Rembrandt van Rijn - Pallas Athena (circa 1657)
The Birth of Aphrodite (1904) by Norman Prescott-Davies (British, 1862 – 1915), signed and dated ‘1904’ (lower left), oil on canvas, 105.5 x 60cm (41½ x 23½ in.), Private Collection
"Les Jardins de Nuit" (censored version) - Mixed media: colored pencils, pastels, ink, and gold leaf on paper. I created this artwork in 2020 for my book Forgotten Gods.
The clearest image of Venus ever taken !
by Japan's Akatsuki spacecraft
Aphrodite is a very cheerful goddess, idk what is the appeal of taking that away from her. Let her be happy, silly even. She have friends, many beloved kids, lovers... She got a wonderful life, quit trying to make her miserable. Why are so many modern adaptations such fun haters.
The two mortals Aphrodite marries in some versions. These are my old designs but I am pretty sure I never posted them here
Little hightlight on the doodles of them with Aphrodite. Me when I care too much vs when I care too little both toxic in their own right.
I drew him! 🥹
The Prince of the Lilies 🌸

'He will wander, as with flowery feet over Deucalion's muddy flood, slaying Python, light, splendid Pythius Apollo' - Goethe
'That bit o' frozen music' - Robert Service
they should create a new thing called LOMO <3 love of missing out <3 please don't invite me to anything <3
there is a huge tree in the forest & it is completely hollow on the inside its almost like a shell but there are rocks inside it up to waist level & on top of them there are always coins & pieces of food like offerings.. what are we worshipping
the tunnels area became extremely dense now!!!! there are insects everywhere & very big plants & some flowers & i love it but its also a little unnerving because theres always a sound of buzzing & rustling & i constantly feel like theres something pulling on me😭 also found a nest ^_^
went back home walking through the forest path today & in some places theres an extremely sweet scent even though there are no flowers or anything at all except for trees and grass. & those have no business smelling like a perfumed bakery so i was very confused
Details of “Apollo & Dionysus” by Leonid Ilyukhin
In some psychological & artistic disciplines, Apollonian & Dionysian are words used to describe opposite impulses- artistic, controlled, skillful, vs hedonistic, emotional & wild.
However, anyone who knows the details of Apollo & Dionysus’ history knows they are very intertwined. They share a reputation of youth & beauty, & Dionysus was said to take domain over Delphi, Apollo’s most holy site, during the winter months. Art & music are key elements of Dionysus’ worship, representing pleasure & luxury. They’re not even two sides of the same coin, they’re puzzle pieces fitting together side by side.
sky is so pretty ^^
every night i say "this night im sleeping early for sure" & i end up going to bed at an even later time than before this shit is a curse
imagine a self fulfilling prophecy type sacrifice ritual. like people who wholeheartedly fear a curse from a made up god or entity that they sacrifice humans for it but the sacrifice victim comes back from the dead as a personification of whatever was worshipped & with a real curse onto the people
FINALLY I finished this series of hero portraits
it took me a long time but here we are, hope you'll like it!!
