De-Transitioning Individuals and Stories (please reblog and add your own stories or stories of others if you’d like)
Carey Callahan
In an illuminating YouTube video, Carey Callahan, a young liberal woman, describes her “de-transition” from identifying as a “transman” and exposes some inconvenient truths about the “trans” community on which the mainstream press never reports:
“I used to believe I was…a trans guy, and I stopped believing that….When I was trans…I felt that my trans identity should not be pathologized, that it was a healthy beautiful thing…that I was making these decisions from a clear state of mind….Looking back, I do not think I was in a clear state of mind, and I absolutely think that I was operating under some delusional ideas about what it would take to pass as a dude. The feelings that I had interpreted as gender dysphoria were actually long-term trauma symptoms that I had never addressed.
Every step of the process, every step I took in affirming that trans identity, life got worse….People in my little trans bubble were some of the most anxious people I’ve ever met…and coping with it in a real weird way. Lots of everyday drug use, eating disorders, compulsive working out…lots of over-the-top sex stuff, cutting, alcoholism….It was obvious that people…were not doing well.”

Frank Dalessandro
Another de-transitioner, this one a young man who had been pretending to be a woman, explains his epiphany regarding his “transition”:
“I felt like I was just doing something [i.e., “transitioning”] I didn’t need to do. I don’t feel that it 100% came from me. I don’t feel that organically, by myself, I would have done that. It was just something that the circumstances I was in, and the surroundings I was in, the influences I had…made me make these moves….At some point, I realized…I really didn’t want to do it. People told me that I would have less doubts and I would feel super confident and sure of myself as a female when I took the hormones, but honestly as soon as I got on them, I started questioning myself more and more.”

A de-transitioner who calls herself “Crash” shares her convictions regarding the tragic reasons many women adopt a male identity:
“Sometimes women take on a trans identity and transition due to trauma that we live through….I don’t think many people know this….I know a lot of other women who feel like their dysphoria or trans identity or transition…were a reaction to trauma. For those of us who transition, we didn’t go into our transitions…thinking that we’re reacting to trauma….We had dysphoria that we were trying to alleviate by changing our bodies….
Some women end up identifying as trans…because we lived through trauma that is in some way connected with us being women, with having a female body….A lot of us survive sexual violence. We were raped or survived some other kind of assault. A lot of us are child sexual abuse survivors. Some of us were attacked for being lesbians…My mom’s suicide played a huge role.”

Cari Stella
Of the many tragic consequences of this science-denying sexuality dogma is the fact that “transitioning” is harming people. Society is marching blindfolded into a brave new dystopian world whose victims are increasingly children who will one day tell their stories of regret—stories like that of de-transitioner, Cari Stella, who “transitioned socially at 15,” started taking testosterone at 17, had a double mastectomy at 20, de-transitioned at 22, and recently said this:
“[De-transitioners] are not just statistics….We’re real people….I’m a real live 22-year-old woman with a scarred chest, a broken voice, and a five o’clock shadow.”

Life as a Woman
I sought out a prominent gender psychologist for evaluation, and he quickly assured me that I obviously suffered from gender dysphoria. A gender change, he told me, was the cure. Feeling that I had nothing to lose and thrilled that I could finally attain my lifelong dream, I underwent a surgical change at the age of forty-two. My new identity as Laura Jensen, female, was legally affirmed on my birth record, Social Security card, and driver’s license. I was now a woman in everyone’s eyes.
The gender conflict seemed to fade away, and I was generally happy for a while.
It’s hard for me to describe what happened next. The reprieve provided by surgery and life as a woman was only temporary. Hidden deep underneath the make-up and female clothing was the little boy carrying the hurts from traumatic childhood events, and he was making himself known. Being a female turned out to be only a cover-up, not healing.
I knew I wasn’t a real woman, no matter what my identification documents said. I had taken extreme steps to resolve my gender conflict, but changing genders hadn’t worked. It was obviously a masquerade. I felt I had been lied to. How in the world had I reached this point? How did I become a fake woman? I went to another gender psychologist, and she assured me that I would be fine; I just needed to give my new identity as Laura more time. I had a past, a battered and broken life that living as Laura did nothing to dismiss or resolve. Feeling lost and depressed, I drank heavily and considered suicide.
At the three-year mark of life as Laura, my excessive drinking brought me to a new low. At my lowest point, instead of committing suicide I sought help at an alcohol recovery meeting. My sponsor, a lifeline of support and accountability, mentored me in how to live life free from alcohol.
Sobriety was the first of several turning points in my transgender life.
As Laura, I entered a two-year university program to study the psychology of substance and alcohol abuse. I achieved higher grades than my classmates, many of whom had PhDs. Still, I struggled with my gender identity. It was all so puzzling. What was the point of changing genders if not to resolve the conflict? After eight years of living as a woman, I had no lasting peace. My gender confusion only seemed to worsen.
During an internship in a psychiatric hospital, I worked alongside a medical doctor on a lock-down unit. After some observation, he took me aside and told me I showed signs of having a dissociative disorder. Was he right? Had he found the key that would unlock a childhood lost? Rather than going to gender-change activist psychologists like the one who had approved me for surgery, I sought the opinions of several “regular” psychologists and psychiatrists who did not see all gender disorders as transgender. They agreed: I fit the criteria for dissociative disorder.
It was maddening. Now it was apparent that I had developed a dissociative disorder in childhood to escape the trauma of the repeated cross-dressing by my grandmother and the sexual abuse by my uncle. That should have been diagnosed and treated with psychotherapy. Instead, the gender specialist never considered my difficult childhood or even my alcoholism and saw only transgender identity. It was a quick jump to prescribe hormones and irreversible surgery. Years later, when I confronted that psychologist, he admitted that he should not have approved me for surgery.

Now You Know (Source)
Why though? 😳
A Czech girl here to extensively talk about her country! This is actually fun tradition, and the ‘beating’ is mostly symbolic. It stings a bit but I can’t say that I’d consider it unbearably painful or abusive. Nobody forces women to participate, and today people only go to the other people they know. And honestly I find it much more preferable to tradition where they spill water on you or even worse perfume. (I did that once and I it was annoying and I smelled horrible. I’m happy for whipping thank you) Though there’s like revenge day for women who then spill water on guys. (I never did, or haven’t seen it done though)
As to why. Traditionally it is not because the men want to cause harm to the women, the spring whipping was meant as a way for women to stay healthy, pretty and fertile for the following year. The whip is called ‘Pomlázka’ which comes from the word ‘Pomlazení - Omlazení’ which translates into Rejuvenation. Young twigs are used for the whip to transfer the ‘life force’ into women.
The whip is usually traditionally made out of pussy willow so it’s flexible and women are more usually whipped on their legs rather than backsides, though I guess you usually cover both. And it’s not only unmarried women. Nowadays in most region it’s ‘all’ the women. Even my grandma gets symbolic whipping.
It was also a form of symbolic ‘courtship’. Traditionally on Easter we decorate actual eggs. There are many ways how to do this, personally I love decorating with bee wax (I got beekeepers in the family) but also with onion peels and flowers.
Decorated with wax
Decorated with straw
Now the eggs are also a symbols of New life. And men ‘court’ women by whipping them (in the past some women actually took offence if nobody came to them) and the women give the men the decorated eggs as a sign of forgiveness and thanks for the rejuvenation. In some regions they also decorate their whips with bows. And Guys have to sing a Eastern Carol asking for the eggs.
It sound kinda brutal when you say they whip women, and sometimes there are alcohol issues, but generally it’s really tame and I find it to be fun tradition.
Thank god you showed up before the 14 year old social justice bloggers did
If anything the explanation only made this worse, this is still incredibly gross.
surprise, i still hate it
I’m from Slovakia, we have this tradition too! What’s more, over here the tradition also includes men taking buckets of cold water a pouring / splashing it over women. Sometimes they group up and some hold the woman so she can’t escape.
Looks disturbing and completely messed up? That’s because IT ABSOLUTELY IS. Seriously, I have no words for how horrible this tradition is. Ever since I was a child I had no choice but to be drenched in cold water every Easter. It’s like the Ice bucket challenge except you have no choice and you have to do it multiple times a day. And as if that wasn’t enough, you have to reward the men with money and chocolates for this!! Imagine being a girl and seeing that your little brother gets more pocket money than you get in a year and a stash of chocolate just for going around and whipping and splashing female family members. And then you have to pay him too for the terrible experience!! I always hated Easter. And if you dare speak out against this horrible disgusting tradition, you are instantly written off as a west leaning radical who wants to destroy our country and traditions. Seriously, many traditions CAN be evil and most often are terribly sexist and have no place in modern society.

OH MY GOD THIS IS A PERFECT REPRESENTATION
I’m all for fighting for marriage equality in the LGBT community. But we’re so focused on that no one knows about this problem.
W…wait Thats a thing????
Yep! The man I refer to as my husband? We aren’t actually married. We can’t be.
If I married him, the government would literally expect me to care for him and be his sole source of income. He would lose all of his benefits, including SSDI. Spouses are expected to share income and that effects ALL of his benefits, even his health insurance. We simply can’t afford to be married.
But it goes even further than that. If I were disabled, our incomes would STILL be combined, meaning BOTH of us would have our benefits cut.
For people reviving supplemental income, their benefits can be cut anywhere from 25% of their current income all the way down to 0%
In fact, one of the stipulations of receiving income under the adult disabled child program (which provides benefits for people who were disabled before age 22) is that they LITERALLY never be married.
I normally don’t link to blog posts as resources, but since social service resource sites like to dress this problem up and make it seem smaller than it really is, I’m gonna call it appropriate! Check it out!

I’m upset about the situation in case you couldn’t tell.
THIS AFFECTS MILLIONS YOOO
military worship in this country is out of fucking control
excuse me?
military worship in this country is out of fucking control
Yea you’re right, we shouldn’t honor the people willing to risk their life to save ours and defend our country … oh
Military worship in this country is out of fucking control
I’m in the military and yes it’s out of fucking control. Most of the people I know in the military feel the same way. You civilians need to calm the fuck down. Most of us joined in our teens or early twenties. For a lot of us it was because we needed a job, and we didn’t see any other options, and this job has good benefits, especially for an uneducated young person in America. We get healthcare and education!! That’s some tempting fucking fruit. But this is a JOB. Some people in the military become heroes, that’s true. Jumping on grenades, defusing bombs, dragging a wounded person from the middle of a firefight. They usually end up dead in the process. Those people deserve respect, in my opinion. They give their lives for their friends, no matter whether or not you agree with the policies that put them there in the first place. But a lot of people in America reflexively claim that everyone in the military is a hero, full stop. This isn’t true and it lets people look the other way when something is actually wrong in the military, because it’s the military, they’re heroes, they can do no wrong.
We’re doing a job, and a lot of us are never really put in harm’s way. I work in a climate controlled lab for 8 hours a day, for instance. Really grueling. Such a hero. This fawning lip service of an infallible military doesn’t do us any good. I know people who have bought into it, who have heard so many people tell them that they’re heroes that they actually believe it, and they are the stupid and dangerous ones. Joining the military does not make you a hero, and calling us heroes might make you feel all warm and fluffy and red white and blue but it doesn’t do anything for the people that end up on the streets with PTSD or come home with life-changing injuries or in a box. We’re human beings, not some concept that you can just mindlessly adulate and then feel better about yourself.
☝️🏽☝️🏽☝️🏽☝️🏽
oh boy just in time for the 4th of July
Speaking as a disabled veteran: it’d be one thing if the fucking hero worship MEANT ANYTHING. But it’s a bunch of empty loud words about how Brave and Noble everyone in the military is (nah some of us are assholes) and then when it comes to, oh I don’t know, paying a soldier enough to feed their family without food stamps, or giving disability compensation without a NIGHTMARE fight with the country that claims to “care” so much. Plus the whole “sending us off to kill other people to make rich men richer while innocents die for it” thing. It’s not “defending freedom” to shove our troops into everyone’s business in countries that happen to have oil and such Military worship isn’t only annoying, it’s a hollow lie that’s basically dangerous to everyone
Legit some of the most disgusting human beings i ever met were in the marines in my unit
I know a lot of veterans and young people newly enlisted, and a higher percentage than you’d think are young white dudes who openly announce that they enlisted because they “wanted to kill people”, and who come home and brag about it, threaten people and pick fights back home just because they can.
This is what military worship in culture and media, toxic masculinity, and racist dehumanization of the state’s enemies does. This is the kind of person and mindset the military attracts. War is a game to these guys; they aren’t even going because they care about their country, but because it’s a great opportunity to be cruel and get rewarded for it.
Very few enlisted personnel will see combat during their service. We know that before we enlist. Very few enlist into MOS’s (jobs) that are in the combat arms. Most of us enlist for jobs like vehicle/aero repair, communications, intelligence, logistics, etc. There’s not too many service members out there doing the “brave and noble hell work” that civilians love to circle jerk about.
JUST LETTING Y'ALL KNOW WHERE THIS BLOG STANDS.
It’s July 4th
Flint does not have clean water.
The debt is going into the trillion dollars.
More money is being put into military and “space force” is being “pitched” to the base
Puerto Rico is still not ready for a hurricane season plus they still serve as a tax haven.
The more you’re educated on the REALITIES of America, the less there is to celebrate because…
AMERICA WAS NEVER GREAT.
Oh and as a first generation American, the immigration policy here sucks more now.
We really need to eliminate career politicians out of Congress, even the ones that “means well”.
Priorities
Stop teaching children that there is only one person out there meant for them. Let it be easier for people to let their toxic relationships go without fear of losing “The One”.
Its so fucked up and weird that we don’t tell people that there will be multiple important people in their lives
