senshi and ryland grace are not even tumblr sexymen they are blorbo from my shows. they are beloved by fans to the point that people outside their seriesā fandoms become aware of their popularity but they do not receive a disproportionate amount of fanwork within the fandom. tenna is in fact a tumblr sexyman bc my belief is that people were so excited to have a male humanoid to ship with spamton that they just went nuts. the fact that people made a huge amount of fanwork is related to the fact that he is a suit-wearing adult man in a series otherwise lacking in those. my fandom analysis
god my brother told me about this. I was like, just ship him with the alien like the rest of us⦠but I agree that if a significant number of fans like a guy so much that they have to search for a guy to ship him with in another movie that speaks to a sexyman type of fandom interest

for those unaware today india experienced one of its biggest protests in half a decade. there were protests all over the nation for various causes but the major one was in delhi. all we asked for was the resignation of the education minister because he's failed the students of this nation time & time again. but we were met with brutality, the police had barricaded the main site of protest (jantar mantar). metro stations were shutdown, the public was restrained from reaching the protest site and all the adjoining areas had signal jammers to make sure the crowd had no access to constant updates. they had us blocked from all the sides. they were lathi (baton) charging students from one side & releasing tear gas from the other. you couldn't walk 100 m on streets without having a tear gas shell thrown at you. there were many students, women & kids bleeding ā some from their head. some couldn't walk anymore. the police had removed their nameplates, covered their faces & acted with full impunity to resort to unprecedented levels of violence. they were pelting stones at us, beating up people for no reason, forcefully detaining them and attacking us constantly with tear gas & rubber bullets. they wouldn't let you exit either. the crowd was peaceful & looking out for each other yet they were met with violence. i made a friend who was all alone & she asked to join me & my friend because a policeman wouldn't leave her alone. he constantly prodded her for personal info, invited her back to the jeep saying they have food there, wouldn't stop following her around. you couldn't call or ask anyone for help, we were left to fend for ourselves & be on a constant lookout if you did not want to be beaten up to death by police. all for what? asking a resignation? shame on this country.

hey! apologies if this has been asked already or if it's a question you're not well equipped to answer, but do you have any advice on how to depict vitiligo in art (< not regarding patterns, but how to stylize the pale spots themselves? if that makes sense at all). thank you and have a great day/night :]
Itāll depend on your art style so hereās a very simple ācheat sheetā that should hopefully help regardless! Iāll also be reblogging this post with examples of my own art!

are people talking about the labor conditions at Taylor Farms yet? like the fact they use enslaved prisoners in their facilities?
are we drawing the connection between worker safety and consumer safety & public health yet?
are people demanding to see the conditions in this place that keeps making us sick? why are the enslaved workers not having the time to use the bathroom or to rest when ill? very few people would shit in front of their coworkers given any choice at all.

our last post died. like really bad so Iām making a new one
my gf and I are a black wlw couple who are trying to make it to mid August when my job starts and we need help until then. my gf needs money for her estrogen, I need money for my psych meds, and we need groceries to feed an 8 person household + a cat, and our phone bill
because of the heatwave and following storms, we havenāt been able to go out to the food bank, and while we no longer live in a food desert, the car has been in the shop for about a month now so itās basically just been cup noodles since june, but weāve run out.
I get that things are hard for everyone, and I hate having to make this post but we really have no other options rn as my gfs potential clients are leaving her on read and my job doesnāt start for another month.
my cashapp is $silvertheestallion
my gfs cashapp is $Santanajammn
my Venmo is cherryadventure2
hers is sidiosquiere
thanks so much for reading!
updates: my gf has acquired her estrogen and the phone bill has been paid! however.. we still have no food because we had to deal with those two first, and the majority of our power is out because idk fuck us
weāre now basically back at square one and we still need help, but things seem a bit more survivable now.
Collins is gone.
Namaygoosisagagun First Nation/Collins has burned to the ground. The entire community is nothing but ashes after being quickly consumed by wildfires. They did not have any support from emergency services, and no one offered aid. The community saved themselves by escaping into boats because no one came.
Mishkeegogamang and Cat Lake have lost power. Families are ending up in shelters with nothing. Armstrong, Lac La Croix, Whitesand, Gull Bay, Lac des Mille Lacs are currently in the fires path and all members are being evacuated.
All this loss, all this devastation, and it was entirely preventable.
After steadily underfunding wildland firefighting and purposefully excluding Indigenous wildland firefighters and Indigenous wildfire organizations from wildfire operations, firefighter training, decisionmaking, and resource exchanges, in 2025, Doug Ford slashed the forest firefighting budget.
It's hard to ignore his decision to cut funding and leave us out of adequate fire training (even though we've lived with forest fires for thousands of yearsāfar longer than settlers have been in Canadaāand made sure fires like the ones we're all seeing today were prevented through kinisitotÄn) when, despite making up less than 5% of the population, we account for 42% percent of all wildfire evacuations in Canada.
And when we are successfully evacuated, we face discrimination and racismālike Kashechewanābecause it's always been easier to blame us than it is to blame the true culprit: denialism, corportate greed, and colonization.
The people of Collins and every other impacted community deserve better.
Right now, the AFN is currently accepting donations to help Collins First Nation. If you're able to, please consider donating.
ONWA (Ontario Native Women's Association) is another great place to donate to. They have outreach vans going to motels and inns and offering food, water, resources, and cultural support to those impacted by the wildfires.
Other places to consider donating to are Mikinakoos Emergency Fund, Red Cross, True North Aid, Indigenous Climate Action. You can also send donations directly to Whitesand First Nation via e-transfer ([email protected]) and they request that you add your full name in the e-transfer comment section to receive a tax receipt.
*Before sending money, verify that the appeal appears on an official First Nation, Tribal Council or registered charity channel.
If you can't offer financial support, please consider donating items of need. Moontime Connections is currently accepting drop-off donations. If you live in the Thunder Bay area, Namaygoosisagagun Health Office is also taking in donations! They can also bemailed to Superior Inn Hotel & Conference Centre at 555 West Arthur Street, Thunder Bay, ON, P7E 5P8.
items needed are: food, diapers, medical masks, menās and womenās joggers (all sizes), childrenās clothing (newborn to size 14), childrenās shoes, summer clothing, menās clothing, toiletries (lotion, Vaseline, toothpaste, toothbrushes, shampoo, conditioner, soap, deodorant, etc.), strollers, adult depends-all sizes, dog & cat food

Look, thereās a reason people donāt like Tom King, I get it, but itās fucking HILARIOUS to be called a āracist grandmaā for pointing out Tom King is still reacting to the Iraq War, because it was a enormous deal for him, and heās probably going to still be reacting to it until the day he dies.
Incredible how some people are quite happy to dress things up in therapy speak, but not willing to give any energy to āhey Kingās job was very traumatic and heās still processing thatā.
You can not like it, you can not want to read it, but itās a perfectly reasonable response to his situation and there is a huge cohort of people who understand where heās coming from.
Oh no! Was the violent white man traumatised by his active and willing participation in war crimes? Was the racist monster traumatised by what he claims is his greatest accomplishment? how sad! Let's immediately ignore the fact he's an evil war criminal because you personally inferred that he's sad from a comic he wrote while actively ignoring the fact that he's touted his war criminal past as "the greatest accomplishment" of his life.
Honestly, I really hope that you never ever have to deal with the aftermath of how working for highly stressful jobs including police forces, military and security agencies affects, traumatises and changes people.
You absolutely donāt have to agree with (and indeed can violently disagree with) what people have done to still have empathy for them. I guess one of the things my own life experience to date has taught me is that being compassionate towards even people who you think have made terrible damaging decisions that have led to harm to themselves and others has benefits.
It is of course also your right not to get yourself tangled up in this and have an ethical strict line that you donāt cross.
But if so I sincerely hope for your own sake that that you never find yourself in a position where you have to wrestle with this stuff in the course of your work or about someone that you know.
Going to regret this when people come whaling at me, but:
Tom King has been writing for DC Comics for longer than he worked for the CIA at this point.
I, personally, am a big fan of people realizing they did something awful and attempting to atone for that. King has pretty clearly changed his mind about the US military given the way his Wonder Woman reads.
If you do not show compassion towards veterans, if you treat them as inhuman monsters, you will never get anything done. You will drive them right back to the military (which has a high recidivism rate, wonder why that is) and towards conservative groups which practice performative compassion in order to recruit them. Trust me when I say you are not helping your cause.
Tom King has built his comics career on bragging about his participation in the Iraq invasion. He has bragged about submitting his comic book scripts to the CIA for approval. His years of this very cushy comic book job have been his reward for participating in the Iraq invasion.
Tom King is a real-life white American man who invaded Iraq to punish Arabs for a crime that they didn't commit and he didn't suffer. You can't make up the impact of this real-life adult man based on your wishful headcanons for his racist, bootlicking superhero comics.
What is "our" cause? How do we help our cause by giving up our basic human dignity? Is our cause to coddle people who hate us? What is your cause? Doesn't it sound like you're the one offering perfomative compassion right now?
Excerpts from the foreword of the recent graphic novel The Flavors of Iraq by Feirat Alani and LƩonard Cohen:
Since I got out of the Marine Corps in 2006, I felt I owed a moral debt to Iraqis, and to the city of Fallujah in particular. Though it still stings to admit it, I was part of the assault force that laid siege to Fallujah in late 2004. Over the course of a month, we turned the entire city to rubble and left an estimated 4,000ā6,000 civilians dead in our wake. I know the damage canāt be undone, nor the debt repaid. But as an acknowledgment of wrongdoing and a gesture of remorse, I committed myself to campaigning for withdrawal and reparations.
[...] Over the last twenty years, the story of the invasion and occupation has been told almost exclusively from an American perspective that is so full of myth and omission that the entire collection of novels, films, memoirs, and journalistic accounts belongs in the fantasy genre. Not only are they historically inaccurate across the board, but they also share a common narrative form. American soldiers are the protagonists of these stories. To the extent that Iraqis are included at all, it is either as victims or villains; and, in either case, the need for Americans to save the day is implicit. According to this narrative, the invasion is not an act of aggression but an attempted liberation gone wrong.
[...] If Iraq through American eyes seems more the product of wishful thinking than reality, itās because the framing, omissions, and narrative tropes that have characterized much of the fiction and nonfiction on Iraq have flowed downstream from US military propaganda. One of the lesser-known aspects of Operation Iraqi Freedom is that the way the story was toldāthe controlled perspective, the characterization of the actors involved, the focus on strategic themes, the tactical use of languageāwas as much a part of the battle plan as was the use of bombs and infantry. New trends in strategic thinking at the turn of the millennium gave propaganda a more prominent role in American military operations during the global war on terror.
Soft power, it was believed, would allow the military to win the hearts and minds of Iraqis, reducing the need for deadly force. It didnāt actually work out that way. But the fact that our propaganda operations remain a lesser-known aspect of the war speaks to their success in constructing a popular (mis)understanding of the conflict that has been reproduced again and again in American pop culture.
[...] From The Hurt Locker (2008) to American Sniper (2014) and The Yellow Birds (2012), American pop culture has followed the model set by US information operations, pumping out story after story told through the familiar gaze of the American soldier. No matter that the invasion was a war crime. No matter that over a million Iraqis died in the course of the occupation. All ethical questions about the mission are, at most, a secondary plotline. And Iraq and Iraqis are just a setting in these stories about American soldiers and their struggles to heal the wounds of war.
That foreword was written by Ross Caputi, former U.S. marine, current anti-war activist. Not every veteran can do what Caputi does, but every storyteller can choose whether to use his platform for Iraqis, or to use Iraqis as his platform. And the people Caputi hurt still don't owe him forgiveness, or anything else.
Isn't it disturbing how Caputi's positionāwhite, American, and a veteran of invasionāis leveraged to add credibility in a French Iraqi journalist's personal account of his own family's lives in Iraq?
The Flavours of Iraq was adapted into a series of animated shorts, officially uploaded to watch for free in English.
French-Iraqi journalist Feurat Alani has observed and chronicled the changes that have swept Iraq, first through the eyes of a child, and la

But unfortunately, my father's health is deteriorating and he needs a new bladder and must be evacuated before it's too late.
In the past few days, my father has suffered greatly. He has been in pain. We have been displaced to a new place. After we were displaced from the previous place, which was east of Gaza, almost on the yellow line, they asked us to evacuate again, and threatened that we would not return to our homes, even if they were destroyed.
