So this is gonna be a REALLY weird post from me, but there's this cat cafe I frequent that's on the ropes and has set up a crowdfunder, because otherwise they'll have to close at the end of the year :')
Of the many many animal cafes in Tokyo, I have loved Nyankoto Cat Cafe for a long time because of how much they genuinely care for their animals, not just as moneymakers. They have multiple cats with health conditions, including one who sadly passed away just months ago from cancer. The older cats who are too aged or unwell have retired to the owner's house where she continues to post pics of them for fans who miss them.
But between the vet costs and multiple sewage backups in their building, they either close, or if they get funding they can move - otherwise it's unlikely the owner can afford to keep all the cats and they'll have to split up and go to different people after living together all their lives :(
The smallest donation is just 1000 yen, or about $6 USD. They'll take paypal and credit card incl from overseas. In total they're asking for about $20k USD to relocate the store, and they're halfway to their goal!
I cannot overstate how much I love these cats (especially Chachamaru) so I will lovepost about my favs under the cut:
CHACHAMARU MY BELOVED MY BEST BOY!!! he looooves sitting on people's laps and is the most athletic of all the cats, loves to stalk the others. Also tries to jump on your back to use it as a springboard to get up to the top of tall cabinets.
Kinta, an old man, who's been with the shop since they opened! If you kneel on the floor he Will crawl between your knees and settle in for butt slaps. He also loves his shrimp :3 and if he catches a toy, he'll prance around the store with it, calling loudly to make sure everyone can see how good he did.
Fuku, who looks like some kind of stuffed animal... likes to put his paws up neatly to lounge on your leg, and also taking rides on your back.
The most recent arrival, Ame, a rescue kitten in 2023 or so! She's full-grown now but still soooo itty bitty. Loves to Yell. The professional Yeller of the store.
Ai, a sweet sweet lady with the softest fur you ever did touch. Purrs like an engine when you groom her and flips over so you can get to her belly. Cat that likes belly rubs.
And many many more beloved kitties!!! Since I can't have cats of my own these guys really are the anchor of my mental health and I dread to think if they really were to close :( So if you're able to give, please! Please! Thank you!!
This is my favourite image from the whole artbook. The lightining is beautiful and warm. The composition makes me feel like Im in the restaurant with them. The elaborate detail. Mira already has the gay sit! This feels like the establishing shot at the beginning of a new scene.
Rumi has more pressing matters to attend to at the moment but she is definitely going to need to do some photoshoots and photoshop her in with some pics of Muri or the girls are going to blow many gaskets lol.

Hello! Oh my god, was this back in March? I'm sorry I took so long - but I vividly remember TRYING SO HARD to post the 4th chapter of Wolfish Behavior and then AO3 was out and I was having a whole meltdown with my friends because I wanted to show the update soooo bad ahahaha!!! xD I hope you are also having the nicest of days!
So Im pretty much familiar with your Rumi x Zoey dynamic (big fan btw) cuz I assume they're your main ship, but the relationship tag in wolfish behavior is polytrix. What's the dynamic gonna be like for Rumi and Mira?
Thank you ough I do love Zoerumi! I saw this ask a little while ago, before ch5 was posted, so hopefully it's been answered to some degree - but I like to think about very sweet and kind of tentative Rumira. Earnest and silly. They're neighbors! Rumi brings her flowers! And maybe Mira will have a few more appliance-related woes! 🍞

Rumi, while blunt, is more curious than accusatory. Zoey stares at her with a little tilt of her head, and it isn’t until she mutters a confused ’huh?’ that Rumi stammers out an explanation.
“Oh. I just meant,” she scratches the back of her neck, setting down a tray of juice as she crouches near Zoey. “Your pencil moves differently when you’re writing—fast, like how you think. And you’re, uh.” Rumi awkwardly gestures towards her notebook, balanced on her knees as she sits on the floor by the opened sliding door of the hanok.
“Oh!” Zoey grins. “I’m drawing! It’s—uh—come here.” She beckons Rumi over with an enthusiastic wave of her hand, until Rumi is peering over her shoulder. “It’s an oriental greenfinch—or at least I think so? There’s so many new birds here that I’ve never seen back home, I kinda wanna start drawing them all. I mean, I guess I lived in the city, so there wasn’t all that many birds to find, and I definitely didn’t hike as much as I could have, so—well, yeah, I’m just rambling now, and—”
Rumi's listening. She's listening and looking intently at the margins of her notebook as Zoey holds it up for her to see, and there, a little ways to the side of a random drafted verse, is a drawing of the greenfinch. She’s pleasantly surprised by how carefully Rumi looks at it. "It's beautiful."
