I think that part of what irks me about AI being used even for "small" stuff like meme graphics (aside from all the larger problems obviously) is like.... the time spent on it was part of the humor. "this is a silly inconsequential joke but I had to stop everything and spend 5 minutes making it" was, at least for me, part of the joke. Someone really took time out of their day to make me look at something silly they took time out of their day to make. Now it's like someone took time out of my day to make me look at something no one even made. Stop wasting my time if you aren't wasting yours too.

Okay, so I cannot possibly answer this. I love frogs so much, that I cannot pick just one favorite.

Here, let's engage the RANDOM FAVORITE FROG GENERATOR, and see what pops up...

Turtle Frog (Myobtrachus gouldii), family Myobatrachidae, Western Australia

These burrowing frogs dig forward, like a turtle, and not backwards into the soil, like most burrowing frogs.

After pairing up, a couple descends into a burrow, where they later mate, and lay eggs. The offspring go through the larval stage in the eggs (not having a free swimming tadpole stage).

They feed on termites.

Here they are without their cloak. No antennae or little wings, unfortunately. The body isn’t PERFECT, but it is pretty close to how I think they’d look. I used normal acrylic paint to paint it.

The body is made of trash, cardboard, paper bags, tissue paper all that I had lying around. The outer shell is made from a whole roll of toilet paper I soaked in water and shredded, then wrung out before adding back more water and mod podge until it was a workable consistency.

I only have the one progress pic. The whole process took several days lmao. I had to do it in sections, and each section had to dry fully before I added more.

The cloak took forever. It’s made with some scrap netting I got from someone I knew. The moss and lichen is made from some fluffy green yarn I bought along with some actual jute people use to make real ghillie suits (it’s basically just tough yarn. I got it online). There’s twine to tie it onto the Stilkin.

You can see that I tied each string of jute to the mesh by hand. It took hours and I wouldn’t recommend doing it, but the cloak is insanely sturdy because of it. The fluffy yarn was hot-glued on because I couldn’t be bothered to continue going one by one.

To make it look worn and dirty,I brushed out the jute with a cat brush, and then I collected dust from some chalk pastels I had from years ago and just rubbed the cloak into the dust until it looked dirty enough.

This was all done MONTHS ago btw, since I’ve had it, i’ve been putting it in different places around my apartment. Right now they live on top of my kitchen cabinets.

A line that I really like and has remained mostly unchanged over the years besides being simplified! I've always been fond of the idea of "bad" organisms being portrayed as "good" (and there's nuance to that of course) so you can imagine my delight when they released Buzzwole. I still think we need more dipteran representation in pokemon. It's always a challenge whenever designing a pokemon based on a human occupation and it's always really funny when pokemon lore insists the pokemon came first and humans just got inspired from it.
