What advice would you give to your younger self?
Two things I believe in strongly;
Being on time - there is no excuse for lateness. Unless there is a really good one, like ... being hit by a truck.
Magic is lying, professional lying, and its a blight on this planet.

One of my bosses at work cooked me breakfast this morning after a very tough PT session, is there a better way to start a Friday? I feel good things are coming. Also now I know how to poach an egg.
Passed my fitness test!
A couple of days ago I had my fitness test to join the Police and I passed! It is the main reason I started focusing on my exercise almost 4 months ago and I think I did really well, didnt struggle with any of the sections and came out feeling strong and proud.
Now thats over I think I need to focus on my next goal - running 8km in May! I have let my running drop off a little lately and I definitely need to kick it up a notch. At least making an effort to run a decent amount once a week on a saturday, and try to fit another smaller run in after work one day.
Also I've been having a bit of a hard time with my eating, and after passing my test I went a bit crazy for a few days. So today I am back on track.

Burgers for dinner
Greasy, sugar bun, big fat burgers. I feel incredibly sick.
I didn't even go over my calories for the day, so I am super proud of myself, and don’t feel guilty about what I ate at all because I planned for it and worked hard for it, but eating food that isn't good for your body really makes you feel like crap.
I really hope I remember this feeling! God - I could have used those calories on chocolate instead!

Must understand that there is no place for squeamishness in running, and thus be able to discuss bodily functions without getting weird about it. Must love food and enjoy spending multiple miles discussing what meal we will eat when we finish our run. MUST LOVE COFFEE. Must enjoy soul-baring conversations about philosophy, feminism, religion, politics, sports, the state of the economy, global warming, Tina Fey, the correct way to apply foundation, cute things our pets do, Zac Efron, our families, our love lives, whether we will ever wear boot cut jeans again (NO), how we love Instagram but also hate Instagram and also love to hate Instagram, what the best flavor of Chapstick is, whether Taylor Swift is secretly a robot. Must understand that sometimes on bad days I need to sprint until I feel nothing, but that I’m not trying to race them, just to feel ok again. Must understand that they can have the same freedom, and I will trust them to come back to me when they feel better.
Must, at the core of everything else, love running. Must love getting in shape, even if it’s hard, even if it hurts. And most importantly, must remember that after the run ends, running buddies don’t stay running buddies. They turn into family.

I know it seems crazy that im so excited about it, but we had my absolute FAVOURITE cake at a lunch for a friends birthday today (cheesecake shop double chocolate mud cake) - and I said no. - Even though my good friend who was going to not have cake as well, had some, I stayed strong. - Even though I was the one that bought the cake - and smelt the amazing cake shop, I even refused a sample of a different cake.
I'm not limiting myself, I am absolutely open to cake every now and then, but I am trying so hard to limit sugar - plus im going out to dinner for burgers tonight and want to save my calories for that.
I made a plan, and STUCK TO IT! Go me.

Big weekend ahead!
Friday - Lunch with people at work for a 40 year celebration, Dinner with my cousins at an apparently amazing Burger restaurant Saturday - I won VIP tickets to a Polo game- I'll be in a marquee with all you can eat and drink (fancy catering)
And when I say big weekend I mean tempting weekend, big food weekend, weekend I'm worried will ruin my entire good week of eating!
Plan for Friday: PT in the morning Skip breakfast, piece of fruit if need or protein ball. Have the Salmon for lunch Go for a run between work and dinner Enjoy dinner and dont stress about the calories! Plan for Saturday: Run/walk in the morning Have fun, have a few drinks, eat the delicious food DONT BINGE! I can try literally everything if i want, but I cant have more than 1 of anything, thats how the binge starts. Thats the goals!
Some things I've figured out dont work for me;
Having just 1 piece of chocolate Baking a cake with the expectation I will eat only 1 serving size Thinking I can eat everything in moderation - some things are too addictive! Keeping junk food in the house - at all! (Chocolate, chips etc)
