another annoying thing that happened before i got to leave the mental hospital early is that the nurses treated me like every other neurotypical person would... like in normal everyday life if i come across annoying neurotypicals who treat me like everything i say and do is completely ridiculous i just avoid them but there i was stuck with them constantly breathing down my neck for 14 hours a day...

i actually don't know if i've talked about this at all on tumblr but some of the other reasons i left after only like 4 days were:

- during breakfast on the first day one of the nurses spent several minutes making fun of a previous patient who left early for how "lazy" and "weak" they were

- the next day that same nurse kept making jokes out of dementia? like someone would forget something minor for a second and she'd go "ha! look who's got dementia!"

- i was "hiding" in my room during movie night (they knew i was there) and after half an hour one of them asked me to leave my room "just for 5 minutes" so she could take a call in there, but once she was done, she and the other nurse who was there told me i was only allowed to go back into my room if i said "may i go back to my room, please" out loud. that really freaked me out to a point where i couldn't talk at all anymore and instead of giving me maybe a minute or two alone to calm down, they had me sit in the cold hallway for ~45 minutes constantly telling me that "it's not the difficult! just talk!" (despite clearly understanding that the waving i was doing with my hands was me telling them that i CAN'T talk) before eventually a newer nurse came along from a different station and convinced one of them to let me go into my room alone for a minute before they ask me to talk again. yay
