So today I randomly wrote a scene from Superheroes Anonymous in Kiki’s point of view instead of Gail’s and it’s making me realize I don’t remember a thing about my own series.

every time tumblr or twitter is shit, recommendations for mastodon instances start going around. my criticism of mastodon hasn’t changed for years now, and it’s a variation on “imagine if tumblr drama could result in a website being deleted and your worst ex getting access to every dm you’ve ever sent”

did you know that mastodon admins can read your dms as long as either you or the recepient are on an instance they host, because they’re not encrypted

proponents argue it’s not a problem when it’s actually extremely a problem considering that mastodon (by design) encourages small friend groups to run instances together and have personal relationships with admins

like it’s just not fit for purpose

I read the first two Superhero Anonymous books, loved them, and then got distracted by detective fiction for like way too long, my dude. I decided to give your books a reread, found out there were two more (whooo~), and thought that you left #HeroFail on a touching note. Do you have future plans for other books within or without the SA series?

This was such a lovely ask to receive on a Chore Saturday. Thank you so much!! I'm glad you came back and found the last two. Hilariously, I kind of view the series as two parts. Superheroes/Villains Anonymous is really one book stretched into two and then World and Herofail are their own thing together (kicking myself that I didn't name them How to Save the Day and then How to Save the World, would've been such a good sequence).

Herofail was where I felt I had to leave Gail because power creep is a thing and also I wanted her to have a shot at having a good life, something she can't really do if I stick around. She's off enjoying her own adventures. I'm glad you liked where I ended it!

I do have plans to write other books. I keep starting and stopping books and some health issues have kept me from doing a full project. I'm kind of tempted to release some of the starts that gained a little steam, just to see if there's some interest/as a way to kick my own ass.

I do have fanfic under another name that I'm not going to say publicly, if you want to read that. :)

Honestly the funniest thing about Goncharov is that it feels exactly the same as every other experience of watching your mutuals get into a fandom that you're not in. Its media that I haven't seen, don't know anything about, don't understand, don't recognize, and don't feel any particular desire to ever watch. Its completely taken over my dash and I'm going to start muting tags and words soon
