Hi!

Fairly new to posting on Tumblr; way, way back in the 2000s I had a website that posted synopses / summaries / reviews of episodes of PBS’s Arthur with fanart and stuff like that.  I was also on the Arthur Yahoo! Groups message board quite a lot back then.

The ECDC was quite an effort, at its peak it had reviews for almost all of episodes for the first seven seasons of Arthur.  

I recently decided to pull out the archives from a computer I had in storage and start posting some of the content, since the website’s been long-offline.  

Anyway, if you remember the ECDC, want to talk Arthur, or whatever, please feel free to reach out and say hi.

posting this kinda late, but happy birthday to arthur and muffy!!🥳🎂

arthur is technically 50 years old this year because marc brown published arthur's nose in 1976. it's wild that he's been around for so long! i haven't posted any fanart in ages, so i made this to celebrate. i probably should've drawn something in february since that's when the book was published, but arthur's birthday works too haha

may the most famous cartoon aardvark in history persist for another 50 years !! ❤️

so today a group of 8-9 year old kiddos approaches my desk and goes “hey. we want to go to the downstairs part of the library.”

i’m like “you can totally go downstairs, but just so you know, right now the only thing down there is the genealogy department. that’s like the history of this area and the people who lived here a long time ago.”

i’m expecting them to lose interest, but to my surprise, they go “we want to see the genealogy department!!!!!!”

so i’m like “alright let’s do it!!!!” and lead this group of maybe six elementary school kids across the library make way for ducklings style and downstairs to our extremely not kid friendly genealogy room. our genealogy librarian is super cool, though, and he pulls out a few interesting things for them to look at & they ask a lot of questions and try to find where they live on maps from the 1800s

after about fifteen minutes, their curiosity has been sated, so we go back upstairs and over to the children’s department in that same duckling parade style

That ask you got reminded me of a question I used to ask many an Arthur fan: which of David Read's recipes looks the most delicious to you?

For Arthur’s Dad, probably some of the cakes from “Dad’s Dessert Dilemma” (because like Arthur I probably would not like most of Dad’s concoctions like chocolate-covered ham…) but in the entire Arthur universe, I’d be most interested in the cookies the kids made as a group (but Muffy took credit for) in “How the Cookie Crumbles”
