Thanks everyone for another fantastic week of Dr Carmilla love! It was great to see your great art, cosplays, fanfics and covers! See you all next year!
If you couldn't make a contribution for the event for whatever reason, feel free to finish and still @ this blog and I'll reblog it!
Also, let me redirect you to the @mechanismswomensweek , a week for the women of the mechanisms (both crew and story). They already have prompts, so you can start preparing now!
I don't think I'll be doing a dr. Carmilla appreciation week this year unfortunately. Instead, I urge you to participate in the Mechanisms Women's Week @mechanismswomensweek! I myself want to draw something for it.
(late) painting for day 7 of dr. carmilla week. prompt was death, but she's more of an un-dead type gal, so i tried to draw her alive(ish) in an empty grave.
@drcarmillaappreciationweek
[Image ID: A watercolour painting of Maki Yamazaki as Dr. Carmilla lying in an open grave from a bird's eye view, only showing mid-chest and upwards. She is a slim, tan, Japanese woman who has chin-length dark blue hair that has hints of teal, pointy ears, brown eyes, a sharp nose, and has makeup around her left eye that looks a bit like an upside-down lowercase T, with swirls as well as two dots right underneath her lashes. Carmilla's right eye is entirely closed, but her left eye is cracked slightly open as she looks at the camera, eyebrows furrowed as she tries to focus. She has a small smirk on her face. Carmilla's hands are crossed over her chest, loosely clasped together near her neck, with fingernails that are painted a dark brown. She wears a high collared white shirt, that looks purple in the lighting, which has small purple flower print on it, as well as a dark red vest. The background is a rough body shape of brown colours, meant to show the upturned dirt from a fresh grave. The linework of the painting is thick, and several parts are shaded with markers applied on top of the paint. Some of the paint is still wet, especially the background. Some of the linework runs, and the entire drawing has a pinkish tint, presumably from the pink lighting that can be seen in the paint's reflection. End ID]
original attempt below cut because i got a bit too ambitious with the posing i think
i had a vision for this piece. unfortunately i am not that good at perspective
[Image ID: A photograph of Kae's, the OP's, desk. On the left of the photo, there is a sketchbook, which has a half-finished painting of Doctor Carmilla in a grave, similar to the one above. Her hair is bluer than the previous painting, and the perspective is as if one was looking from the crown of her head down the rest of her body. She is winking at the camera, but her features are not as recognizable as being Dr. Carmilla as the first painting. She is wearing a dark brown shirt, with a longer-sleeved red shirt underneath, and blue pants. Below the drawing is a sketched nameplate/grave that says "Carmilla XX12-XX24". To the right of the drawing is an open case of watercolors. They are a bit messy, with the colour blue specifically splattered across much of the pallette. Near the top of the photograph, there is the partial view of several book spines as well as a cup of murky paint water and the edge of a mug. Several pens and highlighters are scattered across the desk, which is wood painted turquoise, with the grain visible. End ID]

Me and @gunpowderdtim's contribution to @drcarmillaappreciationweek! For the prompt Death, a fic about Cinders and Carmilla meeting in the throne room after the battle of Zantine.
ANNND THIS IS THE LAST DAY OF DR. CARMILLA APPRECIATION WEEK!!

[ID: a video of me as Dr. Carmilla. I wear a black corset belt, black pants, a black vest and a white shirt. My hair is black with red dye. Make up wise i wesr dr. Carmillas typical eye make up and red lipstick aswell as vampire fangs. I wear red studs as esrrings and a eyepatch covering my one eye. You can also see the rose clip on my shirt. In the Video, i sorta lipsync and move to the song "Licretia my reflection" by sisters of mercy. The camera rises slowly upwards, revealing more of me.]
ok this one I worked on as soon as I learned this was a thing so it's way more put together
[Image ID: a digital drawing of Dr. Carmilla and another woman in a pristine white dress, meant to be Lorelei. Carmilla has blue-green hair and her eyepatch is over her right eye. There are burns on her skin where she is touching Lorelei, implying that Lorelei is physically hurting her. Blood is dripping from her mouth. Lorelei's face is obscured by a symbol of the sun, and she appears to be glowing with yellow and orange light. She has long dark hair and skin a few shades darker than Carmilla's. Her wrist has some blood dripping down it and staining her dress sleeve, implying that Carmilla has bit her. Lorelei has one arm protectively around Carmilla, and Carmilla is leaning into Lorelei with a content smile on her face despite the fact that she is being burned. end ID]
Aand the 6th day of Dr. Carmilla appreciation week, have a Tik Tok meme :]
@drcarmillaappreciationweek thank you for liking my cosplays so much and if you ever do that week again, i hopefully will have a bit more to show ^^
[ID: a video of me in my Dr. Carmilla cosplay. The white text reads "when someone asks about Dr. Pilchard: " and the audio is from "Cell Block Tango", specifcally the part "He had it coming, he had it coming, he only had himself to blame"..i lipsync to that part, referencing how Dr. Carmilla killed Dr. Pilchard in the song. I wear a white shirt, black vest, black pants abd a black corset belt. I hold a black cane with a silver skull shaped habdle/top. My haur is black with red dye, i wear Dr. Carmillas black eyeliner and red lipstick, aswell as vampire fangs. I wear a steampunk choker/collier, a brooch and a black - white babdana around my arm. The background is a white curtain. ]
[ID: a digital drawing of dr carmilla. she is facing right, leaning with her hands on a table, and her head hanging between her shoulders. she is wearing a white shirt with the sleeves rolled up, black pants, and brown boots. she is also wearing blue gloves and a long white apron, both of which have blood on them. on the table in front of her there is a human heart in a small puddle of blood. on the left there is an operation table. there are feet under a white cloth on the table, the rest of the body is out of frame. there are cabinets above a counter in the background. the lighting is very dim and comes from over the operation table. end ID]
something something doing terrible things for love? idk i again wanted to draw medical malpractice and blood and also organs this time
Unfortunately I'm struggling with art block and was hoping to finish this, but I'm guessing I won't be able to- but here is the sketch I made for day 2 of Dr Carmilla Appreciation Week! (And a little bit of Day 1, its octokitten family vibes :3)
[Image ID: A pencil and paper drawing. It is of a family of Octokittens, depicted as mostly octopus-like, with 8 tentacles and cat heads. A larger and more detailed Octokitten is at the center, surrounded by smaller, more blob-like Octokittens. The larger octokitten has tufts of fur by her cheeks, fangs poking out, and a design crossing over it's eye, indicating this cat is Dr Carmilla. The octokitten on her head is Ivy Alexandria, with small cheek tufts going downwards, mimicking her hair as a human. Flying in the air next to the larger octokitten is and Octokitten with wings, representing Raphaella La Cognizi. An octokitten with goggles on it's head and black eye markings, biting one of Dr Carmilla's tentacles, is in front of a fluffy octokitten with white eyes and black eye markings, representing Jonny D'Ville and Gunpowder Tim, respectively. The Toy Soldier is represented by an octokitten on the end of this tentacle with a mustache and wearing the toy soldier's signature hat. On the opposite side is an octokitten with dark markings on its tentacles hanging on to the neck area, representing Ashes O'Reilly. Hanging onto the outer tentacle on this side is an Octokitten with a Monogoggle- Marius Von Raum. At the bottom of the drawing are an Octokitten Nastya Rasputina, accompanied by a drawing of The Aurora, and an Octokitten Drumbot Brian, with a top hat and lines on its body, showing the metal panels that make up its body. /End ID]
[Image ID: a photograph of a four-inch MP4 player laying on a gray fluffy blanket. The music player is about halfway through "Exhumed" by Dr. Carmilla. Covering the normal album cover is a pen doodle of Dr. Carmilla that I made while bored after testing last year. It seens that I had even fewer pens than usual that day, so she's outlined in blue pen with the usual purple hair. She's wearing a white shirt and dark vest similar to that one commonly known image of Maki Yamazaki as Dr. Carmilla. Her eyes are covered by blush as if she were an anime character, and beside her are words that have since been blanked out because I forgot they actually mean a bad thing. This drawing, which is posing as if it were the album cover, is torn from the composition notebook, which it had been taped in. End]
day 5: music!! this is my favorite doc c song. i couldn't figure out how to get the right notes on my viola so i used the original instrumental. i didn't do the entire song because 1. i didn't like the way i sounded and 2. i couldn't get the japanese bits right :(
anyway yippee! i love being buried alive(ish) and coming to and eating people!!!! favourite pastime @drcarmillaappreciationweek
[Audio Transcription: Kae, the OP sings Exhumed by Dr. Carmilla. Their voice cracks a bit as they sing in a tenor/alto range. The background track is melancholy and creepy ukelele playing, taken from the original track. The lyrics are as follows:
When they dug me out the ground/ They first pronounced me dead/ But as I rolled my eyes/ They quickly retracted what they said/
Have I been asleep/ For a hundred years or more?/ Well I'm hungry, don't you see?"Won't you please come closer, sir"/
I'm Carmilla/ (That's 'Docteur' to you)/ You can run or you can try to hide/ But that won't protect you from/ That won't protect you from the truth!
Well, now I'm in this lab/ And it's me that's on the slab,/ Surrounded by these instruments/ That I don't understand.
Well, opportunity came/ A-knockin' roun' for me/ So please don't be afraid/ Now that I am free!/ I'm Carmilla. End Transcription]
day 4: crossover! she would be bad at redstone but try to use it constantly. to me. all her houses are made out of crimson and warped planks btw
@drcarmillaappreciationweek
[Image ID: An uncoloured pencil drawing of Dr. Carmilla as if she were a Minecraft skin. Carmilla has one hand on her hip, looking to the left while smiling slightly. She has slightly pointed ears and an eyepatch on her right eye. She wears a kimono with small flowers, has a watch on her right hand, and holds a cane in her left. The style is such that there are few sharp edges, and most of the cube-like shapes are slightly curved and softer. As there is no colour, it is hard to distinguish between many of the different shades, but Carmilla's chin-length hair is dark at the edges, lighter in the center, and the pencil is slightly smudged to better match her skin tone. The border of her kimono, as well as her undershirt, are both shaded more darkly. Surrounding her like a sort of halo are several Minecraft items and entities, all sketched lightly with no shading. Clockwise, starting bottom left, there is an ender pearl, a sitting cat, a soul lantern, a brewing stand, and a crossbow. Wreathing Carmilla's head are several hearts styled after Minecraft Hardcore hearts, with outlined cores. End ID]
Ok my first Dr. Carmilla Week post!! Mom Monday (on a friday lol)
school started for me this week and my grandparents visited so we're getting a slow start lol
[Image ID: A traditional drawing of Dr. Carmilla on the page of a composition book. She's wearing black clothes and a cape, intending to be similar to how she looked during Lashings, but I drew it during school when I couldn't look up a reference so I don't know how accurate it is. She's leaning on her cane, and looking at her right hand which appears to have blood on it. I also didn't have access to my markers when I drew this, so her hair is purple and her skin is just kinda colored in with pencil. Her eyepatch is on her left eye. An arrow points at her in blue pen, labelling her "She Who Must Not Be Named" and "the true name of my dear irl friend @titaniumcenturion." Her name had since been blacked out. Also featured on the page: A pencil doodle of Dr. Carmilla from the shoulders up from when I was still trying to figure out how I wanted to draw her, that of which I really liked and taped in. Pencil arrows point at her. A list of all nine Mechanisms in red pen, with blue checkmarks on them to indicate that they are parentless or orphans of some sort. The title of a backstory of my OC Lavender that I never wrote, and some bug stickers. The notebook is folded in half, and some space stickers from the other page can be seen. The notebook is propped up between a chromebook laptop in front and a desk lamp behind. on the chromebook laptop, figures depicting Nastya, Jonny, The Toy Soldier, and an octokitten, sit in a sort of circle. The octokitten is a glazed clay pinch pot, with a lid that has its ears. It is purple with some red accents on the ends of the legs, cheeks, and inner ears. It has big bug eyes, and only seven legs because one fell off. Nastya, Jonny, and TS are made of air dry clay, and sort of squished due to their rough transport home from the camp I made them at.]
That is a long image ID I'm so sorry screen reader people my inner writer kicked in

@drcarmillaappreciationweek
[Image ID: A digital drawing of Maki Yamazaki as Dr. Carmilla. Carmilla is a slim tan Japanese woman with chin-length turquoise hair, a distinctive nose, pointy ears, defined cheekbones, with one brown-red eye covered with a purple-red eyepatch. She hunches over slightly as she steps forward with her right foot, putting weight on that leg as well as the purple cane she holds in her right hand. The cane straps to her arm, and she grips the handle. Carmilla looks melancholy and slightly irritated, looking distinctly uncomfortable, eyes focused away from the camera. In her left hand, she holds a heart that is roughly anatomically correct, coloured with dark and slightly desaturated reds. Carmilla wears a white button-up, with a light purple vest layered on top of it. Underneath both garments, she wears a long-sleeved wine-red shirt that almost reaches her wrists. Carmilla has on a dark turquoise shin-length unpleated and unpatterned skirt, with slightly desaturated leggings of the same colour underneath, giving the unintentional effect that the skirt and leggings have melded together. Carmilla's lineart is a dark green-turquoise, with the heart being outlined in a dark red. The background is a desaturated pale pink, with stock pattern of clouds. Carmilla's shadow is projected on the background, and both her eyes are outlined in dark red in the shadow, as well as her nose and the heart, which is more detailed than in the main drawing, in a slightly lighter red.
