Because this is the principle of BJP. When BJP was in opposition and the Naxalite Maoists attacked security personnel in 2010, killing 76, making it the deadliest attack in recent history, then Home Minister Chidambaram offered to resign, which BJP criticised heavily, saying that a resignation would be signalling weakness to Naxals and evading responsibility.

Dharmendra Pradhan was not responsible for leaking the papers to coaching mafias, but he as an education minister still bears the responsibility, and BJP's strategy is to solve the problem rather than succumb to opposition demands.

It's incredibly disingenuous to discredit the actual demands of the people. If someone is unhappy with the government they have the complete freedom and right to protest against the same.

As far as infrastructure is concerned, it is popular knowledge that a majority of the infrastructure that has been opened since 2014, as rightly said before has had its approvals and foundations since before 2014.

And two things can be correct at the same time. I'm not denying that the current government has not done ANYTHING good, but it's important to remember that there still remain grave shortcomings, and it's absolutely the right of the citizens to protest for the same.

Also, I think if not BJP then who narrative needs to die down, because it creates this false sense of panic and an air of impending doom if the current political party is not elected, which is not the case.

There is no press neutrality and objectivity anymore, The telecom sphere has a duopoly, there is no transparency, no accountability from the PM's side, 0 press conferences held. The environment is taking the brunt of brutal and inconsiderate exploitation and expansion, adivasi are protesting. The rupee is at an all time high. The Ethanol scam is going unscathed, we are having to use it just so that the US has a market for their corn and the minister's company profits off of it. The education system is suffering, NEP has brought more pain than relief, so many government schools have been shut down. The youth is unhappy, the promised rate of employment was not achieved, papers are leaking left and right. Manipur an entire STATE has been suffering since the past 3 years. Caste related violence has seen a significant increase, in the last decade, Students protesting peacefully brutally charged and beaten. And many more...

The beauty of a democracy is in that of our ability to change a public servant, when they fail to do their job with the utmost integrity, and it's our right and the moral responsibility to change them when they do so. It's high time that we stop identifying a political party or a politician as a nation. They are two very separate things. I love and respect my country and its citizens and they have the right to answers and change.

As I've said, I honestly don't give two fucks. Indians are good at shooting themselves in the foot. Indians weren't bothered for decades when people called them street-shitters, suddenly now after the only party that pulled up the insane task of trying to make the country Open Defecation free, is getting calls to perish. Indians don't deserve progress, they deserve the 2005 era Manmohan Singh (yes, people under my comments came to praise Manmohan Singh!). A lot of the outrage rn is totally baseless. American corn? The whole point of E20 was to cut on the oil dependency and use Indian sugar cane for biofuel (and I have posts analysing this and calling out Gadkari btw). Caste violence? Under NDA, reporting about crimes has become significantly easier. You guys went from violence linked to traditional land disputes and resistance to basic economic mobility of non-dominant castes in UPA era to violence linked to bullying in digital spaces under NDA. Sure, this can be credited to general progress of society, and things could be much better, but progress will come with economic development. Most people in India don't even know why Manipur is burning. Do you? As for NEP's target and impact, that's valid. Paper leaks shouldn't have happened. But I don't understand why Indians don't go demand the heads of the ones who leaked the papers. Then again, it's impossible to read Indians minds. I hope you guys a great democracy, I'm out.

Why would you give two fucks, because your loyalty is to a political party and not its citizens. And who said that Indians were not bothered for decades? How is that your defence for everything? People did protest during the reign of other political parties as well, but of course you will be blind to your own selective outrage while blaming others for the same. And just because the previous governments had shortcomings doesn't mean that we start ignoring the ones of this government, that defeats the entire purpose of a democracy. When citizens were unhappy with the previous government they opposed so why an exception for this government? Biofuel that is reducing mileage and harming the working of cars, sure, and benefiting their private company. Tampered with government numbers and easier to lodge a complaint? What about action? I know why manipur is burning, because of the failure of the Home Minister in maintaining peace and addressing concerns. What is being demanded is accountability, that would set off a precedence, and compensation for the students that died and most importantly DIALOGUE.

India shifted rapidly to E20 because over 80% of its crude oil is imported and you as a consumer are at mercy of the Russia - Ukraine war and now the Iran - USA war. Also the fuel blend lowers greenhouse gas emissions so it's part of the "climate target" too. You can think of this whatever you want, and you can still get 100% petrol for legacy vehicles. But the sheer amount of erroneous claims, like that one you did with the American corn, is enormous. If you're going to protest against something, at least get the very basics right. It's easy to protest but it's not that easy to read and learn.
