Headcanon that even though Toshinori is weak, he’s fast. That razor sharp gaze never slowed, his reflexes haven’t dulled with age or illness.
Everyone forgets this, of course. How could they not? He’s a different person nowadays, even though he really, actually isn’t. people know that he’s All Might, but they look at him and honestly see a completely unrelated person. He’s separate. He’s not the same.
So it’s only natural that sometimes they kind of, sorta, almost forget. Forget that he was the strongest hero of his time, that he could and did change the weather with only a swing of his powerful fist. That his mere existence kept crime and violence at a historical low, ushering in the longest era of peace since quirks dawned.
Oh sometimes though, sometimes, they’ll get a reminder. Bakugou will throw a pen at the back of his head in class when the man is turned around lecturing and Toshinori, without pausing for breath, without even a hitch in his perfect script, will snatch it out of the air and have it hurdling back even faster and so, so much harder before they know what happened. The class notices, and takes turns testing it on occasion. They forget the least of all, and Midoriya, he never does.
He’s sturdy, too. Toshinori may pay a higher tribute to a willow tree than his own youth nowadays, but he doesn’t get knocked on the ground. It’s something in his unbreakable stance, how he still holds himself like a 300 lb immovable object, like he forgets that his body has changed. The other teachers see this and realize that in his prime, All Might wasn’t always standing due to strength, but sheer insurmountable skill.
I like to think that rarely, during administrative meetings, Toshinori will begin speaking in his thundering voice like a leader again, slipping into that persona when he needs to be firm, and the other pros will go cold with the reminder. Subconsciously they will bend their opinions under that voice, instinctually following it like they did in times past.
The attention to detail in worldbuilding is amazing. This page on All Might's retirement is basically one of the big problems with this society that's relied on him for so long- they barely see him as human. Like the people who put up that "I Am Not Here" sign on his statue, people in this world seem to feel an entitlement to being served by a hero like All Might. They see him not as a human being doing a(n important) job, but as this superhuman, godlike being.
Even after all he's sacrificed for Japan (his life, his internal organs, his physical and mental health), it's not enough for some people. They're so used to relying on his presence that they take it for granted and even feel an entitlement to it.
When anyone brings up how catastrophic the consequences of All Might's retirement are, just because the country has a dependency on him, it makes me think that All Might was terribly misused in-universe. As a single person, while he was an extraordinary deterrent to crime, the series repeatedly makes the point that the issues that create villains were festering under the surface. Really, All Might and his "Symbol of Peace" was a forty year opportunity for the government to take advantage of suppressed crime rates to invest in long term infrastructure surrounding welfare, which would decrease the necessity of All Might over the years rather than creating a dependency.
Instead, for his forty years of saving lives, he gets flak for physically not being able to do it anymore. He gets flak for ageing like a normal person, for not being able to keep up with the demands of an incredibly physical job close to the age of sixty. Even without his injury, even heroes get old at some point.
The part I'm most bitter about is that despite all this, despite this ingratitude, All Might would still die for a stranger without question. He would die for the person who wrote this blurb. He's a man on the front lines. He's not a politician or an administrator or King of the country, responsible for the welfare of the people. But he does every single thing he can to ensure it. He does community service, he goes into active disaster zones, he fights crime. He does the immediate thing, and is criticized in-universe by people who simply don't understand that anything other than that is a waste of his sheer manpower, and the government and governing bodies are at fault for not taking advantage of his work to make the world a better place.
It all builds up to the overall idea that hero society is flawed on both ends. It's not just that heroes (like Endeavor) receive free reign and too much power, it's also the public that treats heroes as something other than human put there to serve them. The welfare of an entire country resting on the shoulders of an institution that is essentially just celebrity law enforcement.
Whenever I remember that Tenya almost went full vigilante mode for Tensei I want to scream so bad like it's not even funny.

Yeah, this is absolutely how emergency responders are treated in real life. You are a “hero” on one hand, but the public feels that you “owe them because you chose to do this job.” One day they would throw death threats at you for asking people to wear masks and then expect absolutely angelic compassion and forgiveness when they were one sick and in need.
The dehumanization and mistreatment of EMS, healthcare and public health workers during the pandemic was so severe that at least 50% of the total workforce quit. And that’s likely an underestimate. PTSD rates were 70+ percent. We did NOT get PTSD because we dealt with death on a large scale, it was because of people’s behavior.
I’ve said it a bunch of times, but MHA is so eerily accurate about this particular experience. The entire war arc on the heroes side and Ochako’s and Deku’s arcs in particular are very meaningful to me personally.
I know that people will often headcanon adult pro-hero Deku as very friendly with the public and fans, but I would LOVE to see some wariness and distancing represented. Because realistically, you will never look at people the same way again once your beliefs about them are shattered.

All Might found a bunch of his old clothes from when he was younger and set them aside for when Izuku gets older and taller. Izuku doesn’t really get any bigger though.
Izuku is a big horror fan, All Might is not, but he toughs it out for the sake of their movie nights.
Same this with spicy foods. He used to like it but after losing his stomach, he can no longer safely eat such things safely. Whenever he does get served something spicy by mistake, he always lets Izuku have the rest.
He will also cook him spicy meals just to test his tolerance. Izuku has yet to be phased.
All Might’s compulsion to spoil Izuku often clashes with UA’s policies about giving gifts to students, and Aizawa in particular calls him out on favoritism. But they can’t say anything about what they don’t know, so he mails things to Izuku’s mother, who sends them to UA.

Izuku and All Might just hanging out casually while people around them freak out because omg it's ALL MIGHT
All Might, in the midst of retirement after being a hero for like 40 years, following Izuku's hero fights. Mirroring how little Izuku followed All Might *sob*.
Izuku actually spent part of his childhood in the US and speaks English fluently, but he forget to tell All Might. After a while he just decided not to say anything because he felt it would be too awkward. Present Mic starts noticing odd errors in Izuku's English assignments and figures out that not only does Izuku speak English fluently, but he uses American English and has purposefully been making certain errors to act like he doesn't know English.
All Might messes up his medication (or some other plot stuff) on the day of the Sports Festival and insists that it's far too dangerous for Izuku and won't let anyone touch him. The heroes working the Sports Festival as well as UA teachers go through various hijinks to get Izuku who is reluctant about leaving All Might's grasp. All of this is, of course, captured on camera for all of Japan to gawk at and speculate towards.
Izuku spends his summers (or Japanese equivalent) working in the White House. This popped up after watching The West Wing, one of my favorite TV shows ever.
Toshinori and Inko have fun flirting and thus making Izuku angry. He is a momma's boy after all.
[AU where Izuku is Toshinori's biological son] Izuku (~3) goes on his first errand. All of Tokyo watches with baited breath.
All Might sends out a love-filled happy birthday tweet for Izuku's 16th birthday. Except the world doesn't know who Izuku is. And All Might didn't make it clear what their relationship was in the tweet. Japan erupts with the new of All Might's 16 year old son. Izuku blushes a lot.
Inko and Toshinori are married and Izuku is their son. None of that information is public. It isn't until the parent-teacher conferences that the UA teachers start putting together why Inko and Toshinori are so comfortable around each other. Then they realize how Izuku is involved and everything begins to make sense.
This is more of a full-fledged fic idea, but here's the cliffnotes version:
Inko was a superstar in her young teen years when she was in a Korean girl group. She later became a solo artist and maintained her success, but stepped away from the limelight to have a family.
Once she has Izuku, she takes him to her agency and he's raised around performers. Come to find out, Izuku is a gifted musician and choreographer with otherworldly vocal talent. He becomes a choreographer and songwriter, but Inko is hesitant to let him become a performer despite repeated begging from the agency's CEO.
In the meantime, Izuku trains with kids his age so he can make friends. When Izuku turns fourteen, Inko relents after Izuku begs to be allowed to join a group. (She feels guilty that he won't be able to go to UA in the next year, and wants him to do something he's passionate about) So Izuku trains with a boy group who is essentially BTS except I don't really know that much about BTS so I just kinda glaze over the group members lets move on because
BOOM Izuku is fifteen and BTS debuts in less than a year when he meets All Might and suddenly he has the chance to be a hero and to go to UA. But he's also been envisioning a future with his best friends doing something he's good at and enjoys.
Inko is desperate for Izuku to go towards the safe route of being a performer rather than a hero, but she knows it's a losing battle. Izuku pulls out of the debut but remains a choeographer and songwriter while also occasionally providing instrumentals and background vocals.
One of the main reasons I like this so much is because there isn't really a life-or-death aspect. Izuku gets to choose between two things he loves. It's a win-win :).
ALSO there's a slight alternative to this AU where 1A records their summer break (or whatever is the equivalent in Japan) in a vlog style and Izuku's vlog is about working at the agency with the top performers in Asia.
ANOTHER alternative is where Izuku gets the fic version of BTS and TWICE to perform with 1A at the culture festival :D
This so much longer than I thought it would be. Wow.
