Yes!!! I love it and I love to find the right song that transports me directly into the mindset I need. Don't necessarily care about whether the lyrics fit or not, it's mostly about vibes. It's so immersive. When I'm done writing and put my headphones down, it feels like I'm leaving that space and entering reality again.

Somehow everyone is like downplaying their own art and creativity. I do it, too, but I'm actually rereading my fanfic right now: the story I'm writing because I needed it to exist. And as narcissistic as it might look or feel, I fucking love it. Sure there are some chapters that could use a bit more work, but all in all I'm really happy with it.

I actually did a great fucking job.

So thank you writer-me, you made reader-me really happy.

Go and be proud of your creations. Fuck being modest, give yourself the compliment and the pat on your shoulder you deserve, because you wrote that chapter or drew that picture and it's awesome!!!

Hyaa seeing as you're back and I've been slacking at submitting for Wipnsday let me change that.

New chapter - still the Demon Slayer fic, but technically only about eight more chapters to go then I'm done. So scary, so exciting! It'll all be just done in about two months. Absolutely crazy.

With a satisfied smile, Kuro sheathed her weapon with a playful flourish and bowed to the kakushi. "Thank you. Let the swordsmith know I am very pleased and grateful for the speedy delivery and the pristine work." The kakushi mirrored her bow, only noticeably for deeper, reminding her briefly of Genya' s exaggerated bows, before he retreated and left the yard. Whistling through his teeth at the sight of her new sword, Sanemi got up and stretched his limbs. With a sudden, startling realization, something occurred to Kuro and she turned to the wind hashira again. "How the hell does everybody always know where I am." Sanemi shrugged, evading her bewildered gaze. "Ask your bird," he answered with a shrug, eyes searching for seemingly anything to look at but her. Withe a dismissive huff of air, Kuro let herself drop back next to Sanemi, trying to combine the clues. "So she's keeping tabs on me and reporting back to you?" Sanemi's face changed from neutral to a frown, into a grin and back into neutral. "What? No. Don't be ridiculous... tch. You sent the sweets, remember? Coincidence." Suspicious Kuro drew her brows together and looked at him, rather unimpressed by the obvious lie and his failing attempt of appearing nonchalant. "So you make small talk now?" Frowning even deeper in what Kuro could only interpret as disgust he quickly nodded. "Yes, right. Absolutely, I do." Another lie. It was impressive he wasn't fighting a laugh already like Kuro was. "Idiot. Kind of sweet though." She rolled her eyes, her words punctuated by amused giggles. Gruffly he shrugged and sighed, visibly uncomfortable with the lie and being called sweet. "Just to make sure and not all the time. When she passes by. Turned into a routine I guess. 'S not a big thing…" With a lopsided smirk, Kuro bumped his shoulder with her head and lingered for a moment, quietly happy be friends with this emotionally constipated lunatic. Eventually Sanemi spoke up when the silence started making him antsy. "Enough sap for today, save that cuddly shit for Tomioka. Come on, I want to hit someone." And without waiting for her answer he got to his feet and stomped out of the yard, leaving Kuro to scramble after his long strides.

First I pants and scribble down every little thing that comes to mind. Then the ocd kicks in and I plan and visualise and outline then I pants again until the very end. 🤔

lukewarm take: fandom thrives off of interaction. regardless of why the author has published their work for others to read (though the end goal should not be searching for popularity) people do genuinely enjoy interaction. so even if you're scared to leave a comment, know that the authors behind pieces of literature that you enjoy will truly appreciate comments that express how much you enjoyed the passion they poured into writing.

it does make a difference. especially in the middle of the AI witch hunt crisis going on, letting real authors know that you appreciated their handmade creations goes a lot farther than you may think.

don't be scared. it means a lot.

staying silent when the topic is brought up, too fearful to broach it in case of rejection, or maybe just unwilling to fully commit, and merely returning to their longing afterward.

overthinking what they say, what they do, desperate for the other's attention, just to have their eyes on them.

being unable to believe that what they feel could ever be returned, becoming complacent with the absence in their chest despite its heaviness.
