reblog if racists have no place in the beatles fandom
@motherlennon reminding me how much I love the Beatles by reblogging my decade old posts
and I have more scheduled like a beautiful peppering of Good Content. I still have your blog pulled up because there is just literally so many little hilarious beatles gems đ
john lennon drunkingly singing yesterday and changing the lyrics to âwhy he had to go, i donât know he wouldnât sayâ sounds like something from a fanfiction but it really did happen like theres even a recording of it
"Let's go back and get 'em, eh?" | The Beatles: Help! (1965)
September 25, 1967:Â Recording, mixing The Fool On The Hill.
Early on during the session, the Beatles were visited by two members of the Japanese media, photographer Koh Hasebe and reporter Rumiko Hoshika from magazine Music Life. While the Beatles began rehearsing The Fool On The Hill, Koh took photographs and Rumiko recorded brief interviews with each member of the group.
[My transcript, excuse the errors as the audio is low quality:]
Paul: âHello, readers from the magazine. This is Paul speaking from London England saying to you, âHello Tokyoâ. I love you and, um, I hope the weatherâs nice. AndâŚwhat are you filming, [inaudible] Fuji? Something like that. Wonderful to see you, nice to see you. [Rumi asks about The Beatles coming back to Japan]. Oh, maybe, yeah, maybe. [Where?] Oh, I donât know yet. [Rumi asks something, inaudible]. Well, I am good. Yes, well, maybe. Okay. Thank you.â
George: âHello, readers of the magazine. How are you? Happy nineteen sixty-seven! Lots of love. Uncle George. [Rumi thanks George] Okay.â
Ringo (I think): âHello. To all the [inaudible] readers⌠Yes. Hello, readers. [unintelligible, possibly âThis isâ] Ritchie. How are you? Uhm, thanks for the lovely time you gave us when we went over there. And maybe weâll see you soon, right?âÂ
George (I think:) âHello, Rumi. Itâs nice seeing you when you came to London. And I hope your show on the radio is doing good and I hope youâre playing our records. Thank you.â
John: âHello, Rumi. This is John saying âhello againâ. Uh, remember when we saw you in London, remember that? Itâs great seeing you. Leaving this little message for you. Good-bye!â
Paul: âHello, Rumi. This is Paul McCartney speaking. I hope you can understand me because Iâm speaking English. And I know you donât speak very much but, uh, Iâd like to say hello to you and all the people in good olâ Japan. And⌠uh, hope youâre okay because we are over here.â
