going deeper into this, I want this art to be seen and heard from all perspectives of people to understand how dangerous it is when people are performative and fence sit the struggles of minorities especially when they leave them in the dust. there has been many times I have been treated like garbage from these people but to be a good ally, listen, hear the experiences of black people, and learn from those experiences and do better.

My dad told me he fantasized about me being sexually assaulted as a teen so he could deliver a badass one-liner and save me. He never mentioned that it would actually be sexual assault of course, just that he dreamed of saying something like "you can take your hands off my daughter's body, or I can take them off of yours".

This is one of the many reasons I'm never going to tell him I'm not his daughter, but also I feel like it fits this archetype of white father who has to invent a way that he can be so so very heroic by violence and the well-being of those he's "protecting" is not actually necessary to the story? If I'm making sense?
