Scrimpering Whimperlet moving around the hallways of a nondescript space station, looking at plushies.

Panicked scrimpering motion (as opposed to merely nervous whimpering) planned for the future.

When you say 'free to use forever', is that in the sense of "CC-0" (Public Domain) or more like "CC-BY" (Credit your sources) ?

For putting him in the game it helps to have an official thing to point to.

I know this is an old post, but I was reminded and just thought I'd offer a story.

After the whimperlets were added to Delta-V, we pulled them in on Lagrange, a different fork with rounds that last 30-40 days wherein we build a station from scratch. As such, we wind up with a lot of long and winding plot-lines between characters as friendships, romances, and enmities form.

As part of this, two of the characters, Slow Hours and her partner, Josie, adopted a whimperlet and named it Skoozle. With a bit of help from some toolshed and scsi trickery, it would even follow them around wherever they went. Since it used the standard pathing for NPCs to do so, it had a sort of skittish look about it, hesitating and darting after the two nervously as they went about their day on the station. Since we removed the faction from it, the other animals left it alone, too, it became a part of the crew.

Here's the crew portrait from the end of the shift right before we handed the fully constructed station off to SysCon, Skoozle front and center in front of its beloved caregivers, Josie (tall dog with pink hair) and Slow Hours (short skunk in a purple scarf).

Another player adopted a 'baby' (shrunken) goliath (just to the right of Slow Hours), and if you pet it, it would either make a cute noise or trip you up with tentacles, so...we all felt Skoozle was much nicer.
