Thursday therapy review (almost forgot):

Said I would discuss this with my therapist and then I did. So now we’re doing the “how to be in the moment” without a) hurting anyone else or b) putting myself in a little glass box so no one can touch me with a side of “oh, that church you went to was extra fucked up and you’re basically Wednesday Addams on the inside where it counts”

#Was going on an excited tangent about god of war to my mum #Got really into it because I genuinely love the game #She interrupted to tell me I was a really good storyteller #And I came to an abrupt stop #To immediately ask if that was sarcastic #Thought that I'd been goin on too long and being annoying #Never actually crossed my mind that I'd actually been tellin the story well #(It wasn't sarcastic btw :))

thinking about how atreus didn't really get any of kratos's features — he doesn't have his dark hair or his yellow eyes or his olive brown skin, he's a perfect carbon copy of his mother. her red hair, her blue eyes, her pale skin, can you imagine what that must be like for him?? seeing so much of his mother when he looks in the mirror, how much he must miss her when he sees his own face? can you imagine what it must be like for kratos, to see so much of faye in their boy's eyes?

#OPs tags are gorgeous and make me feel things:#losing a parent when you're young that you grow up looking like a 1 to 1 recreation of #and having your other parent see them in you every time they see you #and the thought of atreus dealing with the similar feeling of seeing someone who gave you life in your own face after theyre gone #is comforting but also pains me to imagine him thinking of #the thought of atreus growing his hair out during his journey to find the giants and ends up looking even more like his mother #or the thought of him finding *comfort* in their similarities‚ like shes still there in the smile they share #i also cant help but feel like that might be a reason for the disconnect between kratos and atreus before they mended their relationship #like kratos already feels he's not worthy to be atreus's father and when atreus is born he looks nothing like kratos #and kratos is *relieved* because atreus wont have to grow up with the ghost of sparta's eyes #and its easier to distance himself for atreus's sake and divorce himself from the role of father #so atreus can take even more after his mother that he already looks exactly like #but then she dies and kratos is left with his son who looks just like his mother‚ with her eyes and her mannerisms and her lessons #and not an ounce of kratos's influence in his life #and kratos has to deal with that and come to terms with that and be there for atreus #and he does! even if there a moments where his throat feels tight seeing the quick flashes of faye in atreus's features #and his heart hurts because he misses her so much #but he loves atreus more than his heart hurts in grief #im emo over the kratos-faye-atreus family and have my own issues to work through can you tell

the mario kart game mode nintendo won’t tell you about

this is something @pagalini and i have enjoyed doing recently, so i will share it with the internet

it is called

DEATH BLENDER

how to enjoy death blender mode:

1 - boot up mario kart 8

2 - hit that multiplayer, baybeeeee

3 - select vs. race

4 - choose those sweet sweet characters

5 - under the custom rules, set the speed to 150cc (or 200 if you’re feeling frisky), items to ‘bob-ombs only’ and course to ‘choose’ (the track is important to this mode). race number is however many times you want to repeat this atrocity

6 - navigate to the leaf cup and select ‘baby park’

7 - regret your choices

baby park is a short ring of a track, with a total of 7 laps rather than the usual 3. because of this, you can be affected by items used any of the racers, be they first or last place or anywhere in between.

the upshot of this is everyone racing very fast around a tiny track, desperately trying (and failing) to avoid explosions coming at them from all angles while doing their best to dish out their own destruction

winning is not the aim of this game mode - it is simply the unadulterated enjoyment of chaos in its purest from.

during the race, you are a worshipper of bacchus, god of frenzy and ecstacy, and death blender is how you express your devotion

bonus modes:

choose each other’s racers, preferably ones with high speed and terrible turning

change the cpu to hard so that the other racers know exactly when to blow you the fuck up

Let’s not let anyone miss this, okay? Someone linked an article above in case y’all want to check your facts.

This is not okay. If you’re having trouble seeing the big deal, how would you feel if someone went and blew up your grandmother’s grave so they could build a fence between their house and their neighbor’s? I’m not sure how well that translates culturally, but it’s the best analogy I can come up with.

I’m not Native American and I see how wrong this is. If you can look at this on top of everything else and support Trump, get the fuck off my blog, unfollow me, and go do some fucking research on the man you’re supporting oh so loyally.

!Please Help!

I went ahead and made a go fund me for Thor. I set a loose goal, subject to be raised if they need to keep him for longer than projected.

He’s at the vet right now for a pretty bad UTI, they needed to flush his kidneys, and drain his bladder, along with inserting a catheter which had to be put in via minor surgery (his urethra was too inflamed to go…up) He’s wracked up nearly a 2k bill so far, with only more expenses to be added (will show proof of final bill when we receive it)

Please take time to read my campaign and consider donating or reblogging this! My wife and I live paycheck to paycheck, and were not prepared for this expense. Usually we have a safe amount of savings, but I’ve been taking over a lot of my father’s bills after he was in a crash that broke his neck, and it’s really been a hit to our finances.
