Okay guys come on, Coltland twins (and the entire Extended Gosling Cinematic Universe as a whole) and Bloodymary are really cool AUs, and people have been really creative with them. I really do like Coltland especially I think its add such a tastey flavor of angst to the already angsty situations Grace finds himself in, but Colt and Simon are NOT cannon to Project Hail Mary, no matter how big those two crossover are in popularity.
I have had to mute literally SIX (6) people today alone on Ao3, who made crossovers with Iron Lung or the Fall Guy, and didn't tag those actual fandoms, and I hate that, cause I might miss out on something they come up with later, but its basic fandom etiquette to tag accurately, for BOTH the people who want to be you readers, and the poeple who are never going to read the fic no matter how many times you flash it in their face, and honestly its just really annoying when you ignore that, I can't think of a kinder way to put it.
If I filtered out crossovers, they shouldn't be there guys. And because they're NOT tagged anything but Project Hail Mary, when I DO want to read crossovers, they wouldn't have shown up anyway.
This isn't a call out to the crossover fandoms at large, of course not, or even people new to fandom space and Ao3 who really might not realise it's a thing, but at the same time it's been a thing long enough to tag accurately for everyone, and the mis-tagging is happening SO MUCH lately, I'm starting to feel its people deliberately mis-tagging, and so I want to be clear, if you're doing it on purpose, it's just annoying, its not funny, you're not a special exception, a lot of people are just blocking you, and anyone who actually wants to find what you're making, the poeple who want to form a community with you around your writing and your ideas literally CAN NOT because you tagged it wrong.
