Gliophorus viridis ~ New Zealands brightest green mushrooms by Steve Reekie Via Flickr: Of the two known green Gliophorus species in New Zealand, Gliophorus viridis is the brightest, and generally glossier, with a smoother cap, and, sometimes, with orange or yellow tones in the smooth stem. Now and then, one of these mushrooms will come up completely orange. The other green waxgill, Gliophorus garaminicolor is a more blue green colour, more matte and crystalline in apprearance, with a lumpy granular texture to it.
