When I was a child, I remember feeling so sorry for my parents for having me. I have so many memories of trying to talk to them or play and they were angry or short with me because they wanted space or they were overwhelmed. I know they probably didn’t mean to make me feel bad but I felt like I’d stolen a future from them, something that would have made them happy but now could never have because of me.

I never want you to feel that way ever. I want you to know that I’ve lived an incredible life, far better than I ever imagined when I was that child feeling sorry for existing. But the clock of my life didn’t start until the moment you were born. Don’t ever think or wonder if I wish I was somewhere else, I don’t, even if I look sad or seem tired. I look forward to the future every day because of you, the days we have together I’m more excited for than anything else.

All of this to say I hope I let you know every day that I might look sad, tired, overwhelmed or annoyed but I’m exactly where I want to be and I wouldn’t change that for the world. I love you bud, and I’m lucky to have you.
