"Hey mom, even when I come home smelling like cigarettes with bloodshot eyes and dilated pupils,I still love you and this isn't your fault.”
I will never ever EVER not reblog. And every time I see this, it hits closer to my heart.
I promise Mami and Papi, it’s not your fault. I promise. You guys didn’t do anything wrong.
Who is Malak al-Kashef?
Malak al-Kashef is a 19-year-old activist, human rights defender, and transgender woman located in Egypt. She supported a protest against the government.
She is currently being held in an all-male prison, at risk of torture, and facing potentially, the death penalty
She was kidnapped from her home by police.
She faces the potential (fake) charges of “aiding a terrorist organization” and “misusing social media to commit a crime punishable by law.” She has already been subjected to:
Solitary Confinement
Misgendering
Sexual assault under the guise of medical examination
And potentially many other things we are unaware of. She has already been tortured. If released into the general population, she could be murdered by prisoners.
This is now her 127th day in prison (as of July 11th, 2019), and we need to do something.
Here are some ways to help:
- Signal boost.
- Get her name into the media. You think it might sound ridiculous, but the Egyptian government has shown time and time again to respond to negative press attention. Tweeting, blogging, and getting creators to make videos about the subject are not wastes of time.
- Send a fax to the Public Prosecutor, Nabil Sadek. Amnesty International recommends that you use their letter or a version similar to it. Please do edit their letter, as it has now been more than 3 times that her detention has been extended.
- Sending faxes for free internationally is very difficult to find, but you can find low-cost services like GotFreeFax ($0.70). For more options, check out this list. You can also fax (for a cost) at places like OfficeMax, OfficeDepot, and your local library.
Where can you learn more?

PLEASE DO SOMETHING TO HELP HER.
I’m VERY serious about this when I say signal boost! If someone feels uncomfortable because I’m a trendercore blog, I don’t even care just take my whole post word for word, and post it to your own blog. Just get the word out!!!
I feel personally attacked
I miss floating , feeling completely numb , not giving a fuck about a single thing but my next fix, life was so easy, I’m always thinking about getting high, that’s the thing about heroin, it changes you forever because nothing will ever feel the same again. Nothing will bring you that feeling of being wrapped up in a warm cozy blanket where nothing can touch you, nothing can hurt you, feeling so in love with anything and everything , floating floating floating
I gotta admit , sobriety looks a hell of a lot better on me
After being in jail and rehab for the last 6 months, freedom feels strange but exhilarating , just smoking a cigarette and drinking coffee outside my house with the homeless ppl downtown complimenting my shoes at 6 in the morning , fucking a hot ex heroin addict from drug court in a park in the middle of the night , you know, doin the things us sober people do , I’m getting oral surgery today then visiting my dad in the hospital , he’s getting brain surgery today to see if they can remove the tumor , I’m trying to get a job, I hate myself for catching this charge and now I have to work some shitty ass fucking job, my dad just got diagnosed with terminal brain cancer, my moms getting married, I’m just trying to stay clean for one more day, gonna get a new tattoo, what else is there to do?
it’s so disturbing to think back and realize the stuff you allowed people to do to you simply because you didn’t respect yourself enough to not let it happen
All dolled up n high like the naughty angel I am
Love yourself enough to set boundaries. Your time and energy are precious.
All research and successful drug policy shows that treatment should be increased and law enforcement decreased while abolishing mandatory minimum sentences.
I said generic stuff like "what are you drinking? And the music is very loud and sat in the dark and felt bored then laughed at myself and then felt bored again
All day I've been thinking about how bad I wanna die but i got myself to take a shower and realized it's not that I wanna die it's that I really wanna live just actually live, not this life where I feel like I'm already dead bc when my using is this bad and my relationship is this bad and unhealthy (the only relationship I have with any human right now in general sadly) the only thing to look forward to since I don't even look forward to getting high anymore is to sleep its just... It's not life. I don't feel alive .
