Why is there a diarrhea parasite outbreak in America?
Because Donald Trump and his Republican allies cut funding to disease prevention and control.
Why is measles back in America?
Because Donald Trump and his Republican allies, including RFK Jr, cut vaccine and measles prevention funding and programs.
Why is the New World Screwworm infecting cattle in Texas, when it had previously been eliminated from the area?
Because Donald Trump and his Republican allies, including Elon Musk, cut USAID funding, which in part worked to monitor and prevent screwworm outbreaks.
Why was there a flu outbreak in our armed forces?
Because Donald Trump and his Republican allies, including Pete Hegseth, cut vaccination requirements for our armed forces, putting all of them at risk alongside our military readiness.
What contributed to the Covid outbreak?
Donald Trump and his Republican allies cut funding to a pandemic prevention program in his first term because Barack Obama had created it.
āAmerica firstā sends its regards. Trump voters, please learn your lesson. And if you donāt, itāll be taught to you again with yet another diarrhea outbreak.
Harrowing: someone in your Fandom just made an innocuous and harmless post that nonetheless betrays a deep misunderstanding of the character and the character's narrative purpose and you just have to sit there and let them be wrong lest you be an asshole
oh fuck my sexual fantasy has a plot hole in it *starts over*
Mentioned to my mom I'm asexual a couple months ago and today.... we got into the car and she hit me with, "So you use they/them pronouns now?"
I went, "What. no. she/her."
"How does that work? With she/her/hers and they/them?"
I stared at her. "What are you talking about?"
"Well you came out as-" and I said, "I'm asexual."
She replied, "Like an amoeba, I know."
"Oh. My god. No. Mom. It doesn't- it's not the asexual you learned about in biology. I didn't come out as a single celled organism."
With heavy relief, she said "Oh, it has a different meaning?"
"Yes, mom."
My friend told me to do it and I couldn't say no
āWho is the internet even for anymore?ā is such a valid question. Companies are sanitizing the internet and stifling natural human expression in the name of child safety and being family friendly, but the kids such as fuck arenāt benefitting from this. The internet is becoming too childish for adults and yet still too adult for kids.
So apparently #MinotaurMarch is a thing?
So many people never learned to live with harmless discomfort at any point in their lives and holy fuck does it show
āBut I wanna know!ā Youāre gonna have to learn to be ok with not knowing some things, especially when those things involve personal details about strangers that theyāre not comfortable sharing.
āBut itās confusing!ā If you take the time to educate yourself itāll no longer be confusing. Otherwise youāre just gonna have to learn to be ok with being confused.
āBut itās weird!ā You probably do weird things all the time. Everyone does weird things sometimes. Life goes on.
āBut it scares me!ā Is it hurting you? No? Youāll be fine. Being scared and being harmed are not always the same thing. Learn to tell the difference and then act accordingly.
āBut I want it!ā And I want a million dollars. You canāt always get what you want.
Addendum:
"But it makes me uncomfortable!" The world is an uncomfortable place and complete strangers are not required to fix that for you. Learning to endure harmless discomfort is a life skill for existing in public.
"But I don't like it!" There's plenty of things in the world and not all of them are fun or enjoyable or For You. This applies to everyone and we all have to deal with that in a mature fashion.
"But I want to do the thing!" You can't always do what you want. Most people learn this in preschool. Wanting something does not entitle you to be inconsiderate to the people around you.
why are the most powerful people in the world all such whiny fucking babies now
They always were, but now they have twitter. Also the standards of their dignity have fallen enough that reporters are more candid about what they say to them.

If you're an American with a disability who receives government assistance, you likely qualify for an ABLE account, or you may starting next
The age of eligibility for an ABLE account, allowing USAmerican disabled people to save up money without losing their government assistance for having ātoo much,ā is going to go up to cover disabilities diagnosed by age 46 (currently itās age 26), meaning a much larger number of people will be able to access them. As the article notes, many Americans donāt know these accounts exist, let alone whether they or someone they care for could qualify for one, so please share this information around.
It seems to me it would obviously be better if the āno more than $2000 a monthā limit were simply removed and disabled people could have whatever savings accounts they chose, but this is heaps better than nothing.
Effective as of January 1, 2026, eligibility has expanded to folks whose disabled diagnosis was established prior to turning 46 years old
About ABLE Accounts An ABLE account is a savings and / or investment option for people with disabilities who qualify. It falls under Section
trans women donāt have to be pretty to deserve your respect
It sucks that this is such a revolutionary concept but oh boy am I glad someone said it
And to approach the same problem from the other side: It is entirely possible to willfully and deliberately expand your understanding and appreciation for human beauty beyond what Hollywood and Victoriaās Secret dish up for you.
Trans women donāt have to be pretty, but godsdammit, their beauty is worth actually taking the time to see.
If you canāt be bothered to respect people who arenāt performing pretty for you, the skill issue is at your end.
@embervoices you donāt get to keave this in the tags:
#if beauty is in the eye of the beholder#then itās on the beholder to develop their skill in witnessing beauty
Someone asked me a while ago if I still had a photo of the worst sink I had ever seen while apartment hunting in Los Angeles. I assumed I deleted it so I didn't answer the ask and now it's gone, but as it turns out, yes, I do still have a photo of it.
impressive! it's ugly, impractical, gets water everywhere, makes too much noise, and the quote with shit kerning says you don't think music is even real
Imagining toothpaste accumulating in the letters
Imagine mould growing under the plate and having to disassemble the sink to clean it
racist white canadians and europeans want you to believe the slave trade worked like this
it did not. it is public knowledge the slave trade worked like this
and in fighting antiblackness within canada and europe it is so so so important to acknowledge these places's participation in and benefit from the transantlantic slave trade. Slavery is not just the US's dirty past, it is a triangular industry lasting centuries that white people in the united states, canada, and europe benefitted from and continue to benefit from to this day. Slavery was good for white canadians and white europeans. They liked it. they encouraged it. they had slaves, they profited from the slave trade, and they used products grown from US slave labour in every day life. The slavery of Black people would not have been possible on the sheer scale at which it happened if it were not for active, consistent participation from europe and canada.
