I really need you to explain the transfem Metal Sonic thing because I have NO clue where you got it from.

ADHD Sonic is something anyone with a good grasp on neurodiversity can gather if they enjoy the series, NiGHTS would probably exist in Sonic’s universe if Yuji Naka wasn’t sent to prison, but transfem Metal Sonic? I really need this one explained to me because I’m fairly certain you’re the only person I have ever seen claim that.

Okay so the Transfem Metal Sonic thing is kinda a fandom darling? And I'm not transfem so I might not be the best person to explain it but kinda the thing is like. Metal was built to emulate this boy. The entire basis of his existence is to "be exactly like this boy." Be the rough-and-tumble, ready-to-go, competitive leader character that's, you know, usually attributed to little boys. And his entire purpose in life is to be as close to this boy as possible, to surpass him, to become more him than the boy himself. To be the best at being him. It's literally all he thinks about because it's all he was raised to think about.

But the idea of her being transfem. Is looking at that characterization and seeing it as "oh. This is what being raised not knowing you're trans is like. Being raised to see yourself as one thing that you know deep down you aren't and you are so obviously doing something wrong and everyone can tell you aren't what you're supposed to be but you just can't place your finger on why."

For Metal Sonic it's bc he lacks Sonic's humanity and empathy, but we do see Metal care about Robotnik, and occasionally the other robots, so he has a bit of that, just not as big or healthy a friend group as Sonic. So what if it's not the lack of Sonic's friendships, but because "he" isn't as much like Sonic as he was built to be after all? And it's not something bad, it's not a fault in his programming, it's not something he just has to work harder to be better at? It's just a part of him that has been there from the moment of his inception, that nobody intended, but that makes him an entirely different person than the one the world sees him as.

IDK I may be butchering the interpretation cause again, not transfem. But literally I just love and see so much Transfem Metal art that I just legit forget sometimes she doesn't use she/her in canon

There has to be a gnarly case of classic fandom misogyny behind people deciding that Ted's whole "people who are alive and people who are fucking dead" speech was about Pete, who's only a background character in this show, and Ted never even mentions, rather than Charlotte, who is pretty much the only person that Ted is shown to genuinely deeply care about and her corpse is literally right in front of him in that scene.

The woman he was in love with but couldn't have anything beyond a workplace affair with was just shot in front of his eyes because he left her alone with her already infected husband that she couldn't let go of but sure, he was thinking about his brother that we haven't seen him interact with in the entire hatchetverse other than their cameo in black friday and the start of abstinence camp where he makes him get out of his car and walk to the camp because he got scared to go back there. Sure.

Jax might be the most popular trans woman in media. Shes a main character (alongside pomni) in one of the most successful indie series of all time, and she is repeatedly shown struggling with dysphoria and internalized misogyny/transphobia. and nobody had any problems with that until they put a bow on her and said it outright in the finale.

Why do you think her being trans wasn't confirmed until the finale? coincidentally why did so many prior TADC fans seemingly jump ship as soon as episode 9 came out? (they have the same answer!)

Jax's story is about a trans girl who hates herself and is suffering because of transphobia. Her struggles are deeply personal and brutally realistic to what it means to be trans, so of course she connected with millions of struggling trans people. But she could never have had this impact if people knew she was trans in episode one.

Jax became one of the most famous instances of trans representation because she benefited from people treating her as cis and giving her attention accordingly.

so of course they would be mad and hate the finale, it told them that the entirety of the show they had been watching a trans girl, promoting her message that trans people are struggling, and that we should be supported.

But people weren't ready to admit that they had seen themselves in her, they had accidentally sympathized with the people they demonized, they had seen her struggles as one of their own and promoted her. But "hes trans?? he cant be!" and "the series was bad anyway" is their response to creating and elevating a message that will teach so many trans woman that they aren't alone, and that they can heal.
