Hello, welcome to my blog! This is the ffxiv/warframe sideblog of @darkabsolwriter. You can call me dark or just use my URL.

I'm not an RP blog, but I'm more than happy to answer questions and have excuses to talk about my WoLs and other OCs if you're curious. I'll post links to my fanfics whenever I get 'round to finishing them.

The funniest thing about Alisaie's "he gets his innocent streak from our mother" line is that shes wrong. Just a completely incorrect read on her own mom. If Ameliance revealed that kinda info to someone it is 100% on purpose.

Alisaie's mistake here is foreshadowing. She's assumed like everyone else in Sharlayan that her father is "the clever one." Son of a famed Archon, leading member of the Forum for her entire lifetime, important political figure and all that. While Ameliance is--at least apparently--just running the Leveilleur household.

Except Forchenault is decidedly not the brains of the family. He's wrong about every single thing in the entire plot, and his life's work of building the Ragnarok would have utterly failed if his wife hadn't schemed behind his back to bail him out.

Ameliance is, without question, the clever one, and the most devious and adept at persuasion and manipulation in a family that is supposed to be politicians.

And we kind of get this sense of her as soon as she appears in Endwalker specifically because Alisaie misread her so badly. "He gets his innocent streak from our mother," and then she outmaneuvers the two of them and her husband and gets the entire household to keep secrets from the lord of the house in like two minutes of introduction.

This is the most dangerous person in Sharlayan. And nobody knows it. Which is exactly what she wanted.

hot take: aether currents in ffxiv aren't that bad at all. in fact it's kind of nice to take a little walk around and have an incentive to navigate an environment. like outside of field operation content there isn't a lot of "explore this area" type stuff to do in the game. dungeons are linear corridors, raids are single room arenas. the game making you occasionally figure out how to climb a mountain is good for your health

man. from elidibus's perspective-

lahabrea's son, who he only knew as such courtesy of a homoerotic homicidal vampire, got kidnapped by lahabrea's clone, by means of activating an emotional distress-based mindcontrol so erichthonios just warped to him.

the ghost of another of lahabrea's underlings blasted him postmortem. with a tape of him basically abandoning said son after a concealed murder of his wife. the ghost says she trusts and respects lahabrea.

and then after the final showdown, lahabrea runs a sex tape. his son was crucified in the background. his wife goads him into soul-fucking her. which he does. afterwards he splits his soul. end the video.

he is not being paid anywhere near enough for this. he does not have the concept of what could be enough pay for this.

I love how pissed off he is the whole time you're finding the golden city. I think this utterly inane response when you get home really puts it in the most perspective. "Since when" is a completely meaningless way to address it intelligently (we've literally learned as much history as is possible to know about it re: timelines and Yok Huy history, so you could get the guess down to a range of thousand years, or less if you know more about Turali history like Erenville probably does, which is pretty good on Ethierys when calamities make history so choppy).

What he actually means is "how could something so concretely existent exist in a real existingly way and no one told me about it" where "no one" is his mum and "since when" is "why did you lie to me my entire childhood and then send me on a quest where you knew it was real and reverse gaslit me by telling me to find it so I thought you'd made the whole thing up in an attempt to make me make friends after I gave the mission what turned out in hindsight to be a cursory glance and decided it was fake and you were lying, and actually I'm almost more angry that now I found it but that was only because of the friends I made along the way, exactly like you probably wanted me to, MOM."

I mean, probably. I don't know what he's thinking. Just a great set of angry glares up at the sky on him as all this sinks in before we leave the skydeep cenote :P

Actually it's even funnier in the context that he just watched Gulool Ja Ja engineer an even more complex quest for his favourite child to win and she aced it first try without even rage quitting and trying a new job under an assumed name and accent for 5 years (and you know Cahcuia and head of reason played puzzle games and chess together like fiends and loved this sort of nonsense).

Lamaty'i just smashed it first go with the power of love and he's still not letting the WoL, who he actually secretly rather likes at this point, know that he even HAS a mysterious backstory, let alone a different name, or a mum who knows everything and he's been dreading will pop up as an elector and set him even more annoying puzzles and quests since the Rite started (also is hurt she hasn't popped up already to set him puzzles and quests). ALSO SHE'S NOT HERE TO SEE HIM FIND THE CITY AND GULOOL JA JA WAS HIDING UNDER A ROCK JUST WAITING TO STEP IN AND ANNOUNCE WUK LAMAT THE WINNER? WHERE IS CAHCUIA'S ROCK?
