This is in the tenants in the uk subreddit btw. A landlord can make a comment describing deliberately putting something negative on someone's reference, to punish them, after deciding not to pursue the proper legal channels to get extremely minor damage covered by the deposit, which had already been returned in full. But I cannot reply to them and say they're fucking someone over.

Slightly rude language is still more "polite" than abusing your position over someone to make their search for a place to live harder, and basically trying to extort money from them to avoid it. But one of these things is easy to automatically filter, and one isn't.

If you want to promote a more polite positive atmosphere maybe you should just ban landlords from posting, instead of targeting the people who are 1. Justifiably angry at landlords' behaviour and 2. The actual demographic the subreddit is about
