Hi everyone! I'm Sam 💕💕💕 Welcome to my Elvis fic master list! One silly idea has now lead to multiple fics throughout the years!
My writing is not suitable for minors so DO NOT INTERACT if you're under 18! Don't be a terrible human and steal someone else's work. We put a lot of time into this kind of stuff.
Thank you for taking the time to read anything I write. 💘Please feel free to message me or drop a request in my inbox to any future writings.💖💖💖
I was at the gym tonight and this sweet older lady sat next to me on the bikes. I was jamming out to Elvis, (as usual) and just trekking along. For whatever reason, I looked over at this lady’s phone next to me and she was watching some compilation of E performing on stage. It brought the biggest smile to my face. I waved my hand in her direction and showed her my lock screen of the album playing. She had this look of shock and excitement on her face.
“You like Elvis?!” She asked all excited. I told her how much I loved him and how I’ve been to Graceland. She told me she’s always loved him and tonight of all nights, she wanted to watch him perform.
How you give immense amounts of joy from wherever you are. It’s such a gift, you know? My eyes have only seen moments of time of you, literal snapshots of that beaming smile that could light up a room. And every time I see this beautiful smile of yours, I can’t help but feel your happiness. There’s so few people in universe that can have that effect on another human being. Especially one that never got to meet you. You’re a little angel to me and so many others. Thank you for giving me some of that happiness, showing me who I needed as a friend, showing me I need to take a leap of faith to do the scary thing. You will inspire me everyday. Thank you for that.🤍

You replay it in your mind and it feels like time has slowed down. This beautiful, tall man in front of you just kissed you smack on the lips. This is some girl’s dream and you just walked into his living room on a Friday afternoon and you got one. You’re still completely speechless. What do you even say after that? Thank you? No, that seems way too weird, and he’ll probably second-guess everything about having you with his band.
He has a warm smile on his face and lets go of your hand.
“Can I get you something to drink y/n?”
“Umm- uhh, maybe just some water,” you say shakily.
You don’t know what to do with your hands or how to stand like a normal human anymore. You feel completely flustered and can’t form a coherent thought.
The guys on the sofa quickly get up and move out of the room like one swift gust of wind.
“Please take a seat,” Elvis tells you. He sits back at the same place he was before and pats his hand on the sofa cushion next to him.
Everything about it screamed danger. He has so much magnetism that if you sit that close to him, you might just pass out.
You stay there frozen and wipe your clammy hands on your dress.
“I don’t bite,” he chuckles, “you can sit next to me.”
You feel your cheeks burn and quickly make your way to the seat next to him. Sheepishly, you summon the courage to look back into his eyes and you feel your heart flutter wildly. You’re transfixed by him yet again in a matter of seconds. Every detail of this man’s face is sculpted by the gods. His perfectly chiseled nose, impeccably long eyelashes, the softest lips you’ve ever felt, every feature of him has you feeling in a stupor.
You keep your hands in your lap, squeezing your palms so you can convince yourself this is a real moment and not a beautiful dream.
“I really loved the records you’re featured on. I just knew you’d be perfect for the show,” he says sweetly.
You keep your eyes low, trying to hide your embarrassment.
“Oh, thank you Elvis I- I’m so honored you’d even want me to join you,” you say shyly.
“Of course! Are you kidding? With a voice like that, how can I not be impressed? I’m so glad you picked up when Jerry called. I don’t know what I’d do if I didn’t find you in time,” he chuckles nervously.
“Oh well, the show would have gone on without me,” you jest.
“Well, I know, but I just want everything to go perfectly, you know? I’m putting this pressure on myself to make it the best show possible. I haven’t performed in front of a large crowd in so long…” He says quietly.
You see the fear and the doubt running through him. You couldn’t imagine the pressure he’s facing or the nerves to get back on stage again. You realize the whole band is going to carry that weight, too. You had to make sure you all made him look good and carry the show with him. This is going to be the biggest challenge you’ve probably had to face as a performer. Having such a huge name to live up to and have his ‘comeback,’ so to speak, in Las Vegas of all places? Oh, the pressure is on.
“You know they’re going to love you out there. They’ve missed seeing you do what you do best. I personally can’t wait to see you either. I’ve never seen you perform live,” you admit.
His eyes flash to your face and he smirks, “Yeah, pretty much everyone in the band has never seen me perform live. I guess I have to impress you guys too,” he chuckles.
“I’m sure we will be,” you smile back. There’s a soft innocence to his eyes when he hears your assurance. You find it interesting, you assumed this man had so much confidence and wouldn’t care what other people think. But the way he’s looking at you and hanging onto any other words you might say makes you realize you know nothing about this man.
You go to take a sip of water that’s sitting on the coffee table. He watches your every move and the nerves continue to rattle you. You clear your throat and try to act as normal as possible.
“Do you miss it? Performing in front of people?” You ask gently.
His eyes light up at the question and he takes a deep breath in.
“Terribly. I’m so nervous about it all, but it’s all I want to do. It’s all I was meant to do. Entertain people, you know. Just give them that joy and uplift them anyway I can,” he explains to you.
You nod your head in agreement because you’ve never heard something that resonated so much with you. That’s why you love to sing. It's the joy people get out of it. The way the music can take them to a different place and let them be carefree from society’s troubles for a brief moment. It wasn’t about the money or the fame; it’s the lasting impact you can make on someone’s life.
“I completely understand Elvis. I feel the same way. I feel so lucky to be a part of this with you,” you say gratefully.
“I’m happy you’re here y/n. I’m glad Jerry had your number and had a reason to call you,” he teases.
The comment takes you by surprise and confuses you a little.
“What does that mean?” You ask him.
He presses his lips together and tries not to laugh.
“Oh well… I probably shouldn’t say,” he snickers.
“No, no, tell me. I want to know!” You giggle. Just his reaction has you intrigued.
He looks back at you and smiles, “He was nervous calling the pretty girl. Took him like an hour to pick up the phone before he could even dial your number,” he bursts out laughing. It’s this loud, contagious laugh that instantly brightens up the room. It makes you want to laugh too. You feel your lips lifting into a smile.
“I can’t blame him, though.” He adds at the end.
You feel your cheeks turn red and avert your eyes anywhere else but his direction. Oh God, he couldn’t just say those things to you. Not being this close to you either! How the hell were you going to manage to sing inches away from this man on stage without becoming a total mess?
He suddenly grabs your hand and makes you look at him.
“I don’t mean to embarrass you, honey. I’m just stating the obvious, you really are beautiful,” he professed.
You smile softly at him and look down at your hand that’s wrapped by his. You never want to get off this couch and let him hold your hand forever.
“Thank you, Elvis. You’ve given me enough compliments to last a lifetime,” you say softly.
“I’m sure there will be more comin’ your way,” he says smoothly.
Damn it, he doesn’t quit. You find it harder to breathe and can barely look at him again.
A long silence fills the room and he doesn’t let go of your hand. Your brain is thinking of a million ways to escape and run away from this alluring man but you can’t find the will to do it. You look back at him and he’s looking everywhere but your face. His eyes take in every inch of your bare legs, up to the ruffles of your dress lying on your thighs, up to your breasts and back down. You feel on fire. Oh, for goodness sake, this man cannot be looking at you like this every time you’re in a room together. This is going to be a disaster.
You pull your hand away from his and place it in your lap.
“When’s rehearsal?” You say abruptly.
He clears his throat, trying not to make it seem he was in a complete daze, checking you out.
“Uh, tomorrow afternoon. At the MGM lot. There’s a big rehearsal space and I want everyone to meet each other there. I’ll give you the address,” he tells you.
“Okay, great.” Another awkward silence fills the room and you don’t dare try to look him in the eye.
He must notice it because he breaks the ice quickly.
“Do you want to stay for dinner tonight? I’d love to get to know you a bit more,” he tells you.
Your heart leaps in your throat, and you look at him in shock to see if he was joking. He looks at you with expectant eyes, waiting for your answer. You don’t think you can say no to dinner with your new boss, right?
“Yeah, I’ll stay. I can help make dinner if your cooks need another hand.”
What are some songs that define your Elvis experience? (Thanks! Now pass it on to another fan 🌟)
Hey anon! Thank you for the lovely question! I don't mean to sound like a broken record, (hehe) but Suspicious Minds for me has defined my Elvis experience. From learning it on guitar when I was a teenager to hearing it literally everywhere walking around Graceland, this song is just Sammy's happy song. It really does follow me everywhere I go and I can't even be mad at it lol. I have my Ashykinz that can confirm these instances of Suspicious Minds playing on cue when we walk in a building hehe. But I will just never get tired of this song. I put it on to lift my spirits or just something to jam out to.
Another song for me is Can't Help Falling in Love. Say whatever you want about the song, it's one of the greatest love songs and with Elvis' voice, it's pure gold. A personal anecdote about this song happened in Hawaii when my now husband proposed to me. It was our last night in Oahu and he found us a luau to go to. There's more lore behind that whole visit but at the end of the dinner, the emcee wanted to take a moment to acknowledge any newly engaged or newly married couples in the crowd. We were the only newly engaged couple there. So we stood up and after everyone congratulated us, they invited us out on the dance floor. And right on cue, Can't Help Falling in Love started playing. We both sobbed as we danced together and it was an incredible cap to the trip.
Those are my top two for the day! Thanks for the question anon! I appreciate it!
