Kermit the Frog looks about as tired as I feel at the start of day 4 of BayCon at the Santa Clara Marriott. Soon both of us will be ready to face the final day of this lovely sci-fi/fantasy book event to share my fantasy comic and handmade dragons with everyone. Stop by before 3pm to join in on the fun.
Sunday is here at BayCon, in the Santa Clara Marriott. I hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July. If you’re in the San Jose, CA area, stop on by BayCon’s Marketplace. Look for the purple tablecloth and the dragon tree for Dragon Child comics and my handmade dragons. If you’re a fan of urban fantasy or an excuse to befriend a dragon, you’re in the right place.

BayCon is here again, and we’re back in the vender hall at the Santa Clara Marriott! It’s the 42nd year, and the event is all in on the Hitchhiker’s Guide puns. This show goes all the way through Monday, and our hall is open to the public without a badge, so stop on by and get something new to read. If you like modern fantasy comics and dragons, I’d love to share my art with you.

Ever wonder what the layout stage of comic making looks like? Now you know. Here’s my paneling for the first 15 pages of Dragon Child Issue 10. It’s a lot of stick figures and working out the basic backgrounds. The idea is adding just enough to have a plan, but not enough detail to get bogged down in the weeds.
Happy Father’s Day, to all the amazing fathers out there! If you are looking for some spooky fun, join me at the Sacramento Scottish Rite Center for Sinister Creature Con. If you wish dragons and other creatures of myth were real, you’ll love my comic, Dragon Child. I have a brand new set of coloring pages, so stop by my booth to take a look!

If you know me, you know why these two coloring pages are so special. The dragons playing cards, specifically whist, is in honor of my paternal grandfather, who loved playing whist and hearts with his family. The games commonly got heated, and were a staple of summer vacation with the Shaws. My maternal grandfather, Poppa, was the head of a CA apple juice company you may be familiar with. He dabbled in comics when he was young, and always was a great supporter of my comics. Thank you both for all the memories, and I hope these pages would make you smile.
Happy Mother’s Day! Enjoy my festive coloring page for all the mothers out there. We’re back for day two of Lodi Comic Con at the Grape Festival Grounds in Lodi, CA, where you can see all of our amazing art. I would love to introduce my fantasy comic book series, Dragon Child, and handmade dragons to you.

I drew a fun commissioned sketch today of Elvis from his movie, Change of Habit. The twist was he had to be drawn as an anime character, and she loved it!
