It's a fantastic point, but John Boyega's net worth also puts him at $6 million. When he says eat the rich, he isn't safe either...
There’s a pretty big fucking difference between six million and one trillion lmao
Not to mention the way the money was made
An actor being paid for a role / doing some advertising is a world away form a man setting up a cooperate money machine that horrendously exploits workers
This is something I hate SO MUCH about how tumblr talks about money.
Like, I get that famous actors have large amounts of money, some of them are even probably overpaid (I have complicated thoughts about how actors are paid because of the nature of acting as a career), but they are exchanging labor for money, and their salaries are an expense involved in making a movie.
But like... an actor is paid for a job. They’re a worker like the rest of us. Bezos isn’t paid for a job, he’s paid for being the person who owns Amazon and despite being obscenely wealthy, he does all sorts of shitty things and to underpay and exploit his workers, and avoid paying taxes, so that more of the money Amazon generates will be profit (worker’s salaries are not profit, they’re a business expense).
These two mechanisms of acquiring money are fundamentally very different.
The reason why billionaires are evil aren’t because having money is bad, its because to get a billion dollars you have to cheat. You have to take it from someone else. If Bezos paid all his workers and suppliers fairly and treated them well, and paid his fair amount of taxes, and etc, then it literally wouldn’t matter how much money he earned, because he wouldn’t be doing anyone any harm. But its not actually possible to amass a billion dollars (a full order of magnitude bigger than a million) while behaving in an ethical manner.

Black Children
Let black boys be vulnerable.
Let black girls be soft.
Let black boys know they’re not limited to sports or Hip-Hop.
Let black girls know they can make it in sports or Hip-Hop.
Let black boys feel all emotions
Let black girls feel pride for the hair that crowns their head to their melanin that coats their skin.
Stop seeing black boys as threats,
Stop sexualizing black girls.
Let black boys be children.
Let black girls be children.
Weird thing I’ve noticed: Nobody I know actually talks about the current situation by name. Nobody says ‘Corona’ or ‘COVID’, or really even ‘pandemic’. In conversation it’s only referred to in vague terms like ‘the way things are’ or just ‘y’know’.
Like, “I don’t have a bedframe. I had just moved in March and then, well, y’know.”
“I’ve been trying to figure out my school plans, but that’s getting hard because of the way things are.”
“I’d been planning on going to some conventions this summer but….yeah.”
I’d always found it hard to understand how societies in fantasy or sci-fi novels could just all agree at once to not say the name of the big scary threat, until now.
It’s not even out of fear, really, like it’s always portrayed to be. It’s just cause like. There isn’t any reason to specify.
As someone who works in the Pharmaceutical industry, this is 100% correct.
A very common mis-conception about birth control is that it’s only used to prevent pregnancy.
This could not be more incorrect.
On top of the reasons listed above, birth control can also help regulate hormones to stabilize mood, help clear up your acne, and obviously, help our transgender friends with their hormone treatments.
Birth control is not just to prevent pregnancy!
Birth control is health care!
preventing pregnancy is also health care, you dinguses
Building Self-Esteem when you’re Struggling with Depression
1. Get into the habit of challenging your thinking – especially when it falls into the same old repeated, negative patterns.
2. Keep a thankfulness journal – and deliberately look for the good things in your life.
3. Spend time with people who can see your strengths, and who make you feel good about yourself.
4. Keep some photos or mementos that remind you of your passions – so theses can help inspire you to love your life again.
5. Leave positive notes and quotes around your room, or inside your wallet, or on your desk, or phone.
6. See failure as a stepping stone that leads to further growth – and as something that is common, and experienced by us all.
7. Deliberately nurture and care for yourself – and see this as essential, and a top priority.
