The longer I remain at this apartment, the less and less I start to care about Sonic as a character, which is super sad because he was there for me through thick and thin in my childhood. Like an imaginary friend...
For clarification, I'm currently stuck living with two ex-partners, one of which has embraced the franchise when they couldn't as a kid, while the other is a certified Shadow fanatic. That's all fine and good! We're all still friends and what have you.
But seeing as I was the Sonic to one partner's Shadow, to be broken up with and watch them get together, and watch my Sonic get replaced so quickly... he's getting associated with bad emotions - jealousy, anger, sadness, etc. - and it's really making me less of a fan of him.
It should come as no surprise that, despite my attachment to Eggman/Robotnik and Metal Sonic from the beginning, as well as others like Silver, Knuckles, and Mephiles, I've become MORE attached to them as opposed to Sonic himself.
Is that sad or what?
Like, Sonic was there for me in my childhood when I was constantly moving, had very little friends, and helped me connect to those who DID want to be friends much easier. And now h's getting associated with such bad vibes... I can't look at him the same way anymore.
Maybe I'm blowing this all out of proportion and it's really not that bad... but it feels like my heart is getting broken even more now.
This wholly explains why I didn't bring back my Boom!Sonic to Tumblr. Why I've had to distance some of my muses from what they would consider friends/family. It sucks, man.
If you read this far, good on you, cause I just wanted to put down my words and feelings somewhere. I ain't looking for sympathy or anything like that. Just a small place to vent before the emotions blow me up or something. :P

It's not Sonic-based, but whatever. It's hard have a hyper-focus on two fandoms/franchises.
