He held onto his hand tightly. Excited but nervous. Arthur didn't know what a Druid ceremony entailed. Walking in silence, he took in the sounds. He could hear the people whoops and howls as the ceremony was beginning. The druids were awaiting for their arrival. Their surroundings seemed lively. Fireflies flew around them and stirred as they walked through the forest to the clearing.

It was a wondrous sight really. The darkness and the blinking fireflies seemed to guide them there. There were torches in the distance and a large fire pit he could see blazing. Just like his future. Bright.

A few steps and they were in a line of people who greeted them. A few called out Emrys and others said his name. A few bowed their heads as he glanced over at Merlin eagerly to see him nod. He let go of his hand and started to step forward towards Ziraz. The leader was wearing a grand headdress and the fur of a wolf. Paint on his bear chest were marking in the old religion to bless him so he could bestow it to Arthur.

The Druid leader held a bowel of red wine and dipped his hand in it to mark his forehead with. Marking him with the sign of the Goddess, he people surrounding him started to chant and sway. "We bestow upon the Goddess, our people, our forest, the Rightful King of Albion. May he be tied to our fates. Bring us up to a golden age. Our Once and Future King will rise from the depths and give justice to the one who steals! May fire protect our Pendragon! May the dragons rise up!" Ziraz put the bowl down to take in his hands a crown. The crown was made of gold in the form of branches that were cast just for him. "With my mighty authority by the Goddess herself. I crown thee. Arthur Pendragon, King of the Druids!"

Merlin stayed shoulder to shoulder with his lover until it was time to let him go take his stand amongst the elders. Merlin watched the ceremony before him, his heart swelled with pride as he watched his lover intensely as he was smeared. The crowds around the warlock cheered their delight chanting back 'long live our king' and 'our Protector'.

It was only when the crown was placed upon the golden locks that the warlocks knee buckled to the floor with his head lowered as thick heavy breathing parted his lips as hentried to keep the tears that drowned his sights threatened to fall but it was no use. The heaviness of his head made it difficult to keep them in, the intensity of the magic around him made his limbs heavy as his own magic fought to join in the song, in the chanting but with how powerful it felt he was worried what the repercussions would be.
