i think i tend to forget how good boredom is for creativity because we're all so addicted to numbing ourselves with screens and stimulation. but standing in the shower or going for a walk with no music or just sitting in your bedroom without being allowed to touch any screens & all of a sudden i have multiple new projects to start, a solution to a months-long plot problem & 4 new original characters
Helly R from Severence balances the beautiful line of being cutie patootie blorbo babygirl and badass mf bitch who will clobber you with a chair. Truly the character ever.
- Lighthead; [IKOYI BLINDNESS], Terrance Hayes
assholism does transcend severance
ok this is kinda sad that Helena says "I make these statements freely" in the orientation video because we all know she's just as trapped and I heavily doubt her undergoing the severance procedure was truly her choice and not something she did out of pressure. In a conversation with Jame it is in my opinion implied that she was asked to do it because he thanked her for "going through with it". And as much as normally it could seem she would have the option to say no, I think knowing Jame and how fucked Lumon is, if she said "no", she would face some sort of consequences
just imagined a helly-to-helena camcorder convo in the style of the Marks at the birthing cabin…please god I need them to talk to each other in season 3. can you imagine.
Helena leaning all the way back in the chair before sitting back up
Helly R.
The severance is that series that hit my triggers perfectly, feeling just a screw in an office machine where I have no control, it was very easy for me to empathize with the main characters, and the final twist is probably one of the most amazing!
markhelena is such an asshole4asshole ship it is sad so many people don't see the vision. they're both weird with no sense of social cue, no idea about how to deal with grief or loss of self so blinded with their need to be in control that they do not care how they hurt their innies also all of it is trauma response but god forbid they actually acknowledge it. astronomical levels of sexual tension toxicity mind games power imbalance problematic age gap femdom depressed loserman, "hanna" gf & "heleny" bf romance has it all
SEVERANCE | Season 2, Episode 10, “Cold Harbor”
Helena/Helly R. - Severance
the blink she does after mentioning her father, along with the second that it takes for her to collect herself, and then go back to this conversation is absolutely brilliant.
