You can dislike a ship, a cannon or fannon ship, that has been the case forever. But actively going out of your way to trash talk a group unless they are actively harming someone or doing active harm, is some petty behavior. I've been on tumblr since 2010, I was here when SuperWhoLock was born, when Homestuck was being written, and Teen Wolf queerbaited its fans hard- I was here for the ballpit being born. I met my husband of 12 years on a roleplay forum on tumblr.

Crossover, Fandom ships, crackships- they have been here since fandom was a thing. They are part of fandom culuture, and actively being cruel towards one part because you disagree is some pretty so sad behavior.

Also there's some edging towards racism on some(and I do mean SOME) of the hate towards Bloodymary and ya'll are outright gross for that.

Y'all are completely in you're free will to dislike, and actively not be for a ship even! Discourse is also a great part of the fandom, it's when it borders cruel and bullying that y'all need to sit down and think.

tell you what it really bores me when people criticise phm/il crossovers as if people were only doing it as a way to ship something, instead of the reality of it, which is that people had eyes and noticed that they were two movies released in a similar timeframe with similar messages and yet vastly different genres, and thought to themselves 'ohhhh that would be an interesting recipe'. the annoyance with shipping culture is, sure, whatever, but unless you're also criticising people who ship grocky and strattland literally stfu. basically every single bloodymary fan i've seen has also been in favour of aroace grace interpretations and a lot of people write them with that in mind.

it's people seeing that both movies are about isolated people who desperately crave connection and then letting those characters comfort each other. and if you then go 'well but they're pushing rocky aside in favour of a guy who's not even in the movie' they literally are not. a post about a specific ship does not need to acknowledge all auxilliary characters. what are you talking about. if they're posting about bloodymary why would rocky be there. and he usually is anyway!!
