Every path is the right path. Everything could have been anything else and it would have just as much meaning.

Hollywood Farmers’ Market
What comes to mind when you hear the term “Hollywood”? Is it red carpets and cameras flashing? Is it the Walk of Fame? Do you think of Capitol Records? Maybe it’s the countless theatres sprinkled throughout the busy streets and newly constructed apartment buildings?
To many, 10,000 people to be exact, Hollywood holds one of their most precious resources…food. Fresh, locally & sustainably grown, organic food to be precise. I’m talking about the Hollywood Farmers’ Market, located on avenues Selma and Ivar. This market boasts 200 vendors, live music, fresh food and good company. Established on May 5, 1991, the Market will be celebrating its 25th anniversary this year.
When I first moved to Los Angeles, I was about six months into my food journey. I had cut out processed and packaged foods and was mainly eating fruits and vegetables. My barren and desolate hometown in New Mexico was a serious bind on my wallet and my choice of fresh food. Fresh was synonymous with expensive. Imagine my delight when I reached the legendary land of milk and honey that is SoCal. You mean to tell me that avocados grow all year round? And my fruit choices consist more than just apples and bananas? I could get used to a place like this!
Within the first few weeks in LA, it became apparent that agriculture is more than just a way of life for the farmers nestled miles away from the smog and bustling cities. Growing, cultivating, harvesting, the very essence of Mother Nature herself flows through the Golden State; it just might be harder to recognize through the concrete, construction, and hours spent sitting in traffic.
The Hollywood Farmers’ Market was created not only to support Californian farmers, but also build a safe place for the community to gather together and celebrate each other. Regardless your background, social status, history, or diet, the Farmers’ Market in Hollywood doesn’t discriminate. Some have attended since they were in their mamma’s belly and, if you’re lucky, can tell you their best kept secrets. Others come for their first time and walk slowly down the street, staring wide-eyed at all the possibilities. It might be that Sundays bring out LA’s finest, or the early mornings convey a sense of calm and relaxation. But no matter who you ask, the Hollywood Farmers’ Market has the best food, the best prices, and the best people. But don’t take my word for it. See for yourself. The Market might just reinvent your definition of Hollywood.

what does kissing a girl feel like?
sometimes she’s exhausted from studying and you bring her a favourite snack and as you lean down to place it in front of her she brushes her lips against your jawline, fingers trail across the back of your neck. sometimes, she’s teasing you about how you put your shirt on backwards and you grab her elbow gently and pull her towards you, biting her lip gently to punish her and sliding your tongue across her chapped lips. then, sometimes, there are nights when you’re holding hands, just a regular evening, walking the streets eating an ice cream and she calls your name - you turn to her and she lathers half her ice cream cone across your cheek and mouth before cover your lips with her own; giggling and pushing your back against the wall, sliding her knee in-between your legs, sticky fingers dropping the cone onto the sidewalk before pressing them against your face, neck, and then shoulders.
it’s warm and soft, rough and exciting, loud, quiet, wonderful.
Lost in the stars.

Tucked away in an unassuming shopping center in South Pasadena, a treasure trove of Vegan Asian fusion awaits the taste buds of herbivores and meat-eaters alike. Charm Vegan stands apart from the countless other vegan food joints by one important common denominator: soy products. For customers wanting to avoid soy at other restaurants, they might be forced to settle and order a simple fried rice dish or stick with sauce-less steamed veggies. There's no such compromise at Charm Vegan. Here, you're given the option of organic tofu, or substitute for extra vegetables which include snow peas, broccoli, carrots, and bok choy. Their meat alternatives include soy meat for one dollar and soy shrimp or soy fish for two dollars. Appetizers range from light and mild Edamame to a flavor explosion of Crispy Enoki. Their signature dish is a gluten-free Pad Thai. For you ice cream lovers, never fear, LA's top rated vegan ice cream, Divine Dips, can make an appearance at your meal with a special Thai Tea flavor. Don't feel like going out? Charm Vegan delivers. A new favorite of mine is their pineapple fried rice dish. Sweet, tangy, and extremely satisfying. Withdrawals immediately began after the kind waitress cleared the table. Just don't make the same mistake I did and asked the waitress for "maximum spice". Charm Vegan is now my go-to stop. Not only for great quality vegan fare, but also delicious Asian fusion I didn't know I needed.
