I don’t consider myself a transmed or a tucute but I do have a question

Why does it seem like a lot of the tucute side says that fake trans people don’t exist? I feel like they just might exist but definitely not to the extent the transmed community says they do. Like there are people out there on the Internet who lie about being a different race (like that girl who claimed to be the author of My Immortal also claimed she was native when she was white). Even off the Internet there was that article of ppl who faked being black or native just to get college scholarships. So why do people deny someone might pretend to be trans like how these people pretend to be a different race?

Legit question, idk if these are topics that can be fairly compared, and I’d appreciate any corrections or information!

Personally I think that yes, there are people who lie about being trans. The world is big and there are many idiots in it. But it isn’t a problem or a resources crisis like transmeds make it out to be. There are people who fake being POC or having an illness or being gay, but the solution to that isn’t to make everyone prove they’re Really POC/ill/gay/etc. Gatekeeping and the idea of you’re fake until proven real only harms the trans people who don’t fit the stereotypes of the people who think they can decide who is and isn’t trans.

Yes of course fake trans people exist. It can range from just gender confusion (which is normal) or voluntarily lying about your gender. I think the difference is that Truscum believe it’s “guilty until proven innocent” and tucutes believe it’s “innocent until proven guilty”. If you don’t know how that compares, basically truscum think there has to be evidence of being transgender first before you get a label, and tucute believe everyone’s identity should be respected until there is evidence of not being that identity.

Quick note on Autigender and people claiming autism affects how we feel gender.

Here’s the thing. No self respecting psychologist would ever include self diagnosed people when discussing statistics or correlation. And believe me I know 90% of these people are working off their own diagnosis. To come to a conclusion based on some people’s bio is ridiculous. The only conclusion I’d come to is that a lot of people think it’s quirky or cute.

I’ve been sent that one single joke of a study on the matter, no need to bother sending it again. I went through hours a day for a full week to get my diagnosis, how could anyone think that five minutes of the internet could ever provide them with any resemblance of a true diagnosis compared to that. Just saying.

Next, it’s actually more common for autistic people to have a strong sense of gender as we need routine and consistency by definition. Often autistic people will hyper-masculinize/feminize and often have the expectation that others are the same. We thrive on routine and are often very stubborn. What people see through the media is often someone who is anxious and socially awkward, and while that is part of it, if you went in to get a diagnosis based on that, you’d probably end up with the diagnosis of anxiety. Hard time reading people? Same with a billion others.

In summary, being a type 1 myself, and being part of the community, we would love it if people would stop speaking over us all the time. There is no correlation between autism and some weird gender shit. Can you be ((diagnosed)) autistic and nonbinary? Sure go for it. Does it have anything to do with autism? Nope. We often reject ambiguity and require more absolutes. Some cutsie shit really just makes us feel like a joke and it’s really fuckin offensive.

Type 1, which most people claim to be, because type 2 and 3 are marked by slow early development especially in speech, is marked by an often high intelligence which appears absent in most of the people with the claim. I’d love to see papers regarding diagnosis of these individuals because I have mine ready to go at any time 😉.

I knew I was going to be diagnosed since forever due to my genetic history and my obvious early signs of autism so I kinda understand the self dx mentality because I was technically self dxed before it was a thing. You got diagnosed in a day? I’d love to have a look at what poor excuse for a psychologist you had. What was it a multiple choice test? I had genetic factors too, friend, my little brother is a type 2. His testing took nearly a month to complete. The only quick “diagnosis” I got was from my pediatrician but that’s really not to be used as an official diagnosis. Being on this site alone is enough evidence that you’re probably lying.

I met with a phycologist (I can see him vididly in my mind still, short and Jewish with a blue dress shirt with a little bit of stubble). The next day before my next session the phycology team took my parents into the other room and told them they diagnosed me with autism. I can go into more detail if you don’t believe me, I remember it very well because it was a big turning point in my life. My mother told me she cried for like one minute and then she realized that, and I quote, “yeah, that makes sense”. I have no fucking clue where my papers are and I kinda don’t wanna look at them because hospitals and papers make me anxious now due to the suicide attempt 🙃. I’ve also had school councilors tell me I should get tested for autism but they can’t really diagnose me. I don’t know what to tell you dude. Don’t believe me if you want. It’s not like autistic people can have different opinions according to you accusing me of not having autism.

Better get looking for those papers I guess 🤙🏽 fun story though. Diagnosis is more than fitting criteria. It is also a process of ruling out other disorders. It is a process of testing intelligence, memory, anxiety levels, depression, attention, function, processing, reasoning, behavior, etc.

I’d love to know how they fit that all into one session! Seems a lot more convenient then what we had to go through. So how extensive were your results? Mine was an 20 page analysis that went over my testing results and explained the results as well. They did 3 IQ tests (I had an abnormal result on a section on one of them so they decided it wasn’t a good fit because it was on my 6 hour day and I just didn’t have the attention for it so usually they won’t do 3 so I’ll give you that) and I suppose 3 of the pages are graphs so I’ll give you that too.

So what type were you again? Was it type 1, 2, or 3?

Edit: However what I could see being incredibly plausible is that you were recommended for a diagnosis by this psychologist who would want you to go have a further analysis. In that instance where a psychologist states something they think might be causing a problem but usually they recommend you see a specialist. Totally plausible.

And what should be the case: being transgender should be medicalized and gnc people should be excluded from the term transgender. But also being gay isn’t medicalized and they’re still going through conversion therapy so I’m not sure how medicalizing being transgender will impact that. Unless it impacts it by forcing people to acknowledge it is a medical condition that you cannot talk someone out of? It’s almost like you want people to think people can choose to be trans. 🤔

Like I said, don’t know where they are and I kinda don’t want to look for personal reasons. I really didn’t want to bring up why but it’s because after I got back from the hospital my dad uses the papers to make me feel like shit. So please don’t ask again I don’t really want anything to do with the fucking papers. I don’t really know what to tell you because that’s what the phycologists said. When were you diagnosed (I’m not doubting the validity of your diagnosis)? Last I’ve checked they don’t use the type category anymore. I wouldn’t even know what type I am because they came to my parents first and my parents don’t say types. All they did was come in and tell me the physiatrist said he diagnosed me with autism. I don’t think it was just a suggestion because they’ve told me I’ve gotten suggestions from professionals that I’m probably autistic but my parents never bothered to get me a long diagnosis as a child (idk why they got my brothers one but not me).

Between my extreme asocial behavior, sensory processing disorders (I’ve gotten diagnosed with a couple before), selective mutism, anxiety, depression, repetitive behavior, lack of pain sensory, meltdowns, family history, etc. autism has been the most likely thing. I genuinely don’t want to spend money that I don’t have to go get tested for something I already know runs in my family very strongly and I’ve shown many symptoms too.

You treat gender dysphoria, you don’t treat being trans. You are still trans no matter what, but dysphoria can be changed with therapy. My point was that people will see transgender and assume that most professionals support conversion therapy because disorders are typically treated. Yes, gay people are taken into conversion therapy too but that’s because they believe it’s an illness (hence, therapy). But because it’s not in the DSM as a disorder anymore they don’t have a diagnosis to latch onto to spread their hate therefor it’s more unstable and seems more uneducated than if there was a diagnosis. Anyway being trans is not a disorder by definition. A disorder always has to cause the person harm or distress, (hold your horses this is neutral to tucute/truscum). Gender dysphoria is a disorder because it fits the criteria of causing distress, if it’s due to transgenderism then it can be cured with transitioning (so the trans person won’t be in distress anymore or at least have very little distress). So because of the lack of mental distress just being transgender (assuming you have cured your dysphoria) transgenderism in itself cannot be considered a disorder.

3. no, because some people who label themselves as nondysphoric do not even experience gender incongruence. they are literally comparable to drag kings- they are at ease and totally comfortable with their assigned gender, but being referred to as separate pronouns (whilst making no effort to pass whatsoever despite being capable) makes them feel happy. that is not gender euphoria (which falls under gender dysphoria, too)- that is happiness derived from cross dressing. as for people who do experience dysphoria, but label themselves as nondysphoric because they don’t fully grasp the variability of gender dysphoria itself- then yes, they are dysphoric.

Gender incongruence is what the American Phyciatric Organization as what makes you trans, not dysphoria. (Gender Dysphoria is a diagnosis where the person has extreme distress surrounding a certain gender). Gender dyphoria always has gender incongruence, but not everyone with gender incongruence fits the DSM criteria for gender dysphoria. Girl, if you think that only gender incongruence is needed then you are a tucute.

Okay look just saying she hates men is the definitive evidence to prove she’s a lesbian doesn’t only not work but also makes it appear like the only reason women are lesbians is because they hate men which isn’t really a good look for them. Also if the Love Hotel sequences aren’t canon then it begs the question if other character’s possible LGBT representations are canon, heck what about free time events? They’re not needed to finish the main story are they canon?

Ikr I hate when people use “well she hates men” as why she’s a lesbian. I personally think she’s a lesbian and here’s why:

She fell in love with a girl in canon and flirted with another girl

ok? She didn’t fall for any of the boys and showed no interest of them. She fell completely in love with himiko. There have been a few scenes (in canon + the anthology look I know the anthology isn’t completely canon but it represents how they would have acted) where she flirted with Kaede. It was clear both her feelings towards Himiko and Kaede were more than just platonic.

For her feelings with the men, the closest she got was platonic love for shuichi. She doesn’t hate all men. If she romantically loved men, why didn’t they write her to fall in love with Shuichi?

In conclusion: non-LGBT+ Japanese people don’t have a real good idea on what it’s like being LGBT+. They don’t really talk about what it’s like for others, so the only really good rep is from actual LGBT+ people thenselves (see: Takako Shimura). I’ve spoken with people who live (or lived) in Japan, they typically don’t know the difference between things like being trans and being a cross dresser, or being gay and being masc/femme. They are going to get it wrong sometimes. It’s okay, not all representation is perfect representation but we should encourage that Japan is taking steps to being more open about LGBT+.
