okay update on my mild distain for Libby. I would die for her. I realized in a startling moment that the pull to her character is the fact that she is, undoubtedly, the most normal person here. and yet she has so many quirks to her and her anxiety is palpable. I can see why booktok would cling to her and nico so much, because that's the fantasy of this normal girl who's easy to project onto and nico who's a very fun character all things considered.

even when I didn't like her very much every time another character called her annoying I was like I will throttle you please be nice to that poor girl it is her first day on earth

libby get behind me she's shivering like a wet dog in the rain she's like an animal you gotta coax out of the corner and it's SO FUNNY because objectively she is probably the most normal person here. libby rhodes I'm going to tuck you in my pocket

I can see why booktok attached itself heavily to nico and libby as a couple and while so far I can see the rivals to lovers scenario happening, I think gideon and nico have such an interesting dynamic. the thing is I have this pathological need to support any woman who "gets in the way of a gay ship" (because we all know how fandoms get about those so called pesky women) but libby just. idk I've only had one chapter from her perspective but she's so nothing burger so far and lord I want to like her so bad. libby please be likeable I am prepared to go to the ends of the earth for you if you are likeable

started the atlas six, I'm on the first page of the first Tristan chapter, here are my initial thoughts

- Nico I don't know how to feel about you

- I want to like Libby so bad but her being like "I'm not like Nico who was rich I'm from the suburbs" made me heavy sigh

- Reina my beloved. I love her. immediately. I love her so bad. immediate attachment. her dynamic with the plants is genuinely so funny I had such a good time with her first chapter

- I know immediately that Nico and Libby are gonna be a rivals to lovers type situation and I'm conflicted on how involved in that I'm gonna be. I think nico is very clearly going to be like "rich boy with something going on underneath" and honestly, I think I would find the character more interesting if he was just a twat lol, it would be a nice change to what might be more expected there. I think that would be actually really cool to see genuine reflection and character growth from that.
