Character Mods

These are some mods (some just for character creation, some that apply to all characters) I use regularly. This does include some mods I've made, obviously.

Bodies

I use CBBE and HIMBO (nevernude) to customize bodies a bit, though I definitely stay fairly Vanilla. NSFW pics in below links.

For men, I like The Common Guy.

For women, I use my own Vanillaesque preset which I like to pair with this mod Female Hands Redone

Retextures

Skin

I pick Tempered Skins for the fellas mostly because it has an option for a 'Sleek' body diffuse: meaning, you can actually have a texture that doesn't have an 8-pack. My main complaints are that it can wash out some skin colors and the ears look pretty bad (then again, I haven't seen any skin mod that fixes this.)

For the ladies, Reverie is genuinely my favorite texture out there. I like the option for adding body hair (including arms, armpits and legs!) because most ladies in Skyrim aren't gonna bother with shaving every day. Works great with all skin tones.

Mild Complexions

What it says on the tin, makes complexions slightly less extreme.

Hair

Sassy Salt and Wind Hair Retexture

Self-plug here, my attempt at making Salt and Wind a little more gritty. Covers both Vanilla and KS Hairdos. I also use my hair recolor addon, and my Beards recolor, otherwise colors look a little off IMO.

SC - Vanilla Hair Retex (Tiled Textures only)

I just use the tiled textures from SC's, which are mostly used for Redguard and some Orc hairs. My normal edits make them a lot less shiny than the original.

Eyes

Fia's Eyes

I really like the style of these eyes, though I did replace the eyelashes in my own game. Really offers nice variety while keeping the racial variations in scalera and pupils.

ESO-Style Bosmer Eyes

My own addon, gives Bosmer eyes the star-shaped pupils they have in ESO.

Teeth

Setup for simple, natural, 2D teeth (I think 3D is way overkill.)

Meshes

High Poly Heads (EFM version)

I highly recommend installing the original Expressive Facegen Morphs and both Expressive Facial Animation (Male and Female) mods and letting HPH overwrite them. Also, this fix for male eyebrows.

Closed Mouths for Orcs

Covers orcs' bottom teeth (minus the tusks of course), a must-have. Gonna try it out with Alternate High Poly Head eventually.

Vanilla Hair Remake (non-SMP)

Admittedly, I use a highly edited version of this mod, one that I've taken the braids from High Poly Vanilla Hair and replace VHR's braids with.

Your brain is an incredibly energy-intensive organ. It makes up approximately 2% of your total body mass, but at rest it's using 22% of your total energy intake. The only thing that uses the same percentage of energy is all of your skeletal muscle (which is about 40% of your total body mass), with the liver (about 2.6% of your total mass) close behind at 21% (Aragon et al, 2017).

And that's how much energy it's using at rest.

That's the baseline.

So if you're doing lots of intellectual labour, your brain - which already has disproportionately huge energy demand - is going to use even more energy to keep up with the work. That's why you feel so wiped/drained/like you're out of spell slots after high intellectual demand - because your brain is an organ, and you've just done a lot of high-energy work with a high-energy organ.

The amount of transphobes that just don't know anything about swords or fencing is fucking killing me. Firstly, alot of fencing competitions are gender neutral. Secondly even if someone who did have a massive strength advantage entered a fencing competition that still wouldn't help them too much because a duel with swords is very rarely decided on strength. It doesn't matter how strong you are, if your opponent hits you that's a point for them. Fencing is won entirely by fucking knowing how to fence, shockingly.

Also, anybody commenting "Why is her hair greasy. She needs to wash her hair" needs to step outside the house like atleast once in their life. Girl just won a fencing competition and she was wearing one of these 👇 the whole time
