the massive power of trains yet confinement to a single path makes them comparable to angels
I can’t be the only one who read this and thought of that one scene from Watership Down
“Rabbi Zusya said, ‘In the coming world, they will not ask me, ‘Why were you not Moses?’ They will ask me, ‘Why were you not Zusya’”
— Quoted by Martin Buber, Tales of the Hasidim
Think positively about yourself.... ask God, who made you, to keep on remaking you. ~Norman Vincent Peale
Just saw on this tumblr’s about https://sincerelystranger.tumblr.com. Don’t know who that person is or anything
“But how, the reader might ask, can one perform ritual without perfect and pure intent? Is it not a sham? The answer might be, “Once more, with feeling.” Even so, should ritual or rite happen to be devoid of inner spirit at a given moment, it does not imply that it is devoid of meaning. Sometimes, in ritual, we simply feel part of the community, and that is enough. Sometimes, ritual serves but to generate a sense of self, and that is enough. Sometimes, it strengthens the family unit, and that is enough. And sometimes, it connects us to the Divine, and that is enough.”

You may not fashion an image of God in any medium other than that of your entire life.

Trailer for Overcomer got shown on a movie I was watching a bit ago. Came to mind again now (finally remembered to look it up).
I want to watch a faith movie that isn’t Christian. I want more faith things like this that aren’t Christian.
Thank. You.
(oh, huh, thank you for letting me know someone else feels something like this!)
(Also I was noticing while watching the trailer that like - it’s really obvious what it’s about and what they’re doing, but it’s obvious because of the background of Christian stuff in our culture etc - within the trailer it is in fact never made explicit, to the point that I think if I was from some alien culture I’d end up with no idea what they were referring to.
Which made me imagine a remix of the trailer where everything is the same except in the end there’s something like
‘and so always remember your strength through your devotion to Artemis and Apollo’
or something.)

Let us pray that if the day has not yet dawned, when we can see the face of God in others, then we see, at least, a face as human as our own.
Rabbi Arnold Resnicoff
“We thank you for the miracles, for the redemption, for the mighty deads and saving acts, brought about by You, and for the wars You waged for our ancestors in the days of old, as this season.”
— Liturgy, recited as a hoda’ah during the Amida throughout Hanukkah and Purim
From the BCP Prayers
[Almighty God, who created us in your own image: Grant us grace fearlessly to contend against evil and to make no peace with oppression; and, that we may reverently use our freedom, help us to employ it in the maintenance of justice in our communities and among the nations, to the glory of your holy Name; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.]
Judaism sees creation as perfect and imperfect. When we consider the perfect G-d who made it [the earth] in goodness and proclaimed it to be good… we must acknowledge its perfection. But when we consider the evolutionary aspect of life, always striving to greater perfection, we must call it imperfect… This striving must be an integral part of any Jewish conception of creation- a conception that allots to humanity the responsibility for furthering the evolution of creation and bringing to completion the works of G-d.

Daily Hadith
Bismillah Walhamdulillah Was Salaatu Was Salaam ‘ala Rasulillah
Narrated Anas (Radi-Allahu 'anhu):
Allah’s Apostle (Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wa Sallam) said, “Help your brother, whether he is an oppressor or he is an oppressed one. People asked, "O Allah’s Apostle! It is all right to help him if he is oppressed, but how should we help him if he is an oppressor?” The Prophet (Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wa Sallam) said, “By preventing him from oppressing others.”
