the turn of his head. There was an unreadable expression, somewhere between curiosity and absurdity. โYou would leave your silks for the road? To live a life not suited to a royal?โ
You laughed, turning your head in his direction, yet not meeting his eyes. โCorrection. I would leave to live a life with you, gladly. You think me too delicate to trade satin for rough blankets and dusty roads?โ
The sound of frogs croaking and crickets chirping filled the stillness created. A few twigs crackled and owls hooting joined the choir the longer you waited for a response, glancing at his twitching fingers and fidgeting boots. โThen Iโd take you north, where the pines sing louder than the birds. You would head the snow cracking beneath your boots, taste the cold on your lips. Or east, to the sea. Youโve never seen it, have you?โ
The admission slipped from you with a childlike tilt of your chin. โNo, not at all.โ
โThen you would.โ His voice grew confident as if imagining built courage in him. โI would take you to the cliffs where the waves strike so hard they turn the air to mist. Youโd stand on the rocks and stretch your hands wide, and gulls would wheel above your head like a crown.โ
You grinned at himโwistful, achingโand leaned into him, resting your head upon his shoulder, feeling him grow stiff. โAnd youโd keep me safe?โ
Easing the tension in his body at the recognition of duty, he tilted his head to rest upon yours. โAlways.โ
His words lingered in the air, more binding than an oath spoken before kings, more intimate than a caress. You swallowed hard, realising the ache in your chest was not just sorrowโit was longing, sharp and tender, for a life painted in dreams you could never live.
โWhat if we left right now?โ you spewed out, without a second thought.
Belegโs head sharply jerked away from yours, his brows knitting together as he attempted to fathom your suggestion.
โWhat if we simply went? Right now, tonight. No more vows, no more dutiesโjust you, me and the life you envisioned?โ
โDo not tempt me so,โ he choked out, voice so raspy, one would swear he was being tormented. His body felt stiff like a bowstring under your touch. The hard lines of disciple were still thereโthe knightโs restraint, the soldierโs controlโbut beneath them lay something rawer, his eyes darkening with unspoken ache.
โI am not tempting,โ you reassured. โI am asking.โ
Drawing in a deep breath, he shut his eyes for a moment as though the sight of you was too much to bear. His fingers flexed against his knees, curling into fists before he forced then still. โIf I were only a man,โ he whispered hoarsely, โI would. Without hesitation, without thought. I would carry you from these walls and never look back.โ His voice finally cracked, and when he opened his eyes again, they shone in the swirls of the flames with a torment you had never seen. โAlas, I am not a man. I am your knight. I am sworn.โ
The words sank heavy into you, yet you pushed anyway, your heart was desperate for the truth you already knew. โAnd you love me too much to let me throw away my crown.โ
โโฆTo not let you throw away comfort and a safe life, aye.โ
The urge to cry welled up, but you swallowed the lump building in your throat, clinging instead to the sight of himโhis broad shoulders stiff with tension, his jaw clenched against all he wanted to say and could not. For a fleeting moment you imagined yourself rising, taking his hand, and fleeing into the shadows of the forest. But you stayed rooted, because you knew he would never allow itโnot for his sake, but for yours.
And that perhaps, hurt most of all.
โBeleg,โ you murmured with what little confidence you gathered once more, still not enough to hide the tremble, โafter tomorrowโฆwhat becomes of us?โ
The question hung there, suspended between you like a blade poised above both your hearts. You heard the faint hitch in his breath, saw the way his jaw tightened before he closed his eyes for the briefest instant. โI remain,โ he uttered calmly, too calmly. โAt your side as I always have.โ
Words that meant to reassure, cut instead. A sad laugh slipped from you, sharp and broken, because you heard all the things he would not sayโI remain, though not as yours. I remain, though my heart will bleed for it. You turned your face away, unable to look at him as tears already burned at the corner of your eyes.
โEvenโฆโ you sighed, feeling the weight of your words cracking your voice, โeven if it tears you apart?โ
For a heartbeat, he did not answer, and you feared that your question might have crushed him into silence. Then, in the dark, his hand shifted ever so slightly that you could the feel the warmth radiating from it. โBetter me than you.โ
You let out another sound that was half a sob and half a laugh. โFool of a knight,โ you whispered, though the words lacked the bite. They trembled with affection, heavy with grief. โTell me truthfullyโฆdo you think we would have been happy in that life we spoke of?โ
For once he did not hesitate, nor did he allow the stillness to swallow his honesty. His answer was not drawn out or uncertain. He was positive.
โI do not think,โ he answered, โI know.โ
Something in you fractured at those words. You bit down hard against the rising tide in your chest, but tears slipped past regardless, catching the moonlight as they fell. Your let out a trembling breath, and when you blinked, one tear trickled down your cheek. Instinctively, his hand lifted slowly, uncertainly, as if he crossed a boundary he had sworn never to face with a tenderness so gentle, it undid you entirely.
Neither of you spoke after that. The silence that followed was loud enough with all the words you had never said, with all the possibilities that would never come to pass. Above you, the stars shone brightly with a mock to the eternal dream you had dared to weave. At last, he broke the tranquillity. โWhere our future lies,โ he murmured with a gaze that never left yours, โI cannot say. But wherever it is, I will be there.โ
And though tomorrow loomed with the vows that would sever you from this fragile dream, you held onto his words, clutching them like a promise, like a secret, like a lifeline.
We need a follow up, how are your injuries healing up?
They are HURTING. I had gotten a fever (it's gone now) and I managed to get a proper rest last night since my tailbone, pelvis and legs were aching over the last 4 days. Sleeping on my stomach or sides has never been so uncomfortable because any leg movements pull on my lower back muscles and stitches. So I feel as though I'm in a straitjacket
Hey guys! I know you all are wondering why havenโt I made a post in over a week. I had an injury over the weekend, fell in the bathroom, hit my back, suffered some gashes on my lower back, and pulled a leg muscle. Quite painful.
I know many of you were expecting me to finish up with the event these last two weeks, but not to worry. Iโm resting and not overworking myself, but also trying to see how best I can finish the event for you all.

โหโฟหยฐ Turgon
หโโง๊ฐแ Happiest soon-to-be father and elf in all of Gondolin. He might not show it the way most would with brilliantly, gleaming smiles, but his mood has boosted a thousands times over and every conversation heโs having, a small โWeโre expecting a babyโ would be dropped.
หโโง๊ฐแ Often, you would find him brushing up on his techniques of holding a babe or how he would interact with themโbelieves heโs a bit out of touch now the Itarille is all grownโin preparation for when theyโre here.
หโโง๊ฐแ Because Gondolin is such a safe place, there isnโt a need for paranoia or lurking danger, so youโre safe to walk around without guards. However, he requests that you have one or two handmaids around for assistance.
หโโง๊ฐแ Knows not to coddle or incapacitate you because he once had to sleep on the couch for that, even when you werenโt carrying, so he leaves you to your own devices and watches from afar as you busy yourself like a carpenter bee, rubbing your belly in the process.
หโโง๊ฐแ Closer to your due date, you once woke him up to get something for you to eat because cravings, and he jolted out of bed, ready to call for the healers and midwives for delivery, while youโre just lying there like, โIโm simply in need of food. No baby is coming.โ
หโโง๊ฐแ Spoiling you never stops, if anything, it increases. And he includes you in everything heโs making for the baby. โI was thinking a swan-shaped cradled...โ โDo you think the nursey should be...โ โI made a mini circlet, and some more jewellery for them. Do you think I should commission more?โ Heโs so excited to be a father all over again, and hopes that nothing would ruin or make the moment short-lived.
โหโฟหยฐ Angrod
หโโง๊ฐแ โAh.โ Is all that he can say the moment you break the news to him, because he needs to have a seat and process the groundbreaking news of him being a father. โLike yes, of course, I am aware of the things we did which can create a baby...just was not expecting one that quickly.โ
หโโง๊ฐแ Itโs mind-blowing for him to wrap his head around. But once he does wrap his head around the fact, his protective ways kicks up a notch. A hand on your belly at all times (even if there isnโt a bump yet) wherever you two go. Itโs also a silent statement, โWeโre having a mini us!โ
หโโง๊ฐแ The mood swings gets to him. He tries his best to put up with them, and poor Angrod finds himself more often than not, in the company of his brothers seeking help. โShe told me she wanted pickles with cranberry sauce, but we were all out, so she started crying. I offered to get, but she said no because itโs not to same! What does that mean?!โ
หโโง๊ฐแ Each time you should him a new onesie you got, he melts. And when youโre asleep, heโll hold the onesie against your belly and whisper how adorable theyโll look in it, and that he canโt wait for them to arrive, โTo really end the mood swings because I donโt know how to deal with it, but also to hold you. Most importantly.โ
หโโง๊ฐแ Gets angry that your have to experience all these bodily aches to bring life into this world. Rubs your feet, hips and back each night like itโs his sole duty while youโre carrying the world within you. It is his sworn duty to ensure that you are pain-free as much as possible.
หโโง๊ฐแ Brags to his siblings that he was about to be the most favourite of them all because heโs giving his parents their first grandchild. Typical sibling rivalry. Next thing you know, you're hearing that Aegnor is gonna have a baby, and that Finrod is still the most beloved, baby or not.
โหโฟหยฐ Rog
หโโง๊ฐแ Excitement. Fear. Neverousness. Enthusiasm. They all rush through him in a cluttering moment, trying to gain the centre of which will dominate his complete emotions. Unfortunately, all took the single chair which led to him on his knees, head on your belly, holding your waist and crying. It was perhaps the best day in his life. He was a part of creating a miracle.
หโโง๊ฐแ Heโs so cautious about everything when it comes to you. In his eyes, youโre more fragile and preciousโabsolute care is needed when handling you. This leads to him sleeping an armโs length away, out of fear of rolling on you now. Of course, youโre not having any of that, and find yourself curled up under him or on top. Heโs the perfect body pillow for you.
หโโง๊ฐแ Trinkets, jewellery, a cradle, toys, he probably designed the first stroller ever for his baby. Your baby is getting the best treatment before their birth, and Rog makes sure they know how loved and excited he is for their arrival.
หโโง๊ฐแ He loves with you ask him to rub oil on your belly. He takes the time to talk his heartโs delight about all the wonderful qualities about you and him, that your baby will experience once theyโre here. How loved and cherished they are. How safe they will be under your care. Tears up at the volume of emotions heโs portraying.
หโโง๊ฐแ Rog adores seeing you in your new maternity dresses. He considers you more beautiful than everโdidnโt believe it was possible for you to become more beautiful, but here you are. Glowing. And the spoiling doesnโt stop at all, it worsens. โRog, my love, please. Not another necklace. I already have enough extra weight to carry. I donโt think I can manage any more additional, otherwise you have to carry me around.โ He doesn't mind doing so the slightest.
หโโง๊ฐแ Speaking of him being the best body pillow, heโs also the perfect teddy bear for his child when they arrive. Something you constantly remind him off, which plays on his mind for him to become even softer and more muscular. Out of everyone, Rog is the most favourable to adopt the dad-body naturally, without being aware of the extra chub. You love it, and so will his little one.
โหโฟหยฐ Elrohir
หโโง๊ฐแ Calm. Level-headed. Polite response. The type to shake your hand as congratulations and not register that it was not the right response until hours later. Heโs just trying to process that โHey, Iโm going to be a father.โ Later, he does hug and kiss you with an apology in order, expressing his joy.
หโโง๊ฐแ You donโt have to worry about him being unaware of the trials of pregnancy, he KNOWS. And is fully prepared to handle your mood swings, the sudden outburst of tears because you canโt eat your favourite meal due to the baby not agreeing with it, or your strange food cravings. Okay, that one, he hasnโt fully digested. โWhy do you want to pair beans with figs? Thatโs not morally comprehensive.โ
หโโง๊ฐแ Adores displaying his strength in the most romantic ways. Would come home with a smile, babbling about how heโs ready to hold his entire world, and suddenly lifts you into his arms like youโre a pillow, and gives you a spin. It doesnโt stop there. Nope. Heโll walk around the house with you, grinning as the servants gossip and giggle at how sweet the gesture appears.
หโโง๊ฐแ Has to deal with his brother already trying to be a terrible influence, even when his child wasnโt here yet. โPlease, Elladan. Theyโre not here yet and youโre more eager to corrupt them, than we are to raise them. I wonโt stop my wife from launching the broom at you.โ
หโโง๊ฐแ Gets emotional when each delivery of baby clothes arrive. Would hold up each article of clothing and marvel at how tiny theyโre going to be when they get here. โOh, they can fit in my hands so easily. Theyโre like a little doll. So delicate.โ
หโโง๊ฐแ Heโs a pretty crafty person and probably know how to do woodcarving, so heโd be the type to want to build the cradle, and all his babyโs toys. Itโs not that he doesnโt trust the craftsmen, itโs the joy of knowing that as a first-time father, heโs able to find his place in assisting you with the preparation, and doing his job as a partner.
โหโฟหยฐ Elladan
หโโง๊ฐแ โMe? Iโm going to be a father! My swimmers are champs!โ He doesnโt say that last part, or maybe he does when heโs alone or while youโre sleeping. For him, making jokes and teasing you is his way of growing into the warmth of parenthood, and accepting his new role.
หโโง๊ฐแ Everyone he encounters will know, and soo you will be receiving gifts at your doorstep every day from strangers congratulating you two on your newest member of the family. You didnโt mind at all. You got a lot of free food (for you), clothes and toys for the baby. The issue was probably dealing with random people insisting on how to handle your pregnancy, and that their methods were the best.
หโโง๊ฐแ Frequent check-ups to Elrond, who is deeply touched about becoming a grandfather, because Elladan considers you stubbing your toe to be of grave ailment. He did turn into a mother-hen over time. One time you sneezed because of dust, he taught he had fallen ill and was ready to brew orange peel and clove tea.
หโโง๊ฐแ There are funny, unorthodox moments between you two that brings about extra merriment to the moment. Like one time he came back from a nightly skirmish near the border, and found you lying in the bathtub, unable to lift yourself out due to your belly being in the way. Ah. What laughter it brought to you two that night. He was more humoured that worried.
หโโง๊ฐแ Similar to his brother, he loves to carry you around Imladris. Showing off to others how well he cares for his beloved wife, acting smug with it and mentioning, loudly, that this is how all husbands must show love to their pregnant wives from now on. Which earns him annoyed glared from husbands who just wanted to enjoy their walk, and now sported their wives wanting the same.
หโโง๊ฐแ The quiet moment with him when the days unwinds are also the best. โThese little windows of peace are truly the best, meleth-nรฎn. I have come to adore you even more.โ Heโll spend those evenings rubbing your belly, back or feet. Sometimes reeling you in for a dance and laughing at how your belly gets in the way, and soon it wouldnโt be there, instead, a mini version of the love you two have.

Summary: Underrated character as a sworn shield
He is conscientious about his duties and refuses to ever step beyond the bounds of a sworn knight and protector. If he feels an attachment stronger than one of leal service, he will take care to keep it well hidden.
He will follow you wherever he is permitted to follow, his sword hand ever ready to reach for his sword. He will arrange the household guard around your doors, but he will walk by from
time to time, to ensure that they are carrying out their duties. Sometimes, he will take over the watch around dawn, just so that he can greet you in the morning.
โThere is temper in the air, my lady,โ he begins, โand the clouds are dark and grey. Would you consider an hour or two in the library after you have broken your fast?โ
โCan we go to the conservatory afterward?โ You say, eager to begin the day. โI hear a flower not seen by anyone else in this kingdom has already begun to bloom.โ
โI will gladly take you there, my lady.โ
- Erestor, Turgon, Gwindor, Galdor, Beleg
Bold, gallant, and ever ready for a fight, he will gladly face any danger heading your way with a smile on his face. But only after securing your safety first.
โStay over there, my lady,โ he will cry, โand do not leave until I say it is safe.โ
He will fight off the danger, then come fetch you when you are safe. When you declare he is hurt, he brushes away your concerns with a wave of the hand.
โTis but a scratch,โ he will tell you. โAll will be well, princess; just you wait and see.โ
Once he is rested and healed from any injury he received, he will resume his usual duties.
Sometimes, he will teach you how to better ride a horse. Other times, he will indulge in your entreaties and give you rudimentary lessons in swordplay, laughing quietly to himself while you slash about like a lord deep in his cups. And then there will be the times when he will just sit or stand by your side, his gaze drifting toward you when your attention is elsewhere. There is more than duty in his eyes, but he tries his best to restrain it. Sometimes, he cannot, and he will resort to carefully couched teasing and flirting, wondering if you will ever notice.
- Amras, Elladan, Aegnor, Egalmoth, Argon
He is the sworn shield with an arrogant nature and a quick tongue. Nevertheless, he fulfils his duties with great meticulousness and care, and not a single aspect of your safety is left to chance. He will watch the others and immediately step in when they try to get too close or become too familiar with you.
โLady Y/n must make her leave of you for the present,โ he will say in a manner that is considered out of turn before you could even get a word in, โbut she will return once she is finished with performing her courtesies to the others. Pray excuse us.โ
No one would dare go against him, though, given his willingness to draw his sword for your sake. So they will bow and walk away, and he will walk you toward a quiet corner, far away from the prying eyes of others, so that you can compose yourself.
โThat was unnecessary, sir,โ you tell him. โWhat if they objected?โ
โOnly a fool would dare object to me. Are you well?โ
โI am. Thank you for getting me away from them.โ
It is the only way he can show his affection, for a union with you is forbidden to one such as him. Still, he does not give up, seeking a way that would bring you into his world as more than just the lady he had been charged to protect.
- Curufin, Amrod, Elrohir, Angrod
He will serve you as the grave, dutiful knight whose eyes discreetly follow your every move. He is forever courteous and never oversteps his remit as a protector. He shows due respect for the position you occupy, but sometimesโnot alwaysโbut sometimes, it is hard for him to do so.
Nevertheless, he will bite his tongue and perform his duties without betraying a word of his true feelings.
โIt is time for your audience with the ambassador, my lady,โ he says. โI was told he would be waiting for you in the solar.โ
โAh, yes,โ you reply stiffly. โMy fatherโs efforts to see me wed to this Crown Prince minstrels wax poetic about.โ
โIt will be a most joyous occasion, my lady,โ he says, his voice betraying none of his sadness. โAnd one that would be spoken about for years. Shall we go in?โ
I do enjoy my โBold, gallant, and ever ready for a fight, he will gladly face any danger heading your way with a smile on his face. But only after securing your safety first.โ men ๐ฅฐ๐ฅฐ๐ฅฐ
I might be losing some friends, lol. But your content has always cheered me up, so thanks for unknowingly being there โค๏ธ
-Bard.
It's one of those moments in life that many of us have to unfortunately experience, isn't it ๐? Yeah, for some it sucks, for others it's a plus. But I hope it doesnโt break you, and you're still able to find great joy in the company of oneself (and self-indulgences) ๐ซ
Oh sorry, I meant like, is Elrond in any future cooking plans? I've been following the underrated character event, it's great!
โ๏ธ
~~PLEASE ignore the fact that I accidently asked via main last time, I am not Percieved~~
I donโt have any solo content for Elrond in the future. If he does make an appearance, it's most likely in a multi-headcanon. Otherwise, nothing has tickled my fancy for content surrounding him โน๏ธ๐ซฃ
Nothing makes my day brighter than seeing you update the underrated character event list. Your writing is so incredible and soothing, the scenarios and reactions of the elves you write about are so creative and fun!! Thank you so much for blessing us with your work
I appreciate you and your words โค๏ธ!! It warms me to know that you feel that much excitement from my little hobby โบ๏ธ
On a side note. The first word of the ask was 'Nothing' and my chronic brain went "beats a jet2 holiday..." ๐ฅฒ HALP
You know what might be fun in future? Elves with a pirate y/n. The shenanigans that will arise from a sea ridden, rabid racoon will surely be delightful, if not make you question what in morgoth's balls just happened.
Yours sincerely, Bard. โค๏ธ๐
It does sound like a fun concept to explore. The whole chaotic "Pirates of the Caribbean" adventure lol. Sadly, it's not a concept I see myself writing ๐
This screams a concept @animatorweirdo would take and turn into an epic adventure with the perfect amount of crack and awesomeness ๐

I'm really happy to hear that you enjoyed it a lot. Not much Amrod content out there, so this one was an exciting piece to push on. Really glad you enjoyed it. Thank you very much โฃ๏ธโฃ๏ธ
Also, a happy belated birthday to you, luv. I hope your day was most enjoyable and relaxing. Wishing you all the best โจ๏ธ๐ฉท

Summary: Underrated character approaches you for a favour to wear during the tourney/jousts/mรชlรฉe
He would seek you out in the tourney grounds and ask for a quiet moment away from the others. When he finally has you to himself, he takes your hand into his and bashfully says, โSweet lady, victory would be all but assured if you would kindly grant me a favour to wear upon my person.โ
When you grant him this boon in the form of a strip of satin ribbon edged with lace, you tell him, โThis was a gift from my lady mother. Take care with it, sir, for it is more precious to me than gold.โ
He accepts it, tucks it safely inside his gauntlet, then takes your hand into his and raises it to his lips. โI will guard this with my life,โ he promises, โand I will return it to you upon distinguishing myself in the lists.โ
- Erestor, Turgon, Gwindor, Galdor, Beleg
He will urge his horse toward the box before his jousts begin, a wide grin playing on his lips. โLady Y/n,โ he cries, bold as brass, โI would humbly beg the favour of the most beautiful woman here. Will you grant me this boon?โ
You rise and climb down the steps to the railing, your cheeks aflame by the compliment. โKeep this safe and return it to me,โ you say, loosening the strip of thin ribbon around your wrist, โfor it is not a gift I bestow lightly.โ ย
He grabs onto the silk that was thrown down to him and bows. โYou honour me, my lady, with this token of your esteem,โ he says, carefully folding and tucking the token he received inside his gauntlet. โI shall see that this is returned to you unharmed.โ
You smile and bow your head to him. โThen good fortune to you, sir.โ
- Amras, Elladan, Aegnor, Angrod, Argon
The first round of jousts ended, leaving him time to approach you while you sat right next to the railing of the royal balcony, speaking with your ladies.
โFair lady Y/n!โ he cries, reining his horse to a stop just beneath where you sat. โI beg the honour of your favour. Victory for me will not be guaranteed otherwise.โ
You reach for the token you had laboured on for many daysโa laurel of evergreen sprigs adorned with tiny golden feathers made of silkโand rise. โYou rode well already, sir,โ you say, dropping it down his tilted lance. โAnd I wish you good fortune in the matches to come.โ
โI would gladly accept any luck that came my way if I believed I needed it. And I am certain that I do not.โ
โYou are an arrogant one, sir. But I suppose some arrogance must be expected of a knight. Will you still accept my wish of good fortune regardless of your own notions on the matter?โ
He smiles and drops his visor with a loud clang. โI will gladly do so,โ he says, his voice muffled. โAnd I shall see to it that this token is returned to you when the day is done.โ
- Curufin, Amrod, Egalmoth, Elrohir
He would seek you out in the gallery after preparing himself for the mรชlรฉe. โMy lady,โ he begins gravely, โI am about to ride out for the mรชlรฉe. I would be honoured if you would consider bestowing upon me a token of your esteem.โ
You consider his request, loosen the strip of lace ribbon around your wrist, and say, โThe honour is all mine, my lord. And this,โ you continue, tying the token of your favour around his left rerebrace, โis the gift of my regard for you. Guard it well, as a testament of your skill.โ
โIt shall be returned to you unharmed.โ He took your hand into his and raised it to his lips. It was a lordly courtesy, nothing more, but the way it lingered hinted at something far more than just mere courtesy. โNow, pray excuse me, my lady. I must present myself to the Master of Revels.โ
