Hi, everyone!  Sorry I kind of disappeared!  In February, I went to Costa Rica on a mission trip for 10 days, and then immediately after we got back, I drove across the country.  And after that, I haven’t had internet in the apartment I’m currently staying in until …. oh, yesterday.  

BUT, hopefully, I should be back, though I might only be on a couple of days a week.

The Day the Earth Totally Moved

The fact that this beautiful, intelligent woman just referenced a comic book character- and an obscure one at that- made the fuzzy feeling in his stomach increase. He had to rein in his excitement. The true blue geek in him wanted to ask if she’d read the latest issue and what her thoughts were on Ant-Man. Personally, Alan thought he was a jerk. Janet can do much better.

"The Wasp is great!" he settled on saying. “The Scarlet Witch is one of my favorites,” he hesitated and then proceeded, "And Captain America. Well..Bruce Banner is really neat too. More Bruce fan then an actual Hulk fan. I think he gets overshadowed by his creation but the guy is really brilliant and he does amazing things."

Alan promptly shut his lips when he realized that he’d done exactly what he’d inwardly advised himself not to do. "Sorry. I’m a bit of an enthusiast." 

At the mention of the ‘dangerous’ lab he raised a mischievous eyebrow. "Dangerous? Gamma radiation?" He laughed. "I’ll risk it."

He made sure to make sure eye contact with her before she took off. "I’m looking forward to the movie, Lora."

"And that's one of the things I like about you," Lora couldn't help but tell him.  He was embarrassed about his love of comic books, but he really didn't have to be.  

When he made eye contact with her, though, she felt her breath catch momentarily, then she smiled back at him.

"I am, too," she murmured, smile still broad across her features.  "I'll see you then."

And with that, she turned and forced herself to go back to the laser lab, beaming all the while.

The rest of the week passed fairly quickly; it turned out that both she and Alan were too busy, this week, for her to show him the laser lab, but they could always set something up for later.  

Provided that tonight went well, of course.  

Lora was looking forward to this immensely, but she had to admit that she was slightly more nervous than she had been on Tuesday.  

After she'd gotten dressed, she'd checked herself over once more, worrying that she might be ... overdressed.  But at least she knew she looked good.  

Now, all she had to do was wait.  And keep herself from getting too nervous.

"Five more minutes." [from Lora. ^^]

Alan called up to their bedroom, announcing the completion of coffee and breakfast. He heard some sort of mumbled response that he couldn’t quite decipher. He carefully placed both plates of pancakes on the kitchen table before bounding up the stairs and into their bedroom. His foot caught in one of Lora’s discarded skirts that littered their floor. Alan cursed under he breath as he tried to shake the article of clothing from his foot.  At the last moment he was able to kick it away and find his footing.

"I’m sorry, what was that, my love?" he asked as he crawled onto the bed, purposefully jostling her out of the nest she’d created for herself. "I didn’t quite hear what you said? Was it something about finding me irresistible in the morning? That was it, wasn’t it?"

He ducked to try and find her face buried in her pillow. He tapped his lips, "these lips aren’t going to kiss themselves," he said with a broad smile and a wink.

Lora was decidedly not a morning person.  The last time she could remember that she had willingly gotten up early was Christmas morning.  And she had been twelve.  

After that, it had been all downhill from there.  

And yet, Alan was somehow insanely chipper in the mornings; she couldn't understand it.  Or how she loved him in spite of it.  Actually, it was part of the reason she loved him.  There were so many little things about Alan that she adored and, though she didn't quite understand it, his morning person-ness was one of them.  

One of the nicer things about the fact that Alan actually liked to get up in the mornings was that he usually had breakfast ready by the time she managed to drag herself out of bed.  

Even though she wasn't fully awake, she laughed at Alan's words, a laugh which turned into a groan as he dislodged her from her nest of pillows and blankets.  

Rolling onto her back after he tried to find her face buried in her pillow, Lora propped herself up just enough to find Alan's face and kiss him, as per incidental request.  

"You're lucky I do find you irresistible," she said with a light laugh.

Tron 50 - Dance

I have seen a grand total of one Alan/Lora wedding picture (drawn beautifully by Avali, whom we should all strive to be like when we grow up.) on the interwebz. Maybe I haven’t been looking hard enough—and I have looked—but nonetheless I am disappointed. I am also disappointed with myself for not drawing something like this sooner, as I’ve had numerous ideas lying about for some time now. But from now on I want wedding shenanagins from you guys, okay? Okay. ~~~ I think it’s impossible for me to draw an 80’s wedding dress not influenced in some way by Princess Diana’s. Such glamor. Also, I think this is the best drawing of Alan I’ve ever done and I finally remembered to draw his glasses woah.

Tron 50 - Picnic

It was rather unfortunate that the area received the worst thunderstorm of the summer on that particular day. They had planned such a delightful lunch, and it was one of the rare times when their schedules were clear for the day. I love dressing these two up in 80’s clothes. I’m a huge dork for the 80’s, especially the fashion. I really want Lora’s jacket. ~~~~ It’s been a little while since I’ve drawn some Tron art. I’ve been super busy the last few weeks doing a show which is now over, and now I’m on Spring Break, which gives me plenty of time to draw. We’ve been having some really rainy and cold weather lately—luckily I’ve spent the whole week in various coffee shops and bookstores reading. It’s nice when the weather coincides with your plans.
