So that went well. After putting Forgot up online last week, it got a Staff Pick on Vimeo, as well as a lovely feature in Short of the Week, a mention on a load of blogs, and oodles of lovely messages from people.

I was also asked about the technique involved, so I rooted around in my old files, and lashed this video together, taking a shot from initial sketch to final comp.

After a great festival run I decided now's the time to set free my Royal College of Art first year film 'Forgot', casting off its shackles to soar majestically through Vimeo.

Forgot is a short film about memory, emigration, longing, Jesus kitsch, cocktail sausages and children’s television. Forgot explores the shape of memory, telling the story of a life through its effacing; a non-linear narrative that flashes between childhood and maturity, as it all slips away, from what we long to remember, to what we'd sooner forget.

Awards Business!

Meanwhile recently had its festival debut in London at The Smalls Film Festival where, I'm delighted to say, it won!

In other news, Forgot is through to the finals of The Adobe Design Achievement Awards! Just me, a lad from the SVA and that Nicolas Ménard.

Festivals Roundup

It's all go with festivals!

Raspberry Cane will be screening at In the Woods next weekend.

Raspberry Cane will also be at the Silhouette festival in Paris on September 2nd.

Meanwhile, Forgot and Raspberry Cane will also be playing at The Smalls festival in London on the 2nd of September too

Forgot will be screened at Encounters in Bristol on the 17th of September in Bristol.

Later in September Forgot will appear at the OLHO Animation Festival in Porto in Portugal.

Forgot was in competition for the McLaren award at Edinburgh Film Festival in June, and received a Special Mention at the Galway Film Fleadh in July.

The Double Made this ages ago for an exhibition during the Jameson Dublin International Film Festival with Brainbelt, then promptly forgot about it.
