Hearing Jason say in a commercial that football is the fastest game in the world played the most calmly inherently makes me think hockey is the opposite of that. The fastest game with the most amount of stress and violence to it. You'd be the best judge on that I think. Maybe there is a great hockey comedy out there waiting to be made. My writer mind just starts to reel on this
@drysdcle
i'm a fan of both, believe it or not. clearly my bias is towards hockey because there's truly nothing like it. getting to be physical while also helping to protect those guys around you and the satisfaction of winning a game because of everyone's efforts? there's just nothing like it. we spend 82 games plus the post-season pouring our blood, sweat and tears into chasing a cup and there's just..no beating that, ever. shit dude, i'd love to see another hockey comedy out there! there's one called shoresy that's pretty good.
the saddest part of the tour is coming up very soon and is our last show and last stop of the tour. we're ending our tour in london and i am feeling very emotional. i feel like we have been touring for literally an entire year and now it's coming to an end. i was so excited when this tour started. getting to be in the states and visit states we've never been to before was such a nice feeling. i'm glad we were able to do our twice vlogs while we were on tour so we can look back at these moments. now it's coming to and end. so crazy how fast time flies when you're busy having fun not to mention my days have literally blended into one. am i ready for this to end? not really but as the saying goes, all good things must come to an end right? @limelightblvdstarters
i can totally understand that completely. it's so bittersweet when something you've had the time of your life getting to do finally ends, and that's how i feel come the end of every season. i love the guys i'm with and knowing some of them may go to another team and i won't see them come training camp is always the worst part of it all but i know we'll still have the memories that'll last a lifetime.
so does that mean that you're in canada right now? it was pretty good. i had a lot of fun and god knows i needed that before i start with these two upcoming press tours. the downside of having two movies come out around the same time is definitely going to be the lack of sleep and the jetlag that all the travelling brings.
i am, yeah. been really enjoying my time with my family and some friends i have back home so it's been really nice. shit, yeah! you've got the odyssey and the new spiderman film happening this year, right? talk about some crazy range you've got.
Yeah, I can imagine how intense that must feel, leaving everything out there and still coming up short. That's quite admirable… the fact that it's "taxing as hell" and you still wouldn't trade it because of what it gives you in return. I relate in a smaller way with work on set, it can be physically exhausting, sometimes you're completely drained, but there's this weird satisfaction in it. Enjoy the break though, seriously. You've earned that reset before next season comes back around.
for me, as much as it sucks, it fuels me for next year, you know? to come back stronger and improved on my skills. never in a million years would i wanna do anything else than play the game i've always loved. so i've heard! i know y'all work your asses off but still love what you do because of how it makes you feel at the end of the day. thank you! i definitely will be enjoying every second of it.

maybe you can come back to explore more of California on your summer break? you guys do get a little bit of time off, right? there really is too much too see, especially since we were only here for a couple of days. now that i'm living in LA, i should start taking advantage of it and actually exploring more than just my local haunts. i hear the Cali coast is really pretty so that would be something i'd wanna see.
i hope so! i still have some buddies out here and love getting to visit whenever i can in the off season. we do! the regular season ends in april, playoffs go until you get eliminated which the flyers did mid-may, and we get off until late august or so. you should! you'll probaby find so many good hidden gems.
I'm glad you're actually listening to your body instead of trying to power through. Right, you might just jet off! I have to go back to work so they'd send a search party if I decided to stay. With the wine tasting it sounds like you've already nailed the vibe of the trip! It would be criminal not to do it while we're here. Such a shame it's already the last day, these days went by way too fast.
we had a teammate who tried pushing through some actual internal bleeding he'd had going on, that really woke me the hell up for sure. thankfully, he'd rested and recovering now. how has work been going for you? good, i assume! and no search parties were needed, huh? the days went by insanely fast. just means we have to head back at some point.

to this day people ask me if i ever played hockey. i know people are aware i'm a fan of the sport. back when i was involved in sports though, it was all football, basketball and lacrosse for me. hockey wasn't so big back home. @drysdcle
buddy let me tell you, ever since the dallas stars have come into town, i swear it's blown up because AAC is a bitch to play in. but you know what this means, right? we gotta get you out on the ice, powell. i'll be your teacher, padawan.
it might be a little early to ask considering that the night isn't over quite yet, and i'm not sure i could narrow it down myself at this point, but what have the highlights of the trip been for you? as fun as it's been, i do have to admit there's a part of me that's looking forward to getting home and being back in my own space even though we've only been here a few days. @drysdcle
honestly? just getting to be somewhere i'd never been before! i lived in california for a bit but couldn't ever manage to travel too far outside of anaheim so it was a nice change of scenery. did you manage to have a safe trip back home? i'm feeling the same though. i'm getting ready to see my folks again back in canada so i'm stoked.
i was. i was finally able to get a little down time in such a short time. it was a nice bit of a change in pace. i will bet given how physical your sport can get. what did you get up to while you were there?
you guys are in the middle of your OTAs, right? or something like that. my american football knowledge isn't as good as i need it to be, so i gotta get my shit in gear before next season. i just honestly did a lot of sight seeing! and relaxing of course.
I'm only human. At least I wasn't completely obsessed with your beard, or you would've have to keep it the whole off season. So you're welcome.
one more game and you would've been completely obsessed with it, don't even lie. thankful i don't have to keep it for that long though, but you know it'll grow back. you packed to head up north?
do they get to come to a lot of games? i guess that's a good weapon to have. you hit people where with what they're least expecting and it's got to shake them pretty deep. i'll try to catch him tonight and ask him to give me his best trash talking. i'll definitely take advantage of any lessons, too. not sure when i'll need those skills but you never know.
they come to a few throughout the season but not a lot so i appreciate it a fuck ton when they do come. mhm, you sure do. getting to rattle people's just half the fun of it all. good, i expect you to be a master in shit talking by the end of it. when you least expect it, niall! that's when.
if you ever find yourself in los angeles in the next couple months then let’s make it happen. you can be a shithead all you want because that’s my default mode. i know, so heartbreaking i’m sure you’ll survive. loser can buy drinks after, deal?
with it officially being off season, i think i could manage to make my way out to la for a few days, i'll let you know when for sure. i'm pretty physical, so prepare yourself for that too. sounds like the perfect plan for me. you back to work now that we're back from napa?
